these guys facts are wrong. both parties have stated in press that Jackie might appear in the 4th one and that because jackie is so busy he didnt have the time to dedicate to the movie now and Jackie and sly are really good friends actually so this makes no sense.. and Bruce also had scheduling conflicts. and this is crucial because there are so many stars they had a strict schedule as to when they could dedicate time to each actor to film their scenes as they never all filmed on the same day.

Mel was offered the chance to direct the film but declined? I wish he did direct it because it would have been brilliant!
I think he was most likely asked to decline,his reputation at the time was somewhat bad,so it probably could have affected overall sales of tickets e.t.c.

+Scott Pierce In all honesty, Expendables 3 grossed over 200 million in total and they thought it would get even more. 1 million is only .5% of that, so it really isn't a completely ridiculous demand in Hollywood terms.
