Bobby you’ve been in my ears since I was 8 years old. My dad who was a heck of an upright player had Billy Preston’s The Kids And Me in his collection. I used to crank that up through his big old home built cabinets. I loved that album and i came to find that you were in the bass seat on that (I hope I have that right!!) then of course there was Rock With You. Man thank you soooo much, also the Rock with you track was a fun day playing with David Williams and Marlo Henderson and JR Robinson .. You couldn't help but groove with those cats setting up rhythm like that ~

As a bassist you always were one of my influences as well, your 70s bass work is in a class by itself, one of my favorite songs is Destiny, and Street Player is one of my favorite albums, thank you sir.

Hey Bobby, Is that a Squire Affinity Jazz 5 you're playing in this video? I have 2 Squire jazz basses. One is the Affinity jazz 5 and I had Seymore Duncan Quarter pounder pick ups installed and it sounds awesome.
It's a regular jazz bass deluxe body that I bought on eBay ($250) and I got the neck from a company in China (under $100), I also have some vintage pickups and a mike pope re-amp in it ... kinda been upgraded a bit , although I am just playing w fingers on this video, this is a very good bass for slap style !!!!!
