NEVER under estimate Moldova. Think Treneletul, think DoReDos. Whenever you think Moldova has come up with a meh entry they COMPLETELTY elevate their staging for the contest. Countries like Moldova, Malta, Ireland have smaller budgets and host their national finals in TV studios, not arenas. It is only when they have their final product that they spend money. This will be elevated enormously, LED backgrounds etc. Totally get your point of the missing eight beat of the backing dancers/non-singers. They have time to rehearse, and now they are competing they WILL.. Don't underestimate this one. On another note, this has a really similar vibe to Fly With Me by Artsvik (Armenia 2017) - perhaps one of my listened to ever ESC songs (studio version preferred)
I like the violin part tbh, it's quite cool However, the song in general is not my cup of tea. Feels incredibly unpolished and I hope they can improve this until May :/ But w/e it's not like bad, it just isn't really as good as the other songs we have so far sadly
