Shakeel Mohamed et ses propos ont été l’un des axes abordés par Anil Gayan lors de son intervention durant les débats sur la réforme électorale. Qui énumérait des exemples des points de vue contradictoires du député de Port Louis Maritime/Est.
Faux, s’est exclamé le principal intéressé. Qui assume le fait de s’être prononcé en faveur de ce projet de loi. Le ministre Gayan n’en a pas fini et aborde cette fois les propos «communaux» du député travailliste. « What communal ?» entend-on du côté des rouges. «Il a ouvert le débat», rétorque la Speaker.
Shakeel Mohamed proteste, de plus en plus vivement. A tel point que la Speaker finit par suspendre la séance, le temps de vérifier les propos du parlementaire. PPlus d’une demie-heure plus tard, la décision tombe : le ministre Gayan peut réfuter les propos de Mohamed le concernant. Toutefois, les attaques personnelles sont à proscrire.
