Vacebreaker is my favorite minigame. For a while, that was all I played on PvZ.
I didn't even know the achievement was 15, I thought it was 30. You don't know true ascendance until you reach level 40. Every 10 levels adds an additional Gargantuar.

vasebreaker and izombie were the most fun gamemodes to me, so funny this guy sucks at it so bad taht he dislikes it like this xD i just got the achievements randomly as i played

17:49 I kinda did this from sheer playing it over and over again. I already knew that 2 repeaters took down bucket heads and that squash isn't the best plant ever or that the plantern is either your savior or it's an oracle for bad luck. It's kinda nice to see an early garg since now I know I won't have to worry about any more.

squash is insanely good. it's the garg slayer on the later levels of vasebreaker endless
@Terrible_nameit's insanely annoying to get one when you only have to currently deal with 2 basics and since the zombies are fixed. I don't want to waste a squash but when I don't have it. I start breaking pots looking for it.
@Alternative_hyperspear if you have a squash super early it's often worth it to just break an entire row. If you get a garg you squash it. if you get lots of zombies you put the squash up front to clear the whole row. If it's mostly plants you use the squash in a different row and narrow down the garg spawns

Heres a tip if u ever want to play vasebreaker again: when you plant a reverse repeater on say, column 7, and there are no zombies on the lane, you should plant that reverse repeater on column 7 instead of all the way on the back of the lawn so the reverse repeater's pea hits the zombie faster.

You know what's funny is that vasebreaker would actually be easier in the remake cuz all plants are slightly faster and you get the speed-up button which is very useful in the puzzles
It's not that hard bruh, just use an easy beginner setup like the traditional 4 cob, in the early game, just spam sunflowers and don't kill the zombies too quickly as you need about 6000+ sun in the first 2 flags to begin making your setup
Your survival roof playthrough reminded me of how frustrated I got in survival endless before I realised that pumpkins increase the hitbox size of the plant, which caused zombonis to constantly flatten my glooms

@fishman306yeah, there was a reason why one of the rules in ShyGuyMask's tournament had Doom Shroom banned to balance things out and even then he still considered plants more powerful than zombies

honestly for me i, zombie is the hardest gamemode. I have a 950 flags run in survival endless that I never lost, and i have every single achievement except for better off dead.

@Flamadenit's hardto realize exact threshold for bucketheads on regular gameplay because I usually kill them immediately through chomper or something. I zombie also does that though

The most frustrating thing for me always was the Portal minigame.
I literally could not beat it, because the dang thing was buggy in the mobile version and always crashed the game.
Sometimes it even waited juuuust until you tried to pick up the trophy, but not a single run went uninterrupted. I hated it.
Ladder zombie is rly good in i zombie, if you deal with the magnet shrooms he can tank quite a lot
I have never felt greater pain than when steam achievements bugged out and i had to redo i zombie endless and vasebreaker endless.

Best I could do in Vasebreaker was Level 33, at some point you're really dependent on the cherry bombs.
My strategy usually was to open the lower right three vases and then just stack zombies on top of each other and hit them with a squash at the end. Usually my setup is (from top to bottom) frozen pea, threepeater, peashooter or potatomine with wallnut in front, threepeater and frozen pea.
There's always one exploding zombie and until you find that one either with the lantern plant or by chance you have to always make sure that when you place Repeaters to keep a 3x3 radius of distance so your plants wont get exploded by chance. As soon as that guy explodes tho, you can place the Reapeaters as close as possible so their peas dont have to travel as far and they basically shot a bit faster.
And as for I, Zombie you just gotta get lucky and get the scaredy shroom levels a ton.

Welcome to the club! I enjoyed Vasebreaker as a child, but I definitely HATE it as an adult. Sure, it can be fun, until it isn't. Now, I'm gonna do it all over again in PvZ Replanted when that goes down in price because it's genuinely not worth $20

im the opposite... i beat vasebreaker endless first try and for the life of me still cannot do i zombie endless (and no i didnt learn the stats i just.. saved my squash and went slowly until gargantuars revealed)
Interesting discovery, in first version of pvz1, 1 sun cost 50, not 25. In my opinion, "I, zombie" was made one of the earliest, because, if you make sun cost 50, you may play this really endlessly. The sun you would have, would exactly enough to pass every level.

Joke's on you, I learned the amount of peas it takes every zombie in PVZ to die by my own, just playing the game! And learned how much damage (taking the pea as a reference) each plant makes!

Also, like, the reload time for each plant taking the peashooter as reference, the time the imitater takes to, well, imitate the plant, the time the potato mine takes to arm itself, the speed of zombies while walking compared to the regular one... Y'know, basic stuff

vasebreaker is really easy. maybe you're playing a little too slowly, but really all you have to do is make sure you kill gargantuars. i zombie is pure rng hell

@czar_moss wdym lol. izombie is super luck based. it's basically praying for the chomper imp level so you can save sun. the only strategy is getting the levels that make you spend the least amount of sun.
@frkierantheres RNG but theres more you can do bc you can see the enemies lol. if can prep for a shitty level on izombie (10 levels, 1st 2 or 3 are guaranteed like 1k sun at least) while vasebreaker is much tighter. if you do poorly on any of the first 10~ and use a cherry bomb, then get unlucky once in the next 5, theres a decent chance ur just fucked

I beat most of these in like one week, I guess I'm pretty lucky since I got that scaredy shroom sun jackpot twice.
In the mobile version I'm playing at, last stand endless also has 15 streaks for achievement. I guess streak 15 I zombie would have been too hard. Vasebreaker was kinda fun to be honest, I always break the rightmost pots first since if there's a zombie. There isn't any problem with taking them out since you have all the space in the world, if there's a squash tho. I like to start opening first row pots to release any front row threats.

IDK how long it took me to 100% back when I was 10 but as an adult I 100%ed the game in maybe 20 hours, and I'm not even a particularly strong player.

Vasebreaker is easier, if you only allow one Zombie to spawn per row. Also, start from the back. One of my favourite minigames in the original game.
