  • Watch the key highlights from Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League win against West Ham at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Jarrod Bowen equalised close to half-time. In the second-half, a brilliant Darwin Núñez volley restored the Reds' lead, with Diogo Jota adding a third with a close range finish.
Salah's goal means he's now had goal involvements in 12 consecutive Premier League games, twice. He's the first player in Premier League history to achieve this.

Szoboszlai seems to be a special talent and fortunately he is surrounded by world-class players. He's probably a time traveler who came back from the future just to stop Manchester City's march through the Premier League and Europe. He dominated the midfield so much yesterday that even the tireless Tomas Soucek breathed in his ear and Moyes had to replace him. It is lucky that Szoboszlai can be a part of Liverpool's resurgence. The man of the match yesterday was the team because everyone gave a classy performance. ynwa

There was a chance we had in this game where we were on the counter attack and Nunez positioned himself where a high ball was played to him and he headed it down to Salah who made a run through to pass to Diaz and I was just blown away by Nunez' awareness and playmaker ability.

This is a game where i like to see how Liverpool midfield plays when they are facing bigger and stronger opponents physically.
To start, Jones is playing a game worthy to be called a Liverpool player. He's doing everything right in this West Ham game. He's running into space, he's back defending, he's taking passings and he is definitely pushing forward. He got my vote starting against Spurs next week. Deserved the rousing clap from the Kop when substituted. Delighted in his game.
Macalister is a suspect today. He's been pushed around in midfield today. To be fair, he's getting better. Passing needs to be quicker and he will improve further, especially adapting to the speed of the Premier league. Nearly gave a penalty but fortunate he got a touch to the ball.
Gomez was ok in the first half. But his going forward left gaps which the slower Matip could not cope. Right back was exposed at least 3 times. Liverpool is adapting to the 3-4-3 at times, probably Klopp knowing the midfield needs to be shored up with the bigger West Ham players trying to muscle the midfield, something Moyes is inclined to in his game. Gomez needs to read the game better. 2nd half he's back to cover, so all's good!
This should be the last season for Matip. Klopp's assistants need to identify one or probably two strong CB(s) for next season. He's a good servant Matip is, but you need to refresh your squad every two (or three) seasons, as the great Sir Bob Paisley is known to call for.
I've always fancy players that comes in from the bench and electrifies the game. Gakpo deserves two thumbs up here. He's just a special talent. He creates chances for himself where there is none. If he works hard, he will be unique! Reminds me a lot of the great Peter Beardsley!
Again, i need to reiterate, Liverpool needs to find ways to improve against bigger opponents. We had many draws last season because of this! Coming back from goal deficits also cannot continue for we will be caught out one day, more so when we meet top sides, both in the premier league and especially in Europe. Thankfully not today. The Hammers deserved something better, they had at least three good chances to take the game to Liverpool. I like Paqueta's play today from the opponent's side.
MOTM? i think Szobo by a mile. He looks so at ease controlling the midfield, and his passings gives the lads confidence. That cheeky turn to try find Salah just before the final whistle, sums up everything about him! Very intelligent player. Whoever in the talent scout spotted him, deserved two raises! To put things in perspective also, Diaz deserved a mention too for his tireless workrate, both in attack and notably, in defence!
Our wide players today did their job. But of course, we want our lads to keep chase with City! Deserved win to the lads. 3-1 result is good to keep the pace.
    This is my analysis. YNWA

Good analysis, mate 👍. What's your take if TAA is fit next week and he v Son. Should Klopp keep it tight and hold the same back line?

    • @lkc121
      @lkc121 8 месяцев назад

@@dickdiver9614 I think the back formation will be Robbo-VVD-Ibou-TAA against Spurs. Son has mastered what David Silva does at City previously ie to play in the lines between the midfield and back four. Whereas Silva is a passer, Son is both the passer & finisher! So Son is very versatile in that sense. Whilst Son has license to roam in the centre, TAA has not, with the RB needing his attention. I think will fall on Ibou to keep him out with MacAlister playing deeper. Would actually love to see Endo breaking up play, but i think according to Klopp's substitution choices so far, he's not ready!

Great win ! It's so nice to see Klopp slowly but shurely assembling a coherent and performing squad.
Mohammed Salah was brilliant and I'm so pumped up to see his hunger and his dribbles. He seems to enjoy himself on the pitch and it's not a secret that it's the recipe for longevity.
I've really loved Joe Gomez's "redemption" and I've been very much impressed by Curtis Jones; he was cool on the ball, physical and relentless.
