NO. The 90's were dark, hardcore and ARTISTIC(Nirvana, Death Row, etc) until this crap arrived towards the end of the decade. Wannabe soul singers with no real rhythm. I was a fan of NKOTB when I was in elementary school, and now I have a daughter the same age and we're both BTS fans! This is equal parts exciting and downright trippy, lol.
BTS' message is about loving oneself and being respectful. It is part of what BTS and kpop fans are about. At concerts fans are just the friendliest people and kind.

Thirty some odd years ago I was a closeted gay boy who couldn’t be a fan of NKOTB… but I was and had all their cassettes. I knew all their songs (Step by Step was my favorite) and tried to learn the dances. I wish I could have seen them in concert.

I listen to a lot of genres of music, but I've always had a soft spot for certain boybands (BSB, 3T, Damage, Another Level, to name a few) and I think it all started with my love for New Kids when I was little. So I guess thanks to them, when I first saw BTS I didn't immediately roll my eyes ("ugh, boyband") and instead discovered one of the most talented and lovable bunch of humans on the planet. Thank you New Kids for being my first. I still go down the occasional NKOTB rabbit hole and was lucky enough to see them in concert a few years ago. Love that they're still going strong and have such dedicated fans.

NO. The 90's were dark, hardcore and ARTISTIC(Nirvana, Death Row, etc) until this crap arrived towards the end of the decade. Wannabe soul singers with no real rhythm. Even suburban white kids in the 90's knew this shit was horrible. I remember people clowning. And no they were NOT "hating" . The worst part of the 90's were the softies born during the decade. They seem to embrace corny shit more than ever. So I guess to you this is "music". Idiot. Smh lol.

Seen them in concert 3 times now (Wembley Arena, O2 Arena, Hammersmith Appollo/Eventim ) and met them at a VIP event before one! BEST. DAY. EVER! Will forever remember the day I discovered them as they danced on the stage and into my life on TV at the Smash Hits Poll Winners on BBC 1 in 1989! 1989-forever!!!

Thirty some odd years ago I was a closeted gay boy who couldn’t be a fan of NKOTB… but I was and had all their cassettes. I knew all their songs (Step by Step was my favorite) and tried to learn the dances. I wish I could have seen them in concert.

I listen to a lot of genres of music, but I've always had a soft spot for certain boybands (BSB, 3T, Damage, Another Level, to name a few) and I think it all started with my love for New Kids when I was little. So I guess thanks to them, when I first saw BTS I didn't immediately roll my eyes ("ugh, boyband") and instead discovered one of the most talented and lovable bunch of humans on the planet. Thank you New Kids for being my first. I still go down the occasional NKOTB rabbit hole and was lucky enough to see them in concert a few years ago. Love that they're still going strong and have such dedicated fans.
