That call with JJ at the end struck me as pretty light. In a three way all in you're almost never good there. You needed to hit that set to win 9 out of 10 times
I agree...hell I fold two kings in that spot easy. Without flinching. And he doesn't have the jack of hearts...meaning one of his potential outs completes the most obvious draw. He got super lucky...
I think we can pretty confidently call vs the original jammer since it's unlikely somebody just rips it with a set with under 2 SPR and he is very capped pre-flop. The raiser coming over the top makes absolutely no sense. Why raise the big overbet with a nutted hand when you can flat and try not to scare Lex off? If we think he is almost always putting in the 4! with QQ+ I think JJ is usually ahead vs this player. It's an uncomfortable spot but both players are not playing this like they have a set and they almost never have overpairs based on pre-flop action.
I dunno but if I'm playing within my bankroll and vs two action players in that spot, also considering the action pre-flop, I'm gritting my teeth but definitely calling there with the overpair.
@@stephpom5373he said "shortly after this, I ended up racking up" - but "shortly" could mean 30 or 45 minutes, which I don't believe is bad etiquette. Or the game might have been breaking up. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
Wow, I couldn’t have done it myself. Even 2 action players have it occasionally. Did either one show their lower set? It’s about time you had some good luck too. Keep plugging away
Honestly...I watched until the 2nd JJ hand. This is the poster child for play bad run good. You easily could have been drawing to one out on the flop and you put in all those chips. As it turns out you had two outs. Great for entertainment value but no one is learning solid poker from these plays, IMHO.
Barring a sliver of QQ he is always ahead vs the guy who raises over the jam. He is never ever raising over the big overbet with a set and he is always putting in the 4! with KK/AA pre-flop, so what hand are you worried about? He will have a couple combos of QQ and plenty of flush draws that we are beating.
Impressive play with the JJs at the end... What did you put them on? I figured one had a set (maybe top top) and the other a flush draw with such a disconnected board. Or were they just that loose that 2 pairs were possibilities on that texture? I think I fold there assuming I'm no good and lose out on all that profit.
Can’t you just see the old man sitting there saying, “Nice catch, kid. Keep it up and you’ll be broke by Christmas.” Of course there’s nothing sweeter than getting all your money in bad and then catching that two outer for the win.
I might be wrong but I’m guessing the hijack had a pair with one heart and the button player had a 10 , so I don’t see why this was a bad call and how Lex got lucky ?
2 mistakes on the 5-6. #1 Should have folded pre/flop #2 don’t try to bluff the players described as sticky. I make same mistakes but l getting better. Congrats on the big win !
Yep. Especially with the flop, there’s really no stright draw so only flush draw and both players having flush draw seems unlikely. It’s more probable that one player has insane equity like A3hh and another has something like QQ or TT, KT, AT etc. all of these have more than 70% combined equity aginst JJ. Hell, A4 or A3hh has 55% equity to JJ’s 45%. Even with a drawing hand you are only flipping.
A couple weeks ago on the last hand of the night I ended up in a 3 way all in with pocket 5’s in a 1/3 game pot was about 2k and they held up without improving. I’ve only been playing 2 years and I don’t get to play as much as I would like but I’ve come to realize that being fearless is one of the most important parts of this game. I have a awesome career so I get to play without really worrying about the money so much but I study the game all the time and do my best to fix issues in my game. And you RUclips guys are the reason I even started playing. I figured if you guys can do it so can I.
@@Seriously_Eh, I played once over 7 years ago, it sucked. If you don't speak Spanish, it's not any fun. I've more on my trips to Florida. I live 5 hours away from San Jose.
Very nice huge pot there with the JJ, its a thrill when you know deep inside this is the dream spot. Two action players with wide ranges have comitted all their money and you are likely ahead in a massive pot. The 56cc hand though was a big punt imo. You described the player as a tough sticky reg, and i dont think going off with zero equity bluffs for stacks against a sticky callinghappy player is a good adjustment.
That Call with a single over-pair against an All-in + re-Raise was a tribute to your underlying bankroll management. If that was your mortgage or rent payment for 3-months, you'd have had to grudgingly fold. Glad you have the resources to withstand $12,000 swings.
"Cashout" amount is a meaningless metric and there is no point in even mentioning it or paying attenttion to it, Lex. You could be in a game for $25,000 and then say you cashed out for $25,100, which sounds like "a great day" of poker, but you're only up $100. I understand this game only has a cap of $2,500, but you could be on your 3rd deep buy in, in for $7,500 and cash out for $10,000, which is misleading. Mentioning your in and out numbers ifs plenty sufficient.
Great vlog but the 4 bet with 5c6c was kind of ridiculous with effective stack sizes. You needed to be ~12K effective to justify it. Just calling the 4 bet would be okay-ish, if not great. Using a 20x multiplier effective stack size is a good guide to whether or not to play low suited connectors. This was info widely known in the early 2000s, so it's strange you're not loosely applying it as a guide.
If you have want to increase your subs fast, do what Wolfgang poker did 6 months ago, started making short viral shorts with silly editing like "bang, poww" etc and he went from 20k to 600k in a few months.. That'll be 500$ 😉
My best guess is the first guy had ace 10 and then the second guy had queens? It’s goes limp, raise, 3-bet, call, call, check, open jam? I’m guessing kings and aces 4 bet, sometimes people get sneaky with queens and call a 3-bet. Then the guy with ace 10 was jus trynna take it down on the flop
Lex! I was yelling at the screen for you to fold! Then you went all in and I just about had to turn off the video! Congratulations on your win!, I was so stressed out! I wish I could hit the thumbs up a 100 times! Enjoy your weekend!
Well you were bad on the flop, behind on the turn and sucked out the river. Great play, but just doing a 10k blackjack hand would have been mathematically better.
He called you on that 5-6 hand because he's probably watched your recent videos. I am not a pro but I have learned that you do NOT have to win every hand, esp. with inferior holdings. A not so small 'leak', That said I watch all of your videos and believe you provide great content and wish you all the best.
Wow! Awesome bounce back, but you are still too cheap to buy workout gloves to protect your hands from blisters? I actually work for a living and gloves are required! And if you were to shake my hand, you would feel and see how soft and smooth they are, almost like I don't work at all! My ex girlfriend, when she held my hand for the first time, was so surprised that she said my hands are like a woman's hand! Do it for the vlog and you'll wish that you did it sooner! 🤔
I am a follower for more than one year now. The main JJ hand may not be even borderline. You are too deep to make that move. Also, your sum up of the night, you said forget about previous sessions and then said “go to the table and get your money back”! That is also a thinking you should avoid. Never go to the table and try to get your money back. Go to the table and play your best poker, know the maths e.g. GTO, ranges etc. Live may be a bit different when you benefit from live tells. Lucky session! I still like your vlogs but poker wise not the best play.
Rule #1 - If you’re occupied thinking about your bankroll then you are playing outside of your bankroll. Rule #2 - ‘There are’ is used for plural nouns instead of ‘there is’ which is for singular nouns. Eg. ‘There _are_ a lot of regular pros at the table and there _are_ two fun action players on my right.’ I’d be so proud of you if you ever found this line.
The JJ call was really bad imo... felt like you needed to hit a Jack to win the pot... and even then.. one of Jacks you needed was a J of hearts... if they didnt have the flush when that J came out, you were nosr definitely way behind... my guess is someone else allready had a set, and the other one with a higher over pair then yours... you got extremely lucky...
That J9 suited guy sucks, not afraid to say it. He's 100% a losing player doing that. You'll get him next time, and there will be a next time with that guy.
