We made this short documentary film to help change how people think about disability. Happy viewing and please share this unique little film with everyone you know! I have been incredibly lucky in my life and with the help of John Schaffer & his crew we are able to bring my story to the public. Thanks Elijah for being a wonderful Son!!!
Do you know about minspeak devices? Company in Pittsburgh, PA - Symantec Compaction, CEO, Bruce Baker. Affordable device, gives a voice. Device was created for people with CP. These folks are also involved with SHOUT. Great film about your family. Thanks for sharing.
I have an Invisible/Hidden Disability. Often treated as "mentally ill", even by people who know better. Cut off from housing by Phila. ADAPT, who are good at publicity, but very deceptive and less efficient than meets appearances. Now dying in improper living arrangement, due to juxtaposition of circumstances. Some people need civil rights and legal/political support, not inspirational talk.
Not accepting disabilities is an old way of thinking. Before we would have thrown a "bad" baby away back in the day because we didnt know better or have the resources to let them live to the fullest. It is really beautiful to see that everyone has a chance to live live to the fullest. My sister was born with CP as well and she can walk and do everything for herself but the part of her brain affected makes it to where she cant talk and mentally she cannot live alone or raise a family but we still love her and anyone that meets her loves her.
This video is great!! I agree that inclusion and normalizing disability are so much more important than simply acceptance. I also see that you, Matthew, have a Tilite wheelchair. Me too!
@@wildasperagus lol Sorry I'm writing a paper and included this video as a citation. I was just a bit bored so I was trying to be funny. Didn.t think anyone read it especially not after a half an hour. Thanks for the video really enjoyed it and the citation. I'm working towards my credential for teaching. Thank you I hope Mathew his family and everyone involved have a great holiday.
@@perfectlypoorgaming7044 It was funny. We just didn't know the context. We were going to make a similarly funny and perhaps obscure joke but decided we didn't want to come off as rude or unappreciative that someone would spend the time to make a comment on our film. We did think throwing in "perennial" was kind of funny.
@@wildasperagus Yes I was trying to be a bit of a cheeky boy, but it seems you lot are far more clever than me. I would love to hear the rude joke now that I have finished my paper.
@@perfectlypoorgaming7044 It's a freaking proper noun so we could spell it with a silent J and it would still be proper. We hope you said nice things about the Director in your paper.

C0ongratulations Matthew
I'm a mom with CP. I'd like to see a full length movie. Be out there more to change perception and open more doors.

😍😍😍
It’s good to care about people when people have a disability we have to be sweet.
You have raised an articulate and intelligent young man.
and I have done 0 with my lifeeeeeeee get it done boys
Everybody has a different culture and sometimes people have disabilities and we are always kind to everyone.
So happy our movie is finding an audience! It's often easier to make a film than it is to get people to watch it.
Brilliant documentary
Appreciated, not tolerated. Nicely stated.
What a great short film. Thank you for sharing it, hope you are all doing well.

Mission accomplished! This lovely film really will make people think about disability in a more accurate way. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your story! God Bless both of you 😇
This is pretty cool.
What a story
Is there a mom of Elijah? If so, kudos to HER, too!!
Natalie Damrauer Elijah’s Mom is an incredible Mom and she really deserves most of the credit for how he turned out!
@@matthewwangeman3688 AWESOME!!! Thank you for letting me know!
♡ much love
Amazing 💝💝💝
Love this! Would like to know if AAC with eye gaze technology was ever a consideration?
I think we all know why Dani is Matthews’s favorite ;-)
❤❤
I know a lot about your dad. Say hey for me.
You spelled Asparagus wrong.
It's a play on Asperger's and not referencing the perennial plant.
