Durham is known as "the bull city" and is an underrated town in North Carolina. It's probably best known for Duke University, but there's a lot more to love about this city. DON'T CLICK THIS: bit.ly/3kMzZDs

Durham, NC is part of the Research Triangle Region, known for its technology companies and scholarly institutions, so it's really up and coming. If you find yourself along any part of the Research Triangle, make a quick stop in Durham. Along with amazing attractions like The Museum of Life and Science, The American Tobacco Museum, and the campus of Duke University, the food scene here is celebrated as well. (We'll get to that in the next video).
If you have an afternoon, or even just a few hours, you can see a lot in Durham. We loved the fact that pretty much everything was walking distance or biking distance in downtown Durham.
The Museum of Life + Science has hands-on exhibits, a butterfly house and wildlife habitats for bears wolves, farm animals and lemurs. There's 84 acres of exhibits and wildlife habitats to see. This is a great first stop if you have kids, and even if you don't! www.lifeandsci...
The American Tobacco Campus was established in 1890 and encompasses 14 contributing buildings and three contributing structures built by the American Tobacco Company and its predecessors and successors from 1874 to the 1950s. Inside the campus you can find the headquarters for Burt's Bees, The Durham Bulls Athletic Park, and the Durham Performing Arts Center along with tons of shops and restaurants to explore. americantobacc...
The Duke University campus is pretty big, but two of the most notable sights on the campus (besides the athletic facilities) is the Duke University Chapel and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. The gardens attract more than 600,000 visitors from all over the world annually, and is 55 acres of specialized gardens in the heart of Duke University. Admission is free, and it's open from 8 a.m. to dusk 365 days a year. gardens.duke.edu

Those bike transitions were awesome! Had to go back and re-watch. Also love the whole ~doing 1 thing to push your comfort zone~!
Thanks I watch a lot of jordi koalitic's camera hack videos and see what I can recreate. No matter what happens with our channel I'm glad we started it because it's helped us both not be so introverted and pushed us to get out and see the world. (Well the US, but one day the world)
Great transitioning, really informative, FANTASTIC shots. You guys really killed this, good job!
Hey, thank you so much!
Looks beautiful! I’ve always wanted to see Durham because of the hip-hop group Little Brother. Thanks for sharing your travels!
Love little brother! The Minstrel Show is my favorite album of theirs. Was actually looking for a song with a similar style for this video
Wow North Carolina has so many things to do. We can wait to explore. I’ve the murals and the beaches architectural buildings. You both are adorable. Kenny and I do enjoy your videos. Oh no Sarah I love butterflies 🦋 lol why don’t you like them. I have been to several butterfly Sanctuary and I love them. Beautiful video 😁
Thanks! Butterflies and birds. Can't do either of them. 😂😅
Best vid on Durham I’ve seen. Thank you
thank you! We really appreciate that.
Hey guys, another great episode 👏 I really enjoy that you push each other to try new things outside of your comfort zone ☺️
Those moves at the end 🔥🔥
Haha I still got the moves! We're trying to find where we can kinda niche down a little bit. Pushing comfort zones seems like a great area plus it forces us to try new things.
@@TheDetourDuo nice well we will be excited to see what other new things you two try!
Another great video! Keep it up!
Trying. Slowed down our upload schedule a bit. Hopefully we can pick back up
Wow this is awesome! So glad I found this page.
Thank you for watching! We're hoping to grow even further so we can make more international trips too!
Great job! Highly enjoyable. Keep filming
More to come! Thank you!
I'm a Durham NC baby and bullcity born and raised 🙌
What's your favorite thing about Durham?
Raleigh, Chapel are not called, The Research Triangle! The 3 cites are called 'The Triangle'! Research Triangle Park is an area that grew into its own city-like section between the 3 cities. Durhamite here!
good to know. thanks for clarifying
What side of the best rivalry in basketball are you on duke vs unc ?
NC. Not on the bandwagon. Just like NC more than Duke. I personally am a Maryland fan, and other than Virginia, Duke was the bigger rival between the two. I still remember when Duke score 10 points in the final minute to beat Maryland
It's always going down good in the bull city
Seems like it!
I miss Silver Spring, Maryland Durham is boring as hell. Being able to go to DC or Baltimore within 40 mins each was amazing. Another 1.5 years. Duke basketball tickets are more expensive than Knicks tickets. Although I am originally from NY Maryland felt like home. North Carolina is basically a large Staten Island.
Silver Spring is underrated
@@TheDetourDuo it's basically DC.
I lived there my whole life
What are you thoughts about the area as someone who has lived there so long?
@@TheDetourDuo its really nice if you ask me and if I moved away then my childhood would be ruined
@@TheDetourDuo suggestion: maybe you should explore in Mexico
I visited tobacco place in downtown Durham it was fun. if anyone are anti social personality can't do well in social setting then in my opinion no one isn't interested in anti social life style
It is a pretty cool space
Beat thing to do in Durham is leave armpit of North Carolina fr
That’s fine😁
Great video! Durham seems like a cool place. We've been to NC and I've been to the Raleigh area before but never to Bull City. -Anthony
Thanks! Durham has a lot of cool little pocket areas where you can explore and get good food like the American tobacco campus. Really enjoyed our trip there.
Just accepted a job in Durham. Love it there.
Nice. Congratulations! What area you going to be doing if you don't mind me asking?
@@TheDetourDuo still looking around the area. But it looks like north northwest might be the area
The butterfly scene was both hilarious and inspirational! 😂 🦋 Awesome video guys, transitions and drone shots are 🤯 🔥
Thank you! Sara was legit scared so she was a good sport both sharing her fear and allowing us to laugh at it with her a little bit. Drone shots were from mavic 3. The camera on it is insane!
Great intro with the bicycle! That was a big hill to bike up! Also stellar shots, especially with the drone pans! For viewers doing more than a quick stop over, the American tobacco campus lights up nicely for night events! The performing arts in Durham are great too.
Thanks for the additions. We were there over Thanksgiving so there weren't many events going on. We'll have to spot back to check it out.
Great video! I'll be visiting Durham next month and this was very helpful! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Hope you have a great time there. Are you visiting the university?
0:41 When I loved to NC from Tx this bike trail you're on is one of the things I remember seeing and saying " I gotta try that trail." I wanna move back....
Well now you have to ride the trail at least once!
Please explain the butterfly theory
There are two things that terrify Sara. Birds and butterflies. She says she doesn't like things that fly at face level, and things that have an unpredictable flight pattern
Also, Go Duke!!!!
Since Maryland is no longer in the ACC I can allow such a comment 🤣
North Carolina Central University too
Yup. We talked about it too
We respect you guys getting out of your comfort zones but hard pass on the insects...
You too! They won't bite. Well...depends on the insect
Cool video! Do you guys plan to go to Texas anytime soon?
Thank you! Yes we have San Antonio, Austin, and Galveston as potential spots so far. Certainly would love more recommendations
@@TheDetourDuo Cool! Aside from Dallas and Houston (the obvious big cities aside from the ones you just mentioned) El Paso is a really awesome and underrated place in my opinion.
Oh yeah. We'd definitely do Dallas and Houston too but El Paso. That sounds interesting. We love underrated places!
Hey, excellent video. Please you can tell me. It's possible fly drone in Durham? Thanks for video.
Yep, just make sure you check through an FAA approved app to see where the flights zones are. We use b4ufly
Absolutely love the bike transitions!
Thank you. Didn't turn out quite as I'd hoped but I still like it
Do Greensboro and Winston-Salem too
eventually
@@TheDetourDuo awesome. Are you 2 a couple? Or just friends
Yes, we are a couple. Do we not act like it or something? 😂
Durham is a city. lol
Yup. It sure is. Thanks for commenting
Durham they call us the bull 🐂 city
Seems like you really love it there!
Great job
Thank you
We didn't know Tony had moves like Jager 😂
🤣 I swear I have better moves. Just felt the moment
Remember that there a lot of shootings here
That's true but it's the same with any highly populated city honestly
@@TheDetourDuo true
A sad truth. But, that doesn't mean cities can't still have awesome spots to visit. Just have to be smart about what areas you go to
@@TheDetourDuo Yes, we have to be careful the places we go and be in the right place.
I thought everybody loved butterflies.
Not everybody
