I love NYC during a blizzard. It's the only time I voluntarily walk through Times Square. And the way the wind swirls the snow around when it hits the buildings is crazy. The snow comes at you from every direction. It's not most people's cup of tea, but I love it.
As much as I love the summer months, I will admit that the winter time is pretty special. And there's something about a good snow storm that I just love! Thanks for watching!
I moved out in 2015. I miss everything about New York, except for snow! I don't miss this at all! I'll watch from the comfort of my Florida living room, thank you very much!
Hands down some of the best NYC snow storm / blizzard footage out there! I know shooting in those conditions was miserable for you a few times, so my hat's definitely off to you!!!
Glad you enjoyed my video! Thanks so much for watching. And yes, there's something really awesome about snow in NYC. Especially during the holiday season when the city is all dressed up.
fall/winter are my absolute favs. I can dig a nice summer day just like the next guy but I'm the type of guy who appreciates a snowy, cold, winter--picturesque theme with a nice hot cup of hot coco. The holidays especially. Bah humbug to summer. Bring the cool crisp evenings and the autumn leaves.
Yes, me as well! This year, the winter forecast ain't looking too good lol. But, that doesn't mean we can't see one or two good storms this season. We shall see. Thanks for watching!
This is why I want to visit New York in the winter! I'm from London, UK and we hardly ever have snow storms like this. The past few years we've been lucky to even have any snow.
2011 was a brutal year. Nor Easters and blizzards back to back. We were snowed in my building in the South Bronx. Couldn't get out for two days. When we finally got out the snow literally was piled 3-5 feet high in some places.
@ExtremeSpinner99 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! Just a few days from official winter here in the US. Excited to see what this winter has in store for us. All the best
I'm from North West England, we do have our share of snow, more than the south. The worst winters in the last few years were 2009/2010 when it kept it up from Nov til Jan and most nights taxi's and buses didn't run. The next really big snowfall came Feb 2013 when the gritters and snow plows gave up, it was just too much for them. The M61 motorway just a mile away from me had to close while traffic was stuck in the snow and the motorists all got out of their cars and had a snowball fight while they waited to be rescued!
I really miss that scenery here in Washington DC! It's been over two years since we saw snow like that (the February 4-6th 2010 Snowmaggedon Blizzard). And since then, a lot of close calls like the December 2010 Storm that completely missed us, and the following January blizzards that affected New England. Last winter (2010-2011) and this winter (2011-2012) have been a complete dud for all of us down here. Even though people up by New York got a hell of alot of snow in 2010-2011 season.
@BlueOnRS Not looking good for a white Christmas at least here in NYC, but still have the entire winter ahead of us for big snows! Hope we get at least one or two good ones! Hope you see some big snows there again this year too! All the best
Great video! Hope it'll be a nice white christmas for you ;) Lots of rain here, and its almost christmas =\ last year we had 50-60cm of snow here around this time, it took 4-5 weeks to completely melt. Was awesome ^^
@vmax135 Thanks so much Michael! And yes, lol.....blizzards and snow storms are my least favorite to shoot due to the extreme cold and miserable conditions! But I always have a great sense of accomplishment once I get home and warmed up lol
I'm from Wilmington Delaware and I remember the St. Patrick's day weekend blizzard I got stuck driving in going to NYC. I'm not sure of the year. I think 2010 or 2011. Ice, snow. It was awful. It took me 9 hours to drive back to Delaware. Does anyone from my area remember when this happened?
I sometimes feel the same way about the 1970s believe it or not. Back then I was still just a child, but then I realized that if I was old enough to enjoy the 1970s, I'd be even older than I am now LOL. Enjoy your youth while you have it, and thanks for watching!
@@ScottMcPartlandNYC being a 16 year old sucks now because of how sensitive everything is and because of this new social media garbage and how the people my age act now
@mrwhatsitoya I'm definitely missing the snow this year too!! We pretty much haven't had a winter at all here...we went from summer, to fall, and then just stayed there lol
@Lightningofthegods Definitely no big snows for at least a week or two but still plenty of time for a big ass kicker or two! Glad you liked the video and thanks so much for watching!
@CfEXenoN Definitely not starting out that way, lol. But, I still think we'll see one or two big ones this winter. Last year was exceptional so I'm not expecting a repeat. But, you never know! Thanks for watching!
I'm from Canada, Montreal, so we get stuff like this all the time, we're use to it. While I understand these people are not, what kills me are the little things that anyone should really understand if they just thought about it. You are probably driving on summer tires, 4 seasons at best. Even winter tires are not going to get you through ice, no winter tire in the world can so when they say to stay off the roads, for god's sake stay off the roads! Dress for the occasion, warm parkas, hat's hoods's, face warmers, gloves... Any exposed skin with winds at over 50 and temperatures below freezing should be covered. Stay away from the sides of high rise buildings when walking, snow and ice accumulates on high buildings fast, once they get too heavy they break off from their perches and fall. People here in Montreal get injured or killed every year by falling ice. Advice from someone who lives this every year? STAY HOME, INDOORS, monitor your roof tops for buildup and if it get's more than a couple of feet of wet snow, CLEAR it before it collapses. Hang in there!
+Andrew Vautour You are right in that many people are not prepared here for this type of weather. Even in our recent blizzard, I saw people out driving in their two wheel drive Honda's, which were getting stuck everywhere. What are you thinking?? LOL
Andrew Vautour thanks for your much needed advice because since NYC is located in the tropics and it only snows once every 7 years we're completely clueless. We've been dealing with snow here since the begining of time and our snow totals are up in the last decade from 26 inches to nearly 50 inches. Its only half of what much of Canada gets but NYC always dusts itself off from any snow strom faster than most Canadian cities who stay shut down for days. Most New Yorkers are very much accostomed to digging themselves out so you can send your advice to our friends in beautiful Georgia who are never prepared. But here in the Tri-State area we can take care of ourselves.
This is some series snow, what we got this year is nothing! Here is the footage I personally recorded for this years "storm" ruclips.net/video/K_b-Mg9ENFc/видео.html
Eric Jacob I didn't have a lot of footage from 2001/2002, nothing really good anyways as those winters were pretty tame. So I started with 03 and just generalized with them being over the last decade. Thanks for watching!
It's not about 'sharing' the video, that's totally fine, it's about media outlets downloading, and airing it on television or during news broadcasts, without consent or payment to the creator. Which they do all the time. Hence why I watermark all my videos. And this does have a copyright watermark on it (bottom left) and the footage is registered with the Library Of Congress Copyright Office.
Before the year 2006, this use to be the norm from Dec to Feb in nyc. And I had to attend school in this kind of condition. Now, the government is like being super safe about it. Ambert: ...non-emergency...off road. Just walk, skip and hop for joy; ❄angles anyone? Of course, phones and all had adjusted our tolerance to adapt.
Harsh? I love nice, long, hot summers. If it's something you would rather have a big one of, would you rather it be a winter or a summer? I want a big summer, hands-down, no competition! Especially with 2011-12 being an "up" year for me. Who the heck wants to have a summer in the 50s, 60s, and 70s all the time?
If you dont have to work it seem like suicide wishes if you go outside ;) Not the weather condition is so dangerous, but this weather in combination with so much people on the streets, so much cars and trucks = very dangerous !

You and I both Mark! Nothing like a good blizzard experience in the heart of NYC.
you have no idea how much I want to live in a place with such winters. I used to , but not anymore... and I miss it so much

watching this on a super hot summer day. man I miss the winter right now.
for more effect to my body, i watch this in front of my opened refrigerator. :'D
Haha open up the freezer, too, that'll help.

I put this on full screen and mute it, then play my christmas station on pandora and let it play over and over. It's so perfect. Thank you.

I love thunderstorms so summer is my favorite season, but I do enjoy a good blizzard too! Thanks for watching!
Love the hustle and bustle of all the people in the storm.
Yep haha, NYC is the city that never slows down, even in a blizzard. Thanks for watching!
Moved from Wisconsin to Arizona 15 years ago. I really miss it from Dec 1 thru Dec 25
Yeah I don't mind the snow at all either! Makes the winter interesting and like you, I don't mind shoveling it either! Keeps me in shape!

Yeah they predict we will because of how harsh the summer was. So I look forward to winter...
I like how the bus stops for the people to get on. Here in Calgary the bus drivers dont care about you
In New Jersey you could literally be standing right at the pole, but if you don't wave the driver down, they will drive past you.

Our original yellow/orange plates were in the 1970s, but the reissues I believe were 2011. Not positive though.
