Radiation does nothing except destroying DNA, so people(realistically) should throw up ans then die, radiation cannot mutate a living being by itself, radiation might mutate its ancestors though, but I don't think it will be implemented in such a way🤷‍♂️

Update: you can also try using cooling elements and radiator on inside pipes (they're easier to see in temperature mode(press T))

You have to keep an eye on temps, set the cooling to maximum and connect some cooling elements or radiator to the pipes
