Alstro is so pretty and full when it opens and it's one of the longest lasting flowers. At the shop where I work, we peel off all the green leaves because they're the first to turn yellow, making it look like the bouquet is dying. We also peel all the guard petals off the roses, too.
Alstro's are actually a lovely flower. I know them as Peruvian Lillie's. They are an underrated flower, like the carnation because grocery store bouquets have given them a bad name. But they are incredibly long lasting, affordable and beautiful when they open up! I pair them with really expensive flowers because they are a lovely "supporting actor" I'm happy to see you doing these kinds of videos again! It was your videos from a couple years ago that inspired me to follow my dreams of floral design!
Alstromerias definitely give you good bang for your buck. Careful with the leaves, they will turn on you. Seeded Euc is a favorite, wonderful texture. Please Do Not pull out inside petals, remove the outer petals, guard petals, and then run your finger around the inner layers to open the rose up. Removing inner petals jeopardizes the other petals as they attach to the thalamus. Beautiful piece!
