  • In this video I am packing the Cabin Max Manhattan backpack to take with me on a 5 day day trip to Italy. I flew with Ryanair and had only paid for the personal item (which is 45x25x20cm), so packing everything I needed for staying in a hostel into this small bag was a struggle.
Full disclaimer I did end up buying a different bag when I arrived in Italy as the zip broke on this one; check out my review of the Decathlon bag I bought as a replacement here: • REVIEWING THE £5.99 DE...

I travelled with Ryanair in June and I wore a sleeveless vest with pockets to put all the things I would put in a everyday bag. I got it off Amazon, there are a few RUclipss on how to do it. The airlines cannot stop you as it is clothing.

@@susanburke8722 I tried this while packing but I am finding the vest I have to be too big and bulky to add to my 8kg backpack after the flight. Soooo, back to the drawing board for me for those few extra kg that don’t fit in my backpack.

@@adventureswithmegan I just bit the bullet and booked priority boarding both ways. That gave me a small case for the overhead cabin. I did take a travel vest, but as you say, i took it off at my destination and put it in the case and took out a sling bag to put my personal things in. I hope you find a solution and enjoy the trip.

@@susanburke8722 yes that makes sense. Top tip if you’re flying with Ryanair it’s usually cheaper to add a carry on without the priority (it’s the step after priority and is usually about £15 to add just the case and not priority boarding or seat selection)

How much did that weigh? Most companies now have weight limits for carry ons. I'm going to Japan next year and will have to fit everything into a 32 L. 😅

@@catarixpto sorry I didn’t weigh it as Ryanair don’t weigh your bag but definitely under 10kg as I could very easily lift it. Have a great time in Japan 🇯🇵

I've found that with the exception of a few Asian budget airlines, most airlines won't actuallly weigh your carryons, and if you're wearing a backpack, 32L looks small enough on most people's frames to fly under the radar.

I just managed to pack a 8kg bag for a 35 day trip to Europe. Whew! It was a lot of work. A 32L bag will most likely be fine for your trip. I have 35L bag and it isn’t full. I made an unlisted packing video for my friends.

@@blessingaliu123 which one? The orange one for my electronics is 1L, as is the one with my portable charger in. The blue one I’ve had for years and years so I don’t know exactly but I would imagine 3-5L. I don’t know where you’re based, but in the UK they sell them in outdoor shops and usually have a range of sizes. Definitely very handy and I’m a big fan of using them to keep my liquids away from my electronics.

You must have read my mind! Was looking for a real just 1 small bag packing video..most just say that then produce a 2nd bag!!! I want to try the plastic compression bag idea rather than compression material bags next time. I love Italy been 26 times by now.. enjoy..❤❤ I alwaya used cabinmax 55 size wheel on but now too big for easyjet since changed rules. Metz 30l will be next step. For short term looks doable but not for winter summer long term plus a stock of my meds...etc!!

@@user-de1qj6nl3w I don’t know how I could travel with just 7kg. That pretty much forces you to have a checked bag.
