There a quite a few Christian metal bands from the 80's that sound like other bands...of course X Sinner (AC/DC - Cinderella), Barren Cross (Iron Maiden), Whitecross (Ratt), Saint (Judas Priest), Sacred Warrior (Queensryche), to name a few. I don't know if I can compare them to anyone, but my favourite X-tian thrash band was Deliverance.
These guys were my first concert, back in the day, and they were awesome! Not just a great show, but they were great guys as well. The guitar player was cool enough to talk to me for a long time about guitar and music in general. Even though that was over 20 years ago, I'll never forget how cool he was to a little kid, nor the advice he gave. I'm so glad they're still doin it; ROCK ON BROTHERS!!
I used to prank my friends with this track, "Why yes, it is AC/DC. Where have you been?" All my other friends were familiar with Dave Robbins from "It's a Jungle Out There", so no prankish joy to be had.
I've heard a lot of Christian metal, big fan of Leviticus,Jerusalem,Stryper,Bloodgood etc etc.Never heard these guys before. One word.Amazing.Shall listen out for more of there stuff. Thanks for posting this.
Like the band x sinner even thy people says you can't mix christian lyrics with heavy metal unless doesn't have cussing in it . People are deceived need Jesus.Have Www.newlifefire.org
I had both their albums…loved them! Went looking for them on Spotify…can’t find them….liked to but the cd’s again….wish they were in publish! They are a great flashback to my earlier years!
I got to take some medicine... gotta take it today. Vitamin C too. When I first heard this song on cassette, early 90's, was blown away. Later found the CD, it is still great to rock to, wow, it has been over 20 years already. Well, time goes by I guess.
Malcolm and Angus Young developed the idea for the band's name after seeing the initialism "AC/DC" on the back of a sewing machine owned by their older sister, Margaret Young. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation for "alternating current/direct current". The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy, power-driven performances, and a love for their music.
Cinderella vocals on the harder edge, but AC/DC riffs on the guitar, I guess it's easy to compare when you're looking for a comparison, but really, they are their own band. You could also add early Def Leppard to their rep if you wanted to look at it. Music in this genre, so much is not so easy to define. So many seek, only so many find the truth. Just enjoy it for what it is. :)
@greenlightone yeah i also think the vocals sound like Cinderella...but the riffs combined with the vocals gives the ACDC sound. I think Tom Keifer's vocals could have easily fit into ACDC..))lol, maybe...
@wesleyapril just to give you some yo look up: Disciple, Brian 'Head' Welch, Decyfer Down, Red, Thousand Foot Krutch, Tourniquet (one of the best, my opinion), Skillet, Demon Hunter, there are a lot of others. Look them up on Wikipedia.
Lyrics: Sitting on the freeway, the traffic has stopped, and things ain't going okay, My head is always burning, my brain is getting hot; bought me some aspirin today. I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah, it's gonna make me okay, I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah - I'm gonna take it today. Went to work on Monday, healthy as can be, when a slob sneezed in my face, I started feeling dizzy, sneezy and congested; got me some vitamin C. I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah, it's gonna make me okay, I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah - I'm gonna take it today. Gimme some medicine. Feeling pretty small, guess I've just been lazy, I shouldn't have waited, Finally heard the call, people think I'm crazy, The time is now - stop waiting. I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah, it's gonna make me okay, I'm gonna take some medicine, yeah - I'm gonna take it today. Give me some medicine, yeah, I'm gonna take it today, Today.
Yeah the song " Save Me " by Cinderella , but the rest of Xsinner is all AC/DC and I would love if Xsinners vocalist witnessed to AC/DC's singer. Does anyone know the meaning behind AC/DC ? it will shock you.
I actually love AC/DC and other rock bands, but hate "the rock and roll lifestyle". I have my moral standards and belive in God, even though AC/DC lyrics are sometimes against that what I belive in. I just don't do those things.
This recording is SO much better than the re-release on Loud and Proud! Freaking LOVE this band! I’m depressed that I can’t find this album for less than $50 on disc! 🤣😣😭
Barren Cross is one of the best christian metal bands bar none! Another great band is SAINT, I have live footage of the HELL BLADE concert from last year where SAINT filmed their official music videos. Feel free to check them out on MetalCrossTV. BARREN CROSS ROCKS!! MetalCrossTV
Well, I think that because of the songs that they play, a lot them have to do with hell not being so bad, and they even said themselves they are on the highway to hell.
This 1's too spice up the Meytal Cohen drum 💃🏻🥁 studio 😷😎👍 in appreciation for all she does also HAPPY HANUKAH❤️🐝💫🌎🕎 😁🤗😗😘💃🏻 Aweeeha Sugar just thinking of you 🙂💭 💊💉✅❤️ YEY!!!
I prefer to think of it like this. The whole thing is ironic, some metal is about aggression and rebellion, while most of it is about partying and doing what you want. This is the opposite of the message of christianity. This being said, christian metal is hard to take seriously because it seems like an oxymoron.
I take it you never listen to AC/DC, and just live in your circle of blind hatred based on stereotypes created by other people who know nothing of Rock n' Roll???
Just because lyrics don't talk about God doesn't necessarily mean they're glorifying themselves neither anyone else. Lyrics can be about anything and the listener is the one who primarily gives it its own meaning depending on his belief and cultural surrounding to which he was influenced by all his life, affecting his personal view on song lyrics. And by the way, what if the artist wants to take credit for his own work? He has the right to feel proud of his own artistic creation. Just because of that he is now considered to be worshipping satan? Because by that logic, anything that isn't glorifying God, its because is glorifying someone else (satan). If I do something that I'm really good at, that I enjoy and people love it, I assure you that I´ll be proud of myself and I´ll be showing off to everyone all the time. And guess what, I thank God for that and he surely thanks me for being myself. But you wouldn´t know that because that´s my intimate relationship with God and no one else.
The guy who sings this, Dave Robbins, is my uncle! Great album!
Beau Troutman Tell your uncle an old fan said "thank you" for making my younger days better. Awesome voice
fully agreed this is a great album with old school hardrock ! great voice !
Great voice!
Same here! I bought this CD when it came out in the 80s when I was a kid. I had all kinds of people liking this album. It's still good.
Great voice
We need this in 2024!!! Bring it back!!! Spread the Gospel through ROCK!!!!

And we were glad they did. And we're often times better, especially if you considered the lyrics.
Can't stop listening to this album👍👍👍🎸🎧🎹

A neat cross between Cinderella and AC/DC -- singing for the Son!!

@gustovo10912: I see what you did there. Epic. Love it. Love it. 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 For Jesus. 🤲😇🙏🏻🤗🙌
I saw these guys back in 1990 in Cleveland, Ohio. They opened for Deliverance. Great show. Both bands blew the roof off of the place.
Funny thing... I used to work with the lead singer of Deliverance, Jimmy Brown... but he went by John, back then.
Wish I could have been there for that concert back then. Deliverance was my jam.
i was in elementary school when i bought this at the mustard seed christian book store. i still love this album.
I've heard a lot of Christian metal, big fan of Leviticus,Jerusalem,Stryper,Bloodgood etc etc.Never heard these guys before. One word.Amazing.Shall listen out for more of there stuff. Thanks for posting this.

I'm sure it's already been said 1000 times, but whoever thought these guys sounded like AC/DC have never heard Cinderella!

I'm sure if I was sick I would take some medicine.I don't know what else this song means but I love this song.
The sickness is Sin and the medicine is Jesus it's a metaphor.

I needed to find a compensation for AC/DC. I have found it!

@armortron Not medicine for AC/DC fans. The title is medicine and the song for AC/DC fans. But interesting interpretation ;-)
AC/DC with the fun taken out.

like X Sinner very underrated
kinda sounds like Tom Kiefer from Cinderella
Rex Carrol and Scott Wenzel!!
Sounds like a mix of Brian Johnson and the dude from KIX
an Antiviral Review on Chaga, Reishi, various Polypore Mushrooms
I always thought the singer from x-sinner sounded more like the lead vocalist from Kix.
Highway To Heaven
Put this on a disc, make fake cd packaging that says "AC/DC's Lost Album" and put it on Ebay then make huge money :D I do like it alot though
Well, I think that because of the songs that they play, a lot them have to do with hell not being so bad, and they even said themselves they are on the highway to hell.
hey... another band (an oldie though) is white cross.
@ChuckMock I LOVE AC/DC and if they went towards Jesus Christ OHH MY That would be so awesome
I liked this first vocalist much better than the guy who replaced him. The second guy sounded more like Bon Scott.
Yeah but the second guy is named Rex Scott
So are there more heavy metal groups that are Christian? I love Ac/DC Van Halen type of music - but wouldn't rather listen to the lyrics...... :)
Yeah totally for real, he has an x-sinner tattoo on his forearm and it's in California Orange County
@BOUKEBANDSTRA you have forgotten Chris Impellitteri and Rob Rock, Mr. Impellitteri is the best guitarist of today to my taste!!!
@Bseven1True! But has far as music being a medium; I would say X - Sinner did the most good and did a greater justice for the youth of a nation! lol!
how the heck is he doing that
Rex works at Home Depot with me
Can he get me some Medicine.....? Are you for real? What state?
joshjames76 sorry didn't know how to properly reply but yes in california orange county
Is he still a Christian?

can barely understand the lyrics, oh well, it does sound good.
Just my personal opinion... I always thought they sounded more like Cinderella... lol!
AC/DC got saved???? lol Wow. This song. Seriously.
+Divine Insurrection the drummer from ac/dc just got off on a murder charge
I prefer to think of it like this. The whole thing is ironic, some metal is about aggression and rebellion, while most of it is about partying and doing what you want. christian metal thats good the showdown look them up
not only ac/dc but also def leppard

the only difference is one glorifies themselves and the other glorifies GOD
