*** SPOILERS *** . . . If you guys know enough of the lore of this game, you'd know that the Vodyani guy (Isyander) with the spear in black is still a Vodyani. This is probably before or during his rebellion against the Vodyani federation led by his own sister Isyara. In almost all cases in the game, Isyander's Cloth (the suit filled with essence/dust) is in white, a symbol of his opposition to the Vodyani veneration of the Virtual Endless who murdered and harvested the Lost (original gods) to ascend into godhood. The new faction here, from what I read, was nurtured by one of the Lost into its Golden Age before being put into stasis because this Lost was murdered and harvested by the either the Virtual or the Concrete Endless.
@@HandsomeGamerGuy his suit is black here though. Doesn't make sense as he wore white to honour the Lost and their altars were in white. It's possible that he hasn't changed his suit yet and his rebellion is well underway already.
My friends just introduced me to Endless Space 2 yesterday, and I'm already enthralled in its design, its factions, its art, and etc, not to mention the game is addicting once you learn how it works. And then bam new faction. It's an interesting feeling. You may have hooked me here.
What a great trailer! It really hit me with some nostalgia for late 90's/early 2000's RTS' due to the spacey soundtrack, I think; what a treat! I don't even play 4X's, but simply love the effort these people put in to craft their worlds :)
There is too much xenophobic relations and down right differences between the factions. Plus ain’t no way your boning these, no way! Bad gamer, bad! War crimes are one thing, but some of us prefer to keep our dignity when commuting them!
I mean, most artwork that is about politics and diplomacy includes at least one craver, and almost none have an unfallen. Which I'll remind you, cravers have a trait that disallowes them from ever doing peaceful diplomacy, and unfallen are the resident hippies that want to unite everyone peacefully.
If Isyander woke them up then they have to have some relation to the Lost (unless he went "lol why not"), which would then imply that the Lost's story will be expanded upon.
Nakalim were elevated by Lost named Sobra. It was probably a living planet, just like Auriga, because their home planet also bears same name. As such, most of the tech and knowledge they have were given by Lost to them, so they are very advanced, but lost (no pun intended) any ability to produce science themselves. Even with science they can get from minor populations and system improvements, any output is halved.

They do have a connection. They already start with diplomatic connections with Isiander, just like the Umbral Choir had hacking as a core skill. They can use the Academy to their advantage and start much stronger than other empires, although their power declines over time

And it ties them into the whole "Academy diplomacy" skill, so they are the best at getting what they want from the Academy, which is now a distinct NPC faction, like the pirates but more powerful

I don't really know what to think of this DLC. The Art-Style is Amplitude typical again very stylistically confident, exceptional and unique. I guess they aimed for some kind of Afro-Futurism this time. But it does not tell me anything about how the faction will play in the end. Also the screenshots and the description text on the Steam page are not very informative. I will wait for gameplay videos, previews and / or reviews before I decide whether to buy this DLC or skip it.
They explain the basics of how the faction works on games2gether. They start extremely advanced, but they're unable to generate new tech without fulfilling presumably difficult requirements. It's an ES2 faction, so naturally it's completely different from anything else in the game, it looks very very cool to me. I honestly can't wait.

They don't come with any new mechanics but they do have an interesting twist. They are a reawakened fallen galactic empire. As such they start with the first 2 tiers of research already completed but their populations don't produce science at all and the non-population science is halved. In order to tech past tier 2, they need to do missions and hunt down relics of their pre-fall technology. And they have a unique building: "the temple of the lost" which stops you from getting all the resources including anomalies of the planet you build it on. But......it pumps out so much influence that they will be able to peacefully convert solar systems that are affected by its influence radius.
Why is that everyone is talking about Orokin, warframe and kubrows? is this the Tenno? why would Amplitude make such overpowered faction? NERF OPERATORS

It’s a shame I’ll never actually play this faction because of how stupid Isyander is and how closely the Nakalim are tied to his mechanics. It’s a real shame, but I’m not gonna deal with paying reparations every turn because some uppity Vodyani keeps attacking me with late-game ships.
Unless you have endless space 2 on GoG, steam workshop is easy to access and install a mod that neuters Isyander. And Nakalim that wage war against Isyander aren't that much different in power level than those who cooperate.
This is faction origin video. Isyander found them while searching Lost's temple sites. As he still has his black cloth, he probably departed Vodyani not so long ago. As his two pathfinders are beside him, Academy is formed already, but it is still years before Academy crysis event.
I didn’t enjoy this game. It needs better tutorials. But damn. Amplitude’s art style is consistently beautiful. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

well according to the in-game lore all bipedal humanoids have a common ancestor. there is a whole quest line around it that triggers if the correct planets spawn in the galaxy and you happen to be playing one of those.

Non, les démons dont ils parlent dans le prologue et qui sont dessinés sur la fresque sont les Perdus. Les Nakalims n'ont été évoqué nul part. C'est vrai que l'on ne connait pas grand chose sur eux, juste un peu avec Auriga et Koyasil puis aussi Isyander.

Comme cela profite aussi au Nekkarim, je suppose qu'il est allé les réveiller pour obtenir de l'aide face aux fanatiques vodyanis et autres faction qui penchent en faveur des endless. Voilà j'ai essayer de synthétiser le lore autour de cette faction, j'espère avoir été compréhensible :) L'univers Endless est vraiment mon préféré parmi tout les jeux vidéos, et est réelelment magnifier par les musiques et les illustrations soignées d'amplitude studio

This is possibly the most bland intro I've ever seen- "Prophecy said our time will come" "Our military maintains the peace" -etc I mean, the aesthetic looks remotely interesting, but the background and voice acting are colorless at best. It's kind of a shame, given how interesting and unique most their other factions feel.
I agree, but we also already have the Lumeris and the United Empire, so bland isn't exactly new to this series! Not every trailer can be glorious like Horatio.

After. Isyanders Rebellion is the reason hes the Heretic for the Vodanyi. And also the Leader of the academy.

As I understand it Dust was a product of the Endless harvesting the Lost, so the "war" with the Lost would have predated the Endless Civil War.

I mean, the aesthetic looks remotely interesting, but the background and voice acting are colorless at best. It's kind of a shame, given how interesting and unique most their other factions feel.

I agree, but we also already have the Lumeris and the United Empire, so bland isn't exactly new to this series! Not every trailer can be glorious like Horatio.
