Great Video! I usually dread these Future-Tech videos because sources are rarely attributed, and they often come with a ton of fluff to stretch out the video. Your video on the other hand is succinct, to the point and sources are listed. Awesome and subscribed.
I'm always amazed at how many drones you find which I haven't seen before. I'm already a subscriber to *quadmovr.* He comes up with lots of interesting drones. Thanks for the fun video.
Nice concise and informative piece! So, my son is a camera drone pilot in Hollywood - but the pull for the high end drone pros right now professionally is very towards much military/industrial focuses. And - man I sure love the videos of him on the tops of cliffs with FPV drones zipping around him . . . and think they might ultimately be healthier for him than building "one way" drones and such in killing zones. But its his big fork in the road I that he has to make. ***ANYWAY - before my ramble there, my point was that even with a kid in the biz, I really know very little about it - and so work like yours is a wonderful help for me in having educated sounded questions for my kid!
My sister has some friends that do the military drone flying, safely as civilians living an otherwise normal life, knowing their dropping a payload intended to kill people, then playing Dad when they get home each day. Says it messes them up good. I'd steer him away from that, no matter how well it pays.
The main issue with using thermoplastics is the gradual loss of plasticity, which is also the reason why plastic can't be infinitely recycled. Constrained metal alloys are also an option.
Yeah, I'm still stuck on the dragonfly drone in LEXX. I know efficiency and speed are important but how loud they are is also important to me for certain applications. Thank you.
The craft you are referring to does take off from a safety tether in that particular video cllip. I agree it might have been better if Tech Planet had shown a better clip of it from the 34 plus flight footage videos on my channel. I am still very grateful to him for including it on his channel. If you look at my channel and take any care whatsoever, you will see that it does in fact very clearly lift its power supply and does a good job of it.
Very informative -- nice job -- wonder ho the swarms of nano drones are progressing -- each with a video camera and a small charge - could you do an entire video abut these scary devices?
I am the inventor of the only 100% ion propelled craft with onboard power. I have to be honest the clip of the craft shown here shows the craft hanging before flight. I few seconds later it is energized and floats up into the air causing the non-conductive tether to go loose. Videos of that and all sorts of other flights of the ion propelled crafts are on my channel, linked to the icon.
Seeing that last drone, (with folding arms), pass through a narrow gap is reminiscent of smaller birds' ability to fly through a chain link fence. (Used to enjoy watching them do that, as a kid).
@@oubliette862 I always loved the DaVinci helicopter! You may have seen the basically silent ion propelled crafts on my YT channel. Thanks for chatting!
I don't know about the rocket shaped drone, but it doesn't look like it is on a string at all, and it flies quite high by known means. The one right after it that is ion propelled. It just one of a series of ion propelled models of its type. There are 2 US patents for it and dozens of flight footage videos on my YT channel. All the info is there.
Acoustical powered drone? I am beginning to realize the speed of sound-barrier has not been over come. Coil & un-coil concerning levitation, the correct complex acoustical signature may infact be able to lift extremely heavy loads over a very short distance? Thank you for this very informative video!
you dramatically misunderstand the physics here. there is no acoustical signature. its just a strong static soundwave creating pockets of low and high pressure, just strong enough to lift a styrofoam ball. it is not viable for heavy objects. the speed of sound is easily overcome, its called supersonic and all kinds of bullets, rockets and jets have achieved those speeds. even a whips tail will go supersonic.
There are over 40 public videos of the Ion Propelled Vehicle. While there is a safety tether in this video, most videos of the craft are verified to have no tether. The craft has two US patents that describe it clearly and is well verified to lift its power supply with ions.
Nothing to do with this video. Just an idea; make a spiral mirror, and point it to the Pleiades or some other well identified star as you see it today. You will detect light using a light detector . Then figure out where the Pleiades are today (1200 light years away from they are today) you will it detect “light” where there is none. There currently is no explanation for that. I mentioned the Pleiades because this is the star group that was used for this experiment in “a well known national laboratory” where this experiment was conducted. This only works with a spiral mirror. There is no clear explanation as to how “light” traveling at the speed of light is reaching the mirror from the current location where the star cluster is today “instantaneously”. The spiral mirror must be at least 1 meter long. No reflector is needed. This is one of the top things physicists are working on. Two possible explanations: Tachyon / photons or quantum entanglement. FYI - there is no other stars at the site where the photons area coming from the location where the photons are coming from taking in consideration time dilation.
The first one, with a propeller like that, aerodynamics is not efficient in sending wind from top to bottom, that's the reason why drone or helicopter propellers are made of simple shapes
Very frightening. The military applications of these drones are endless and with miniturization we could be faced with the most deadly death-dealing devices that humanity has ever had to face. They could become simply unstopable if their AI ability allowed them to persistently adapt to newer and more deadly configurations. :(
No, on a couple videos of the craft, out of about 40 total, there is an overhead safety tether. The non-conductive tether obviously goes completely slack when the craft is energized.
Do you support new developmwnts or new projects? do you know. the names of all this companies from you ve taken the videos? I. want support for an idea I am no engineer and. I dont have money but I got an idea
you dont have to have batteries on a facility where the floors and walls, are covered with wireless resonant wire transmitters, ie, remote powered tram-like drone system
ai is when you do weighted breadth first 3d grid search with favorable positions, ie, better (prefer) when more than x distance away from collision, away from hazards

Can it sit on a powerline and charge itself?? Game changer

5:16 that render of mosquito robot looks so magical when i searched up "robot" on google back in 2008 i think 😄
It's cool that soft robotics and 'drone' designers are exploring and combining different disciplines for useful application

This is some amazing stuff... Super Exciting tehcnology :-D I have ideas running through my head 😀
Thanks, start building!
At around 2:40, the drone shown is clearly being held up by thin nylon threads. So much for proving that ion lifters can fly on the their own.

This was an excellent video.
As the drones keep getting smaller and smaller, you could do an episode on the fly swatters of the future, perhaps?

the drone at :33 is from devinci's design so amazing that we could create what he wrote down and it actually worked.
Comment fonctionne ce drone a 3:13? Ionosphere?

i wonder if the screw blade would work better if it were ducted. Or had something around part of it.

Toroidal propellers for drones, and boats is where it is at in my opinion.

It's both: fascinating and creepy...
Boy once they learn how to make that ion thrust on major scale will be having flying saucers in no time.
Some say there's a whole stock of them in area 51
Let's hope that whomever ends up in control of these has a strong respect for human life.
does the drone that lands on the wire, get its electric from the wire? as in electric grid wires? seems like a nifty idea!
No, it is fully self-contained. There are many more videos of it on my channel.

Those rotors look just like the original helicopter design by Leonardo da Vinci, except installed in pairs
well spotted sherlock

what drone is in 2:00 ?
See that ion shit? I told you the stealth fighter was a TIE fighter!
Ion engines are closest thing to alien propellentless technology
What a blue balling at the end...
atleast include the end of the bottom view drop through of the drone xD
last two are really something else.
I want that mini drone that has a nuclear diamond battery that can last 28,000 years on a single charge 😂
Like that old work horse that peeked into the barn to see what Henry Ford was tinkering with this time. Drones are getting there.

Can the last drone land on a high tension electrical power line and recharge its batteries? I've read those typically are un-insulated.
