The texture of reformed gymchalk is mostly about the original gymchalk not the technique. I literally sift, add water, mix to a pourable paste and let it dry. You can see paste making videos in my MINDPEACE Tutorials playlist.
I don’t use a dehydrator which I think affects the texture but means you have to wait a long time for it to air dry. These were air drying for weeks in hot weather. If you start with a soft gymchalk the reform will be soft. If you start with harder gymchalk you’ll need to add laundry softener or a little cornstarch for a softer reform. If you use I dehydrator I can’t give advise as I don’t know how it affects mixes. Hope that’s helpful 😊
