Pat is Martina’s idol. She always has said that Pat is her inspiration.
According to an interview Martina did it was her idea and I can kind of tell from her fan girling over Pat, especially during Independence Day that this was a really big deal for her.

Neil 1 of most underrated guitarist EVER . Sure a master at inside parts , and perfectly crafted solos... Pat will kick ass for another 100 years!!! She is ALWAYS in voice! Hats off to Martina for digging in deep!

I saw Martina McBride in concert in Sacramento when she was first starting out brand new. She opened for Clint Black. After her set during stage set-ups, she was signing autographs, and I said to her that her voice was phenomenal and she sounded like Pat Benatar. She gave me a big hug and said thank you. Now years later, having them both on the same stage singing together is a wonderful treat. Love them both.

Neil has long been regarded as one of the greatest guitarists in rock, Just because you're not familiar with him doesn't mean he's underrated

Why doesn't CMT go back to the old-school format, such as music videos, concerts, "Crossroads", "Inside Fame", etc., instead of reality shows?! This is my favorite episode; I'm sad they didn't sing "Shadows of the Night", but Pat has so many hits, she can't sing them all!
Agreed!! I'd love to see VH1 bring back Behind the Music and Storytellers, and MTV to bring back Unplugged.

I think we were at the same concert . I also saw her about 13 years ago here in GA at Wild Adventures in Valdosta
She said she has 3.5 octave range...still amazing

One of my all time favorites. Written and sung by one of the best rock and roll songwriters of all time. Song should have gotten far more play in the 70's. He and Cynthia Weil have written so many of the classics in Rock history!!

Martina should have been a rocker. Pat's voice is in an octave so far above hers because she is an operatic trained singer. Both are INCREDIBLE.
