Soooooper se ooooper. 'Dali toi sheet burkuche' means Slurping Dali toi & rice. Absolute comfort food. And add to this Lonche (pickle). Direct Soul connection! You showed it exactly the way my mom used to make it. Very easy & simple.
Aamhi GSB lokak dalitoy is a must it is like kuldevi..i remember the days when my children would come home from hostel they would say aayee please we want to eat dalitoy and batata phodi( batata kaap) .
Authentic! There are a few variations from family to family. In our family, we do not use Haldi or Ginger. In some homes, they mash the dhal, but not in our house. We like dhal to retain some of its texture and shape, more than what you have shown here. We are also careful not to over-boil the Dhal after removing it from the pressure cooker. When you boil the dhal more than the bare minimum required, it loses the flavour of the Tur dhal.
Mam as per my knowledge I have seen at ganpati as well swami's food section they don't put turmuric in dalitoy they use green chillies while preapring dal and just astofotedia coconut oil is perfect as well tadka even I belongs to gsb family and be part of volenentor of it
Some people add turmeric in Goa and it gives a very good colour combination of red byadgi chillies, green chillies and currypatta on yellow background.
Mam I m a chitrapur sarawat .n you were bang on with the dalithoy . The only difference was we don't use turmeric.. Anyways I m great fan of yours.best wishes n happy cooking
Thanks A Lot Pacchi. For someone who stays alone, like me, and wants to have a nice meal of Good old Dal-Rice at home, this was like Manna from Heaven..Magale Favourite Dal preparation apart from Ofcourse,Aambat.. If you could also show us how to make Aambat and Batata Songa..
My MIl makes it some other way..after cooking dal, just add water n salt n in tadka, we use grated ginger, green chillies n jeera..after one boil to the daal, we add white indian butter to it. Don’t know now if this daal is called something else
