Battle Realms - tips for PVP multiplayer, get better at early game

A bit late on this but I would appreciate more of these types of BR guides.
I play casually and have never played against other players before, it's nice to equip myself with knowledge on how to play BR.

Yea, map contest and resources are pretty good reasons to be offensive ngl, but i can see that tower sometimes needed in early game too. Tower rush for example lol

Yes absolutely, sometimes towers might be needed , specially if you are having a team game and you have like a really bad position on the map. And tower rush would be considered as a pro active play more then a passive play. The purpose of this is more to encourage players to be more daring and aggressive.

It's kind of sad that an RTS like this only has one viable early game strat. It's supposed to be a strategy game with options, having one single early game strat and not being able to switch it up with different approaches in the early game, makes it a little bit dull

Well that wouldn't be exactly true that there is only 1 early game strategy. There are many things you can do early game , but there will be one or two strategies that will be more successful then the others for the most part at least in most scenarios.
Rush is a good training to play this game faster overall which is exactly how best players play the game "fast". and of course if you can't keep up and you are "slow" you have no chance against the best players.
