I love the seasons here. When you watch movies you see how people see the seasons, winter is cold and snowy, spring is when flowers bloom, summer is hot, fall with multicolored leaves on the ground
Lake oswego is great and portland is sort of improving. It used to be awesome 10+ years ago but the homeless and drug issues really took a toll on the city. However that’s also happening in every major coast city so I can’t complain too much about it

We love living in lake oswego. I have to say I like Portland as well, especially all great restaurants on the East side. The homeless issues have gotten much better. Some areas are worse than other though.

Our first "winter" in Portland. It's strange having no snow after seventy years living with lots of snow. But it's good to be back in a real city after spending many years in Casper, WY. And Mt. Hood has lots of snow and good kayaking in the summer.

Thank you Cullens for your story. I feel a connection as I moved to the Portland from L.A. a generation ahead of you back in 1974. I also had a young family of 2 children at the time, age 2 and 4. I wanted a more healthy family environment for them at the time. I chose Portland because my sister-in-law lived in Oregon and we had visited several times before our move. I've never regretted that move. It's a wonderful place to live in my estimation. The weather is a draw back for new arrivals. I was ready to move back to L.A. around January of the first winter I lived here. I toughed it out and never had a problem after that first year. I think it was a learning process for me. I learned to accept. rain as clean, wholesome, and life invigorating. It sure beats the smog of L.A. Now, I actually miss the rain during our drier summer months which run from mid May to Mid October. . As I write this, it's December, 2022 and the rain has been with us for about 3 days straight. No problem. You just learn to adopt to it and live life in the great Pacific NW. By the way, the rain here is mostly in the form of drizzle. So I light rain coat keeps you dry for sure..

We bought a new home two years ago. A new house built by Renaissance Homes. We signed a contract without seeing the house in person. We closed five weeks later. We toured the house one hour before closing. We moved from San Gabriel, CA. We both retired.

We are moving back to Oregon from Connecticut. Hillsboro Tansanborne area for the same reasons you did. This is the second time moving back. We came to Oregon just this last weekend to pick up keys a 24 hour trip. The only shocking thing that has changed is the Trimet since we didn’t have our car. Too many homeless and the cars were so dirty.
