    From California, rhank you so much! I love the beautiful earth there, with the pine trees, the snow, the farms and villages. Life does not look so easy, and I would not want to live where winters are so cold, or maybe in that comparative isolation. But the people seem to be very warm and caring, and to have a real sense of community, so hard to find in the USA, or maybe in any big city, with too much rushing, busyness, and commercial development. By the way, your English is very good.

    • @elenastravels
      @elenastravels  Год назад

      Hi Richard! Yes, I agree with everything you say... Interesting! Somehow I thought that California is the place where people do have strong communities. At least I saw some bloggers from there who keep sharing stories about their "tribes" of like-minded people and so on... By the way, thanks for the compliment 😉

    With winters as long and cold as they have them there, villagers have no choice but to do something during that time. I think that's how the village culture developed there. It would be interesting to see how it works with ethnic Russians in the same area.
    Once I talked with a native women from Ulan Ude in Siberia, and she told me they consider winter the best time of the year. I think you understand why 😉

    Elena, I certainly remember your earlier videos with Ekatrina. You could make more videos with her and I would watch them all. She could describe the spiritualism that she practices, she could explain her language, Udmurt customs, history,...whatever comes to her mind. Dialogs, discussions with you asking about things and Ekatrina giving explanations and descriptions, would be compelling video,

      @@elenastravels I enjoy your travel blogs and observations, I was wondering if you had thought about doing what very few talk about, a bit of fact finding in the new Russian republics amongst people your own age. Do not assume that I think wrong doing is all on Russia, quite the contrary. Western leaning commentators assume things which aren't true, and i can tell you I have never lived through such an intense barrage of propaganda and outright deceit in my life. Guilt is projected onto the enemy with independent bloggers providing real news. Earl grey (blogger from St. Petersburg) and his pals have been taking trips to the Donbas with aid packages, but aren't getting the lowdown on what really happened during the Asov occupation. I think that having met older veterans and honouring them places you well to honour the civilians who struggled to survive months of hardship. It's different and I you would need to assess the situation carefully to minimise risk of personal harm. Let Patrick Lancaster do the front lines, he does interview and gets the bones of stories but his Russian is basic and his presence confusing to the interviewed. Something to consider, and with a massive financial disaster looming in the west it may stand you in good stead with your home audience. This is a revolutionary time, you have a front row seat to view seismic changes to the world order. I am intending to travel to Russia in May for a cultural trip and language learning...so long as I can get there.
