you could have just said it was a reference to Cooler Abridged instead of just spoiling the joke... He would have got it when watching the movie or *then* someone could have pointed it out to him...
The “no more country music” joke actually starts here and is referenced later in the History of Trunks special you watched. Bulma driving with Trunks while Robot Rock by Daft Punk is playing, prompting Bulma to say “I miss Country.” Also that special is the only time we see 17 pull out his pistol and is about to use it (point blank) to end an old man that just shot at him.
17 can also be seen using his gun in a nightmare of Goku, where 18 and 17 arrive at his house and kill Gohan, Krillin, Chichi, and Trunks, before killing Goku himself. 17 shoots Goku with his gun to kill him. (Only on the anime)
I thought that was when Trunks goes back after dealing with Cell in the primary timeline, and he’s significantly stronger and easily wiped out the Cyborgs in his timeline.
15:37 - Yamcha had only seen the first two androids (the old man and the clown), so he is understandably confused when Krillin mentions 'the cute one'.
I mean, I know what you're referencing, but it makes sense in context right here and now, too. He's looking at the floor of the Lookout, where all the tiles are square, but they make up a big circle.
1:57 the explanation here is that in the Japanese intro of dbz there’s a quote that randomly states to teach a dinosaurs to ride a ball. It’s also a callbacks to one of TFS’s dbza movies in cooler’s revenge-where goku turns ssj at the end and tells a bird to “teach a dinosaurs how to ride a ball.”
@@DizzyChi21 what do you mean that's exactly what he meant they don't have country music in the future cause right after the androids kill the z fighters they destroy all country music that's what android 18 meant by I know the first thing we're gonna do
The bird is a reference to the opening theme "Chala Head-Chala" and also their Cooler movie, when Goku revives a bird and tells it to "go, and teach a dinosaur to ride a ball".
Based on how you reacted to Roshi’s comment on a submarine at 17:52, I assume you did not see the post-credits scene from TFS’s History of Trunks. You might want to take a look at that since the TFS movies will generally have something at the end. Same goes with the reference to country music as the special was not released until after episode 46.
@@LinkinMark1994 Did he watch it on Twitch? Because his react video on RUclips doesn’t have the post-credits scene and it seemed like he stopped watching at the credits.
So not only Future Bulma didn't told trunks about Dr Gero (since they knew the androids were from Red ribbon and that a brilliant scientist works for them) But she also made a medicine for Goku with the only flavor he hates...
Its the cat with Yadrobe. Yes he uses the gun but sparingly. Missed the joke where 17 dyes his hair. Im sure everyone explained the bird. Country music's abolishment was first referenced In the Trunks movie where all that played on the radio was Techno, the androids were annoyed by the music so they got rid of it.
You already saw Bulma's mom back in s2, she kept getting called MILF and treated like a 1950's housewife who had to stay in the kitchen. Also, people are explaining the Toriyama thing poorly: One of the lines in the actual Japanese intro song for DBZ (so not TFS/abridged, but the actual show) mentioned "teaching a dinosaur how to ride a ball". THAT is what the line in the cooler movie is referencing with Goku naming a bird Toriyama and telling it to teach a dinosaur, and then THIS was a callback to that.
They explain the country music joke in the very last line of the episode. It's not really deeper than that, other than that the writers probably agree with 18.
Also in the history of trunks special 17 days something like “aren’t you getting bored of this world domination thing? I mean once you’ve wiped an entire genre of music off the face of the Earth, there’s not much left”
Torijama was the bird that turned Goku SSJ in the Cooler movie...after it somehow got revived in Goku's hand he told it to "go teach a dinosaur to ride a ball"
Toriyama is a bird from DBZA Cooler's Revenge. I think it's one of the jokes that you talked over (which you do a lot). Goku sees a dying bird and says "Oh hey birdy, I'm gonna call you Toriyama" then the bird start dying and he says "Toriyama no! You were taken before your time!" then screams and turns super saiyan heals the bird and says "Go Toriyama and teach a dinosaur to ride a ball."
In the history of trunks special, TFS made a line saying that the androids wiped out country music from the face of the earth, which is referenced by the current timeline androids wanting to do the same. In this instance I completely agree with them.
The part where 16 is talking to the bird at the beginning is a call back to the cooler movie. Goku picks up a bird and gives it energy to fly and says “teach a dinosaur to ride a ball”

Country music vanished because the Androids intentionally wiped it out; that was what Android 18 meant by "I know the first thing I'm going to do" after hearing the country song on the radio.
The country music was just joke that was followed upon in the history of trunks special, at the start when Bua turns on the radio she says she misses country
Other people have explained the Chala Head Chala lyrics, but it might also be worth mentioning that "tori" is Japanese for bird. The name Toriyama is written with the kanji for bird (tori) and mountain (yama). So naming the bird Toriyama is a cute little...bird pun or something.
Hey Jack, thanks for keeping me entertained while I've been working hard this past month. Your Playlists kept me smiling and my mind off of overwhelming work
I think teach a dinosaur to ride a ball is a reference from one of the abridged movies you haven't watched yet and country music doesn't exist in the future because of what you see at the end of 41 where 17 and 18 basically imply that they're killing country music right after they kill Goku.
The joke with country music being gone in trunks future is in the end of the episode. The androids eluded to the 1st thing they would do after killing goku is killing off all country music. so the joke could only be understood if you remembered the quote by the end of the episode. It could be they entered a country music joke because of the amount of farmers and country folk in the dbz universe despite its technological advantages. In a way it fits since goku technically lives in the sticks too. They mention it in the real dbz how gohan has to fly to highschool at the begining of the buu saga. Also in the og dragonball the ox king (chichi's father and master roshi's apprentice) has his own land thus they probably took some of it and it is away from most of society.

I think it's more that Trunks is finally coming to grips with the fact that the legendary group of warriors that he's heard stories about from Bulma and Gohan all his life are really just a bunch of idiots.
When Trunks goes back to his timeline you see Android 17 using the gun. Only time in Abridged. In DBZ he does it a couple of times for fun. Not necessary, just like driving is considered dumb when you can fly.

I’ve been watching this for years and only now have connected that all these sqaures make a circle is about the lookout is in a shape of a circle and it’s floor is covered in sqaure tiles
In the Abridged Movie 5 : "Cooler's Revenge" when Goku turns into a Super Saiyan and defeats him, he heals a bird by giving it his energy and named it Toriyama and after healing it, told it go and teach a dinosaur to ride a ball. In episode 40 that same bird returns and in the "English (Canada)" subtitles the bird says "I taught a dinosaur to ride a ball" with Android 16 replying with a "It does what?" and the intro begins.
2:18 in the Canada english subtitles it tells you what the bird told him and what the bird told 16 is a reference to the coolers revenge abridged where goku calls the bird toriyama and tells it to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball and thus when Android 16 said "IT DOES WHAT?!!" The bird aka toriyama had just told 16 it's pet dinosaur can ride a ball
The toriyama bit is a reference to the first tfs cooler movie where Goku revives a bird, names it Toriyama and tells them to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball.
Like some people already said the Dinosaur line is a reference to the cooler movie, which by itself is a reference to the original opening song, but also Akira Toriyama is the creator of Dragon Ball and Tori is the Japanese wording for bird, so it all comes back together
In the first TSF Cooler movie Goku goes Super Saiyan when a bird passes out in his hand. He named the bird Toriyama after the creator of the original manga, and after reviving the bird he says "Go Toriyama, teach a dinosaur to ride a ball." The joke with 16 is this was the same bird from the Cooler movie, and it succeeded in the task Goku gave it.
Toriyama owns bird studios which is why the bird is named Toriyama in both this episode and the coola abridged movie. Also a line from the intro is translated to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball
The Toriyama joke has many levels. In the abridged movie with cooler Goku revived a bird and named it “Toriyama” and told it to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball which is ironic cause 16 wants to kill Goku. Tori also means bird in Japanese and a line in the intro is teach a dinosaur to ride a ball
The dinosaur rides a ball. Same as in the DBZ opening and a bit of innuendo. They call back to it in Cooler's Revenge when Goku revives the bird. He calls the bird Toriyama and tells it to go teach a dinosaur to ride a ball.
The country music reference was explained immediately at the end of the episode... - 17 turned on the radio, 18 heated it so much that she decided to wipe it off the face of the earth... (a bit extreme, but not completely unjustified) 18: "What are we going to do after we kill Goku?" 17: "Whatever we want!" *Turns on radio: Country music 18: "I think I know what I want to do now"
The country music reference is a running joke in abridged where in Trunks' the future the cyborgs have erased it from the face of the earth. Possible because the long ass drive listening only to that genre of music.
Taken from Reddit: So, there's Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball. Toriyama owns Bird Studios, that's why it's a bird named Toriyama. Teaching a dinosaur to ride a ball is a lyric from the song CHARA HECCHARA, the original opening to Dragon Ball Z.
The Toriyama bit is a reference to the theme song, Cha-La Head Cha-La. One of the lyrics is about teaching a dinosaur to ride a ball. The country music thing isn't a reference, I don't believe. Just gives the Androids more characterization.
13:41 Bruh, Trunks's arrival alone messed with the timeline, let alone specifically explaining what's gonna happen. Cut them some slack. 15:36 Yamcha peaced out before they got to 18.
There's a lot of comments stating the connection to the Cooler movie and the dinosaur ball thing, but also not that the Japanese word for 'Bird' is 'Tori'. So they rolled with it and made it 'Toriyama', which is the creator. And then Cha la head cha la, "If the ice of the north melted, and if there's a dinosaur inside, I want to see it ride on a ball", or something along those lines.
17 uses his guns, future / alternative trunks' 17 used it to kill an old man. When Goku requested energy for the Spirit Bomb, 17 was in the middle of stopping poachers. He had a shotgun trained on them
Nale: hey are you ok down there? Piccolo: yeah, what did i miss? Nale: well both the Saiyans are down ,one of the ball guy is getting choked out and the other one is quacking. Krillin: Quack 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’ve been watching this for years and only now have connected that all these sqaures make a circle is about the lookout is in a shape of a circle and it’s floor is covered in sqaure tiles
“Cells at work!” Is an anime about cells as if they lived in a city inside us it’s really good actually
Toryama is the creator of the whole DBZ series. And also the funny thing is that I never notice 17 carring that gun.
17 uses his gun once while Trunks is drinking Tea.
22:05 its reference to dbza future trunks story
Cha la head Cha la in the lyrics translated to English it says that he wants to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball
The scary part is I'm pretty sure Chiaotzu is only a few years younger than the other Z members
"Cells are boring"
I just got that foreshadowing joke. XD
"I'm bored... you're boring me"
I forgot where the cell line "AND HOW DO ALL THESE SQUARES MAKE A CIRCLE!" came from 😂
The toriyama bit is a reference to the first tfs cooler movie where Goku revives a bird, names it Toriyama and tells them to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball.
Like some people already said the Dinosaur line is a reference to the cooler movie, which by itself is a reference to the original opening song, but also Akira Toriyama is the creator of Dragon Ball and Tori is the Japanese wording for bird, so it all comes back together
Android 17 uses his gun in the epilogue of episode 60 of abridged. Sooo that's a ways to go
In the first TSF Cooler movie Goku goes Super Saiyan when a bird passes out in his hand. He named the bird Toriyama after the creator of the original manga, and after reviving the bird he says "Go Toriyama, teach a dinosaur to ride a ball."
The joke with 16 is this was the same bird from the Cooler movie, and it succeeded in the task Goku gave it.
Toriyama owns bird studios which is why the bird is named Toriyama in both this episode and the coola abridged movie. Also a line from the intro is translated to teach a dinosaur to ride a ball
The country music reference is to one of the creators, KaiserNeko, Specific take on the country genre
Bruh you literally missed an entire movie already with Christmas Tree of Might and DB KAI episode 2.
(a bit extreme, but not completely unjustified)
18: "What are we going to do after we kill Goku?"
17: "Whatever we want!"
*Turns on radio: Country music
18: "I think I know what I want to do now"
Was just looking for something to watch goated drop
5:06 "OMG, OMG, OMG!!" TOTALLY THE REACTION THEY WANTED THE AUDIENCE TO HAVE😂❤
The country music reference is a running joke in abridged where in Trunks' the future the cyborgs have erased it from the face of the earth. Possible because the long ass drive listening only to that genre of music.
Did anybody notice that when Jack said fine about Bulmas mom he said fine in her actual dbz dubbed voice actress accent
"all these squares make a circle" is btw the lookout of Kami, because it is round but the ground is made out of squares
all these squares make a circle
Taken from Reddit:
So, there's Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball.
16:47 I think we've all had these moments
Apparently the Androids hate country music, so they pretty much destroyed all traces of it in Trunks' timeline
It’s from the DBZA Cooler movie, Goku saves a bird and the birds name was Toriyama, when Goku saved it he said “go teach a dinosaur to ride a ball”
"All these squares make a circle"
Man is going insane
Bulma's mother is a robot
17 uses his guns, future / alternative trunks' 17 used it to kill an old man. When Goku requested energy for the Spirit Bomb, 17 was in the middle of stopping poachers. He had a shotgun trained on them
Remember the "All these squares make a circle" quote for the Cell Games
Taka's song during Cell's introduction STILL gives me chills.
Nale: hey are you ok down there?
Piccolo: yeah, what did i miss?
Nale: well both the Saiyans are down ,one of the ball guy is getting choked out and the other one is quacking.
Krillin: Quack
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Dino joke is from the Cooler movie where Goku talked to the bird before he goes super Sayain
If only they knew about orange piccolo
