Former Tshwane Mayor Brink hopes for reinstatement

- Former Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink, says he's not giving up the top position in the capital city. He
is adamant that there's still room for him to be reinstated as mayor.
This after the DA in Gauteng confirmed plans to ask their national leaders to intervene in the Tshwane leadership race through the GNU.
Brink was voted out of his position yesterday after the ANC tabled a motion of no confidence against him for a slew of failures in the municipality.
The ANC, with its majority of Tshwane Council seats, is looking at a new power sharing deal with various political parties.
The DA in Gauteng and Tshwane briefed the media in Pretoria this morning, and confirmed that the party will field Brink as mayoral candidate. Brink confirmed that he will not work with ActionSA or the EFF.

Can't understand why they don't stay with Brink. Surely things have got better under his mayorship
One day take a drive trough Tshwane. Not just the suburbs. Tshwane is big, east to west and north to south. Look at every street. Get out and talk to people and hear their stories. "White" areas only praise for the man, services have been delivered and are improving. The rest of Tshwane (that didnt vote DA) have not seen a muncipal truck or van in years including the garbage truck, yet they pay for it. Some places have not had clean water, yet they pay for it. Clinics open only sometimes. And muncipal workers who were promised wage increases yet none were delivered for years on end. But when they strike, they are called criminal "because they are halting progress" yet the same official has to go home and spend his timy amount of money to care for his family.
Add that to the second worst audit among metros along with their abusive relationship with "partners". Even the ANC said today that during all this the DA was trying to dump their partners and GNU style the council.
Think about it

I knew the DA and ANC would reach an agreement 😂, Cillers must just say it instead of playing with words. This is all about MMC positions which ANC wants to be part of. What ActionSA has done is to just strengthen the grand coalition of the ANC and DA from a national level down to the local level. I don't think the ANC will agree though to sideline ActionSA.
They haven't reached an agreement and I don't think that they will.
It might be possible in other provinces but in Gauteng Lesufi would rather work with the EFF than the DA.

The man sounds defeated. The unfortunate part is that, the national politics are the main reason. Also, the behavior of DA do suggest that DA is not matured enough to rule in South Africa, even, the Western Cape. Just listen to his remarks about the possible decisions of ActionsSA in relation to EFF. If ActionsSA has an arrangement with EFF where on earth does DA's stance on EFF comes in. Come 2026,
ActionsSA might dissappear, but DA should not celebrate as those voters might end up with MK, ANC and EFF. The real test for the DA is to focus on GNU and read the mood of the country as they go about their GNU sponsored departments.
