07:02 - I see a happy father! 😊 There's your Happy Father's Day right there. 👍 edit: p.s. Rory Charles Graham (aka Rag'n'Bone Man) is English and about the closest he is to having a black wife is having been born in E. Sussex and Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex; so, degrees of separation. 😆
I came here to say this. The proud dad smile made my soul smile.
He's a humble young man, too. Saw him on Graham Norton.
He is British living in England why don’t you research the artists you react to its disrespectful to get is heritage wrong I was going to subscribe until you said he was American
@@alexhumphreys5243 I can see how the song can speak to the hosts in a way they may assume he is from the American south. I’m from Canada’s west coast on the Pacific Ocean. I’m white and yet I see things in this song relevant to me. It is good and universal. Its for all people about all people - equally, regardless of backgrounds. As it should be. It’s ok they thought he was American. In a way all of us Rag n Bones Man fans wish he was ours.
@@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks yea your right but I didn’t say anything about the colour of his skin I’m from Manchester uk and it is a melting pot of people from all over the world polish Russian African Jamaican everywhere I said it’s disrespectful to to just come out and say he it’s from somewhere he isn’t and to guess his wife’s colour of his skin that’s all I’m saying
Here in England, a rag and bone man is someone who comes down your streets on horse and cart to collect your scrap. Usually in metal form, to sell. They actually sing “rag and bone” as they come down your street to announce their presence. Still happens to this day.
Originally they paid for the rags (sold to make paper) and bones (sold to make glue/fertiliser) and then later they just took anything people were throwing out.
Rag n Bone... Whooah Rag Bone! Repeat lol literally got rid of my old washer dryer last month to a rag n bone man.
Youre right we still have a rag n bone man in our street - cant understand a word he says
Haven't seen a rag and bone man for 40 years, glad they're still around. Sometimes you could swop stuff with them. Old clothes, scrap metal, ornaments, anything really.
@@whaleoilbeefhooked663 Yep, this guy seems to do a roaring trade he's always around here
He used to be a Rapper, when someone told him he has a great singing voice. He says he'd try it, and this is the result! ♥️
Wow.
Absolutely amazing voice
Love his "hard came the rain", especially live!
He wrote this himself, he rose from nowhere, talent will always win
No. Hard work will.
@@sarastysamuel clearly you aren't working hard enough
@@exo-man i know I'm not
He writes all his own stuff
Hard work will out-do talent if talent doesn't work hard enough
The look on your face when Jojo was talking about the sonnets, just pure pride. It was sweet! Happy Father’s Day!!
I loved that as well. He had such a look of love and pride. Beautiful. 😊
Ok????? That was a beautiful smile dad had!!!!
Shakespeare the sonnets 🇬🇧
I love how Dad's smile kept getting brighter and brighter.
His voice never falters, very smooth, you can't find fault with his performance
6:55 - That smile that follows - from one proud Dad. 👍
Made my day.
I noticed that too. I think JoJo is referring to poets like Percy Shelley, Walt Whitman, etc; especially when they wrote in quartets.
It’s just AMAZING WHEN UR KIDS ARE SO GROWN🥰🥰 that SMILE🤗💐👍👏🏼. 🙏🌍✌️🇺🇸
Yes, Megan. 😊
He actually started as a rapper and was really struggling, until one day his dad heard him singing in the shower and he said "maybe try singing" this is why the beat and rhythm reminds lots of people of rap.
Also he is such a good dude, before music he cares for the disabled and down syndrome children, just a really solid dude and wholesome guy.
He wanted to be a rapper but his wife said he shouldn't deny the world that singing voice
That was his dad that told him that wasn't it
he does rap with the rum com. they were with him at glastonbury he used to come down to slip jam b in brighton when we all had fun spitting bars it was run by his very good friend tom hines there are utube vids online
He should look up jelly roll and see this type of soulful singing and great rap can go hand in hand
Such a powerful song. Always worth listening to. Also, he’s British to my knowledge and his wife is white. He’s just got a lot of blues in his soul
His song “Skin” was the first thing that I heard from him. Oh my goodness, so good!! This song is just as good if not better. The heavy beat and his gravelly voice…perfection. It’s like you don’t just hear his music, you feel it.😍🤘🏻
Well said.
Ooo i like the song Skin so budiful song
This song really is a bop. You can't listen to it and not bob your head along with the beat. Love it!
The Rag n Bone Man is, in fact, British. Surprise!
That M Night Shyamalan twist!
@@djstockt326 I'm shook that ur comment doesn't have more likes!! That was🔥🔥👏👏😂
Eh, the Brits have always had a great love for Black American music. One of the craziest things, was that it took a white British band to bring Black Blues to White America. Crazy and sad. Because it was right there, but they wouldn’t listen, not until Led Zeppelin.
TIL!
I didn’t know that! He’s really good for sure.
When we see each other as human race, rather than ethnic, we will evolve as a Species. Love this song, and enjoyed the bond and interplay between you two.✌️
When JoJo is talking 'old school folk sonnets' etc... The look of love and sheer pride in your face Van, is a joy to see. Love that you're lovin our Rag and Bone man 👍👏👏👏
Jojo has grown so much as a reactor from when he first started
Proud of you both, Happy Father’s Day Van!!
This song is one of those which are recorded and produced perfectly. Recording the soul into that track. Just perfection. That's why it hits so hard. 🔥🔥🔥
About the 7 minute mark, kiddo is getting it. This song owes a *lot* to old black spirituals and "chain gang" rhythm-keeping songs. You can hear a big gospel influence in there, too. The beat chugging along is just solid. That's a beat you can't move. It's beautiful.
Bro that soul and heartache is in all of us, we all trying our best and need each other. Luv Y'all ❣️
Happy father day Van! Most likely The most positive energy video Of a father and son... Long live LFR!
Van, I hope your son sees the pride that you have for him! The world would be much better if every child knew their parent/guardian held pride for them in what they were becoming!
Love the look of pride on dad's face when he is talking about old school sonnets..don't think you can fake that.
Jojo is such an open minded, bright young man. He will do great things!
He really is!!! I've watched ma y of his reaction videos now and he is so open and aware which is beautiful to see. ❤️💖
Love his voice. So strong, raw and amazing! I hear he’s a supper nice guy too. 💓
Loved this review. Love the song....but what I loved watching the most is a Dad looking at his Son with love and pride. It's heart warming. This was a wonderful video to watch because of that a lone. Happy Fathers day.
Taught himself to sing in the shower. The rest is history. He just dropped a new song with P!nk which is FIRE!
The video wasn't even finished and I added this to my Playlist. What an extraordinary talent. Thank you for this reaction!
Saw him live this week in Camden London. His voice is just as great in real life
He's awesome but he's not from the South he's from The UK and we love him here.
Technically he's from the South of England.
@@rachelbarber8814 Fair point, as he is from Sussex one of the most southerly parts of England, however I think the guys were referring to the good ole south of the US of A, but I'm sure you knew that lol
I've had people argue with me that Rittz who is signed to technine's record label originally done this song but Rag'n'bone man did it a couple years before Rittz
He's AMAZING!! Love him and this song!!💘 Could we trade him for Harry and Megan??
@@lisastark1225 lol as much as I like Harry and Megan I think we'll stick with the current deal
I follow you both and watching you both react to this song, which I love, was fab. The pride on your face as a father realising your sons depth of knowledge was lovely to see. Made my day. 💕🥰
I love this song. Happy Father’s Day!
Wow I AM surprised! Like father like son I guess bc I follow n love u both! Happy Father's Day..love this song.
🖤🖤🖤 Obviously I Love this comment.
What a good ballad. He did his thing though. He's fine tuned his vocal range. I've been blessed to been involved in the music industry. Soul,R&b,hip hop, rap. He's got that r&b ribe right there, with a touch of sussex
HAPPY FATHERS DAY ❤ this a fantastic, favorite song of mine
R&B Man is PHENOMENAL!!! ❤️
I get exactly what Jojo was talking about- early Rhythm and Blues from the 1910s and 1920s. And he was bang on about the time too. Obviously, from that early Rhythm and Blues, there was a split to blues, then that went to rock and roll (and then on to metal). And then there was also gospel and what we now think of as R&B.
And this song combines a lot of all of those influences. He has the soulful bluesy voice, with elements of gospel, and early Rhythm and Blues. Your boy was spot on, and he should be proud.
His got a proper soul voice and it reminds me of some church vibes everyone in the robes singing to this 🙌🏻
They have played the f**k out of this on U.K. radio though lol, he’s British just so you know
You are truly inspirational. Your son is watching you with intensity. What a wonderful example of a great human!
The look in daddy's eyes watching his son talk , got me weeping over here. A whole new appreciation for both of you 💜🦄🎶🤟😎🥰 Perfect video for fathers day, thanks guys!
The song with Pink is deep too! I love a few of his songs but, the song with Pink, you hear the soul of him growing up with our black kings and queens....
Love Rag and Bone Man his story telling is epic
You should listen to him with Pink sing "Anywhere Away from Here". He's got a great voice. What I've read regarding the meaning of the song: “Human” is a song expressing the angst of the human condition and the inability of humans to be perfect or even fix many of the “real problems” in life.
Wonderful reaction, the love and respect you have for each other is is heartwarming ❤UK
It’s awesome you do this with your fam!
Love the relationship and how you finish each other's sentences, Father's pride " Sonnets" 👌. Great singer, love the reaction. Stay Safe.
Folk music sonnets... lol
Great video as always! Happy Fathers day Van!
I love this song and have it on my playlist. I agree with dad that's how I understood the song to be.
7:13
Pride of a father in his baby boy. Joy to my heart. Van. Love ya brosef. ❤️
Lovely to meet you LFR FAMILY..........Both your faces are beautiful when you're listening to our Rag'n'Bone Man.........He's wonderful, his voice is powerful without even trying and some of the woRds of his songs can move you to tears. Check out all his music an when he sang with Pink! He sings from his heart, his beautiful heart xx Jean from Scotland.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there ❤️
America is still Great. Let's pray that we continue to be great.
The "chain" sound reminded me of movies I've seen of slaves that were locked in the bottom of the ships, shackled together and all they had was to sing. Eerie feeling but beautiful song.
Fabulous guys , fabulous reaction, you two own ,RUclips , bless you
My heart is melting watching the amazing father's pride in his awesome son.
The smile and pride on your face when you were listening to your son was BEAUTIFUL
COOL SEEING Y'ALL TOGETHER VAN & JOJO! Happy Day TO Y'ALL!
I'm only human!
I love this song
That is a new way to hit that thang ok over here innovating adding mixture to the hitter I see you
I was born and bred in London rag and bone man is one of the best singers London has to offer
Anywhere Away from Here with PINK!! ACOUSTIC VERSION..hes from Britain.
Your smile just touched my so soul. Happy Daddy..
Also my oldest son is named JoJo.. Also. 😁
Dad you are absolutely right, we all have choice but remember treat people the way you want to be treated
Each of his albums are off the chain. Take a listen. I heard Human at a Best Buy, went to the section and asked the associate who he was. Had to download all his music. This guy is baaaad!!
At first time I heard this song from my wife's phone.) And I said: Damn! His voice vibes up my soul! He's right! We're just are humans, we're do what we can. This is Soul, bros)
This world would be so sad without music ,art in general ❤, dances ❤
Great song. 🔥
Happy Father’s Day, Van! ❤️
You can tell he got his inspiration for black spirituals, church singing. He also mentions the words prophet, messiah.
There are so many talented singers on RUclips that never get air time.....
Rag n bone is MASSIVE in Europe. Massive. Not just a RUclips singer.
I love how great you and your son talk to each other. Dad award!
Soul is soul...birthplace has not a dab of where you come from.
I enjoy seeing you two react together, this was a good one!
Don't get no better than this guys.
I absolutely love the Camerawork in that Music Video.
Love Rag n Bone Man. Really speaks the truth with What's going on out there. Love your guys reaction videos. Keep up all your great work. ❤
Love the song and your comments but also your respect for each other
I knew immediately because I have seen you guys interact before and I have quite a good memory, oh and you'll love this track!
I love him. This guy is perfect
Thanks for the reaction. What an awesome voice! Try his Skin. From the uk, stay safe xx
I purchased this song on iTunes the minute I hear it! Its #1 on my playlist right now.
I loved him from a couple of years ago when I first heard him. He’s amazing
remind me of good memories !
i used to listen to this song while riding in my bike to high school for a half of hour in the fog ☹ I miss that
What a treat to hear such a knowledgeable young man.
Happy any day to you 2 vibing together
Happy Father’s Day!. Don’t stop hitting that thang!
Happy Dad's day Van
One of my favorite songs!
6:57. JoJo didn’t stutter. Whole family seems awesome!
He's the singer in a British rap group Rum Committee. They came on stage with him for one song at his Glastonbury show. His hooks always sounded like they were sampled from old blues records.
why doss this sound so good i wanna cry
The Eagles- Desperado song has all the feeling.
Thanks for checking thus guy out. I think he is awesome.
I discovered this song on Spotify and it’s my go to comfort song
I have watched this particular video many times 😁. The song is epic. So is your family.
Thanks again 🌼. It makes me happy.
The face of a good man filling with joy as he sees more proof that his children will have better lives.
My interpretation of course.
But it’s certain y’all dug it as I did 😁
I came here to say Thank you for sharing !
Happy trails
what i like about how you 2 broke this down after watching it, was that different points of view can be put on these lyrics and you can have different valid interpretations. i guess Great tracks have to have that universal accessibility and can mean anything to the beholder
Happy Father Day. Your son and daughter seem quite nice.
I like this song as it reminds me of the old addage "when you point, there are 3 fingers pointing back at yourself " All I can say is help more people even if just once a day.
Everything about that about that was beautiful… ( love track )Van, the way you looked at your boy with such love as a proud father.. Broke me.. 💙
Check out his cover of Rolling Stones- Gimme Shelter in the bbc radio 1 live lounge, it’s epic
One of the most underrated songs in this millinium.
