The one that didn't was why everyone thought it was a good idea to invade paradis knowing of Karl's threat. Their fear is what caused the rumbling

And their titan shifters were strong enough to deal with all those pure titans roaming around. After all, they had a literal walking nuke on their side. They didn't just start all of that without preparation. Why do you think they would wait for 2000 years to evade paradie. It was more than enough time for them to master the titan powers to their fullest potential and they were also used to all those mindless pure titans since they were the one who made and send them there in the first place

I think people don't like the fact that he had scenes where he allows his emotions to cloud his judgement when people need him the most. It's not just about being emotional in a scary world, it's about letting your friends down, especially when you've either accepted the role or are the best choice for the given situation to best help your friends. Jean kept having to step in for Armin because he was getting in his own way and fucking it up for everyone. The shit was annoying. I'm not even an armin hater, he's one of the more interesting characters but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was freezing up in a time of dire need. Yes Eren cried a lot in the early seasons but he always tried. He's even had times where he froze up too, and people really dislike those moments by Eren. He usually comes back swinging with a vengeance though at least making up for some of it. Armin never really shows the same conviction as eren, not nearly often enough for some people to outweigh his low points. He allowed himself to get burned to death for the W. Thats a big one but right after that it's counteracted by more insecurity and self pity and wallowing about being saved instead of focusing on making their choice the right one.

The awesome part about Aot, is that while people may personally dislike some characters or their choices, we can all agree that they are all very well written and have fantastic arcs.
Yeah, I really liked how Mikasa progressed from a plank of wood with unbeatable plot armour to a a plank of wood with unbeatable plot armour. Not all characters did well I'm afraid, jest aside, Mikasa is very mediocre.

I can really relate to Armin, since im just so emotional and soft-hearted, I cried when he almost died due to the colossal titan and Mikasa and Eren were crying to save Armin. This feeling is like you're friends trying to save you from something but they cant do anything because somebody is on the way.
She’s hated cause shes the “bad guy” and she killed the “good guy”. There is no good and bad and war. Both sides will always see the other as evil. For Gabi, she was brainwashed into being a soldier, told that the people of Paradis were devils and monsters, and the first time she actually saw them, they killed her friends and destroyed her home. The hatred Gabi felt towards Eren was the same hatred that Eren felt for Berthold and Reiner, and yet she’s seen as a brat because she’s not one of the “good guys”.
I think it's hilarious that aot fans can all agree that we say that the person who was a ruler of eldians and killed countless humans who were mainly marleyans and then continued to force ymir to do terrible things and then continued to make his daughter eat her and cause ymir to make paths was less terrible than a young girl who was scared and confused and shot somebody random that happened to be a side character.

Same!! His reactions are the most realistic of all of the people in the series. He shoot someone and puked because he was disturbed by his own actions, he was being harrassed and cried because he couldn't do anything against it, he saw his whole squad being murdered by titans in gruesome ways and is SHOCKED, terrified and can't move. People are way too used to characters that keep their cool in these kinds of situations or are capable of retaliation instantly (because they are insanely overpowered), Armin is a simple human who reacts accordingly to situations as successful as these. He's been through a lot and still chooses compassion and uses diplomacy as much as is humanly possible to avoid unnecessary conflict.

This list lowkey proof of how dumb the fandom is. Hating armin for literally any reason is insane. Hating gabi but simultaneously rooting for eren is insane. Hating Annie but loving Reiner, or forgiving zeke is insane. The two kings are the only 100 percent hateful characters
You can look at this in two ways: people "hate" the person that these characters represent. Or People hate the "character", their role in the story, their presentation, their plot relevance, etc... Fritz, Eren, Floch, Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt all did horrible things. Some moreso than others. In comparison, what Armin and Gabbi do or did were either justified by reason, or relatively minor bad things (killing Sasha is absolutely nothing compared to what the above characters did, and it was done in a moment of adrenaline and as retaliation for an act of war, against soldiers of the enemy.) However, in terms of hating the character for their role, for their annoying behavior, for how little they are punished or for how easily they are glorified by the writing or forgiven; Gabbi, Annie and Armin become understandable targets. (I don't particularly hate any of these characters myself) Annie is hated for how little she is made to suffer for her actions in season 1 and for how easily the "new levi squad" treat her as one of them, seemingly forgetting the horrible things she did. She also becomes comedic relief towards the end. Gabbi is hated for killing Sasha, a character we've been following since season 1, in quite the unceremonious way. She is also constantly mean, a blind nationalist and xenophobe, barely ever listens to reason, is very impulsive and ultimately does the "no scope" move that screams "plot armour". Regardless of how morally awful these things are or are not, what makes people hate her is how negatively she affects our protagonists, eren specifically, how little she is made to suffer for her actions, and how annoying she is while on screen. And armin...I guess he's a bit of a crybaby? I never considered him that way, he's quite realistic and one of the more sympathetic characters. He also stepped up as a reluctant hero and leader when he was needed. I'd say he is in fact a gigachad at the end, but that would get people's knickers in a twist. But one thing that I think acts on people's nerves irrationally is how feminine he looks and sounds, even as a full grown adult, and how quickly he is prone to strong bouts of emotional responses, especially in season 1. He definitely becomes more cold hearted towards the end (which I appreciate, it's growth.)

Bro, the difference between Annie and Reiner is that Reiner had so much regret he wanted to off himself. Annie said if she was given the chance, she'd gladly do it again.
She never said gladly. She called her sins iredimeble but unlike Reiner she still has goal. And she said it because her father was still alive and her only porpuse to living was him. Also this scene in particular was brought up again via Annie's talk with Kiyomi. At the time of getting out of the crystal, Annie feels that her actions aren't justified and she can't come back from them. But she says that just like her, people have people that they prioritize. She implies that other people in her position would do the same for the people they care about. Then, on the boat after learning her father died. She asks Kiyomi, literally: "if you could do it all over again, would you change your actions?" Paraphrasing but it's a direct reference to the scene where she said she'd do it all over again. Kiyomi then says it's too late and brings up respecting others and regrets. Annie looks down and remembers everything she had an lost, and those she betrayed. This implies that, no, Annie wouldn't do it again. Her asking Kiyomi in the first place means that she wasn't as deadset in that belief as people make her out to be. Saying Annie would do it all over again by the end of the manga is like arguing Eren wants Reiner to suffer. Yes, he said that, but you are ignoring what happens later in the manga. I don't understand how so many people missed this. And Annie was not hated character most people loved her but now because of ,,trend" people hating her. .@@MobyDrip

Let's be honest, a lot of Aot fans are hypocrites. They hate a brainwashed child for killing a soldier that attacked her homeland, while simultaneously loving a man for killing 80% of the population including innocents because his enemies did the same. Out of the three warriors, Annie was the most hated when all she wanted to do even before they broke down the walls was to go home to her father. While Reiner was one of the most beloved even though he did what he did for the sake of pride and becoming a hero.

Mikasa is one of the best characters. Morons who don't pay attention think she's just another yandere when she is in fact a deconstruction of that trope (I think Gigguk made that brainless assessment, but I might be mistaken, it's been a while.) Her character growth is subtle and slower, but definitely present. She's just more quiet and less prone to blurting out her feelings. I love how she gets to end Eren and still get a nice, bittersweet moment with him. It's tragically beautiful.

The anime didn't do proper justice to her character like the manga did. She was NEVER EVER a slave to Eren and we see this way back in season one when she decided she would continue to live and keep fighting even if she thought Eren was dead. Her character is very unique unlike other lead girls in shonen mangas
Big monkey is a dope design and a hell of a threat, he's jacked, was the big baddie for two whole seasons and ends up having possibly the most morally justified end-goal in the series. Even if you disagree with the latter, there is no denying that his backstory is great, and that he has good reasons for doing what he believes is right. He also gets a good death.

She was given a direct order to get away but deliberately disobeyed, stole a weapon, and involved herself in a war that wasn't even her prerogative. What's unforgivable about what she did vs. the Scouts is that the latter were under orders and it was an unfortunate part of their job while Gabi ran headfirst into the battle as a civilian for PERSONAL reasons. As if she's the only person who's lost someone she cared about in the series. Everything is all about Gabi, Gabi, Gabi. She's contributed nothing good or relevant in the plot. She has no regard for human life,not even her own, and everything she did, Falco got punished for. What about when she bludgeoned an innocent guard who was concerned about her, or when she tried to go after Kaya for helping her out? Just nasty. Not to mention her victims are GONE while she gets no jail time and gets to live out her natural years. No curiosity about her victims, either. But when she could've been useful for once and take out Floch, she failed, which eventually, indirectly resulted in Hange's death, not to mention she's also indirectly responsible for the deaths of her friends Colt and Galliard from Falco's titan transformation, too. Just no. And she's no female Eren. (I hate Eren, too, by the way). If any character is a good representation of Eldians in Marley, it's Falco. Remove Gabi from the plot and you miss nothing, except maybe Falco getting the Jaw, but then that could've happened another way, too. Disagree all you want but it's just my opinion. (But my opinion is of the majority. Gabi definitely IS the most hated character on this series for good reasons).

I don't hate Gabi for her actions, I hate her for how stupidly OP she is with a heavy-ass sniper rifle despite being a child. Like, seriously, even adult snipers have a possibility to miss their shot when it's a moving target in case they're on something that also moves at a quick speed, but this creature can kill anything in one blow from like 300 kilometres.
I would put Eren as number 1 personally. But Wtf aren't Zeke and Floch on this list? I think Floch and Yelena are probably the only characters I truly disliked. Hating Armin is just crazy. You should be a fool to call one of the bravest character crybaby. Armin was the most realistic character in series. This makes him an amazing character. Thanks to Armin,Eren and Mikasa is still living after the fall of Shiganshina. If he didn't call Hannes,they would die. Also Armin saved Eren,Mikasa,training and survey corps many time. His intelligence is on high level.
Armin is way braver than people give him credit for. Sure he shit his pants on his first titan encounter, but he had balls of steel when it counted. He knew the possibility of burning to a crisp while distracting berthold was high and he did it anyway. And it's literally one of the most painful ways to die. Bro handled it like a champ and is basically the sole reason they pulled a victory there. Literally everyone else fucked up in that battle. Levi chose well to save Armin. And he's remained the most intelligent and morally upstanding character til the end.

I actually loved that Armin was a little bit emotional. I didn't like Eren and Mikasa at the start because they were too though and straight forward . It seemed a little bit unrealistic for me. (And to be honest ,Who wouldnt be at least a little bit scared of Giants Who tries to eat you?) Armin has a great development because even though hes scared and has no Talent in combat , he get things done later on. Its more impressiv than being though from the beginning.

Armin being paralyzed by fear was a great way to show how terrifying titans are when you fight them for the first time and pretty much know nothing about them.

I feel like Rod Reiss and king Fritz are some of the few characters in aot that I can completely hate without much of a doubt. Some characters like Gabi and Annie make sense to hate at first, but once you learn more about them and the surroundings they were raised in, they really are just unfortunate people trying to save the world and their loved ones

I think people don't like the fact that he had scenes where he allows his emotions to cloud his judgement when people need him the most. It's not just about being emotional in a scary world, it's about letting your friends down, especially when you've either accepted the role or are the best choice for the given situation to best help your friends. Jean kept having to step in for Armin because he was getting in his own way and fucking it up for everyone. The shit was annoying. I'm not even an armin hater, he's one of the more interesting characters but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was freezing up in a time of dire need. Yes Eren cried a lot in the early seasons but he always tried. He's even had times where he froze up too, and people really dislike those moments by Eren. He usually comes back swinging with a vengeance though at least making up for some of it. Armin never really shows the same conviction as eren, not nearly often enough for some people to outweigh his low points. He allowed himself to get burned to death for the W. Thats a big one but right after that it's counteracted by more insecurity and self pity and wallowing about being saved instead of focusing on making their choice the right one.

I can really relate to Armin, since im just so emotional and soft-hearted, I cried when he almost died due to the colossal titan and Mikasa and Eren were crying to save Armin. She’s hated cause shes the “bad guy” and she killed the “good guy”. There is no good and bad and war. Both sides will always see the other as evil. For Gabi, she was brainwashed into being a soldier, told that the people of Paradis were devils and monsters, and the first time she actually saw them, they killed her friends and destroyed her home. The hatred Gabi felt towards Eren was the same hatred that Eren felt for Berthold and Reiner, and yet she’s seen as a brat because she’s not one of the “good guys”.

People are way too used to characters that keep their cool in these kinds of situations or are capable of retaliation instantly (because they are insanely overpowered), Armin is a simple human who reacts accordingly to situations as successful as these.
He's been through a lot and still chooses compassion and uses diplomacy as much as is humanly possible to avoid unnecessary conflict.

This list lowkey proof of how dumb the fandom is. Hating armin for literally any reason is insane. Hating gabi but simultaneously rooting for eren is insane. Hating Annie but loving Reiner, or forgiving zeke is insane. The two kings are the only 100 percent hateful characters
You can look at this in two ways:
people "hate" the person that these characters represent.
Or
People hate the "character", their role in the story, their presentation, their plot relevance, etc...
Fritz, Eren, Floch, Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt all did horrible things. Some moreso than others. In comparison, what Armin and Gabbi do or did were either justified by reason, or relatively minor bad things (killing Sasha is absolutely nothing compared to what the above characters did, and it was done in a moment of adrenaline and as retaliation for an act of war, against soldiers of the enemy.)
However, in terms of hating the character for their role, for their annoying behavior, for how little they are punished or for how easily they are glorified by the writing or forgiven; Gabbi, Annie and Armin become understandable targets. (I don't particularly hate any of these characters myself)
Annie is hated for how little she is made to suffer for her actions in season 1 and for how easily the "new levi squad" treat her as one of them, seemingly forgetting the horrible things she did. She also becomes comedic relief towards the end.
Gabbi is hated for killing Sasha, a character we've been following since season 1, in quite the unceremonious way. She is also constantly mean, a blind nationalist and xenophobe, barely ever listens to reason, is very impulsive and ultimately does the "no scope" move that screams "plot armour". Regardless of how morally awful these things are or are not, what makes people hate her is how negatively she affects our protagonists, eren specifically, how little she is made to suffer for her actions, and how annoying she is while on screen.
And armin...I guess he's a bit of a crybaby? I never considered him that way, he's quite realistic and one of the more sympathetic characters. He also stepped up as a reluctant hero and leader when he was needed. I'd say he is in fact a gigachad at the end, but that would get people's knickers in a twist. But one thing that I think acts on people's nerves irrationally is how feminine he looks and sounds, even as a full grown adult, and how quickly he is prone to strong bouts of emotional responses, especially in season 1. He definitely becomes more cold hearted towards the end (which I appreciate, it's growth.)
There's two sides to the fandom in my eyes. The people who care about the story, themes and characters, and the people who only care about the fight scenes.
Bro, the difference between Annie and Reiner is that Reiner had so much regret he wanted to off himself. Annie said if she was given the chance, she'd gladly do it again.
She never said gladly. She called her sins iredimeble but unlike Reiner she still has goal. And she said it because her father was still alive and her only porpuse to living was him. Also this scene in particular was brought up again via Annie's talk with Kiyomi.
At the time of getting out of the crystal, Annie feels that her actions aren't justified and she can't come back from them. But she says that just like her, people have people that they prioritize. She implies that other people in her position would do the same for the people they care about.
Then, on the boat after learning her father died. She asks Kiyomi, literally: "if you could do it all over again, would you change your actions?" Paraphrasing but it's a direct reference to the scene where she said she'd do it all over again. Kiyomi then says it's too late and brings up respecting others and regrets. Annie looks down and remembers everything she had an lost, and those she betrayed. This implies that, no, Annie wouldn't do it again. Her asking Kiyomi in the first place means that she wasn't as deadset in that belief as people make her out to be.
Saying Annie would do it all over again by the end of the manga is like arguing Eren wants Reiner to suffer. Yes, he said that, but you are ignoring what happens later in the manga. I don't understand how so many people missed this. And Annie was not hated character most people loved her but now because of ,,trend" people hating her.

Her character growth is subtle and slower, but definitely present. She's just more quiet and less prone to blurting out her feelings.
I love how she gets to end Eren and still get a nice, bittersweet moment with him. It's tragically beautiful.

The anime didn't do proper justice to her character like the manga did. Her character is very unique unlike other lead girls in shonen mangas

Big monkey is a dope design and a hell of a threat, he's jacked, was the big baddie for two whole seasons and ends up having possibly the most morally justified end-goal in the series. Even if you disagree with the latter, there is no denying that his backstory is great, and that he has good reasons for doing what he believes is right. He also gets a good death.

She was given a direct order to get away but deliberately disobeyed, stole a weapon, and involved herself in a war that wasn't even her prerogative. What's unforgivable about what she did vs. the Scouts is that the latter were under orders and it was an unfortunate part of their job while Gabi ran headfirst into the battle as a civilian for PERSONAL reasons. As if she's the only person who's lost someone she cared about in the series. Everything is all about Gabi, Gabi, Gabi. She's contributed nothing good or relevant in the plot. She has no regard for human life,not even her own, and everything she did, Falco got punished for. What about when she bludgeoned an innocent guard who was concerned about her, or when she tried to go after Kaya for helping her out? Just nasty. Not to mention her victims are GONE while she gets no jail time and gets to live out her natural years. No curiosity about her victims, either. But when she could've been useful for once and take out Floch, she failed, which eventually, indirectly resulted in Hange's death, not to mention she's also indirectly responsible for the deaths of her friends Colt and Galliard from Falco's titan transformation, too. Just no. And she's no female Eren. (I hate Eren, too, by the way). If any character is a good representation of Eldians in Marley, it's Falco. Remove Gabi from the plot and you miss nothing, except maybe Falco getting the Jaw, but then that could've happened another way, too.

Hating Armin is just crazy. You should be a fool to call one of the bravest character crybaby. Armin was the most realistic character in series. This makes him an amazing character. Thanks to Armin,Eren and Mikasa is still living after the fall of Shiganshina. If he didn't call Hannes,they would die. Also Armin saved Eren,Mikasa,training and survey corps many time. His intelligence is on high level.
Armin is way braver than people give him credit for. Sure he shit his pants on his first titan encounter, but he had balls of steel when it counted. He knew the possibility of burning to a crisp while distracting berthold was high and he did it anyway. And it's literally one of the most painful ways to die. Bro handled it like a champ and is basically the sole reason they pulled a victory there. Literally everyone else fucked up in that battle. Levi chose well to save Armin.
And he's remained the most intelligent and morally upstanding character til the end.

I actually loved that Armin was a little bit emotional. I didn't like Eren and Mikasa at the start because they were too though and straight forward . It seemed a little bit unrealistic for me. (And to be honest ,Who wouldnt be at least a little bit scared of Giants Who tries to eat you?) Armin has a great development because even though hes scared and has no Talent in combat , he get things done later on. Its more impressiv than being though from the beginning.
Same. I like Armin as a character and think his development is good. Mikasa? I feel sorry for her for liking Eren. She can do 1,000×'s better than a psycho like him. I thought Eren was annoying from S1, now I despise him since S4, even though I liked watching his development into a villain. Still hate Eren, though.

Do you know how happy I was and cheered at my TV when Levi kicked his tooth out in S1 or Historia told him to shut the fuck up in the crystal room S3?😂 As fucked up as it sounds, I preferred the cold quiet emo Eren from S4 cause that's how annoying I used to think he was.

People don't hate Gabi because she's a girl?? People hate her because she's on the opposing side of the main group we've been watching for 3 seasons long. And she killed someone we've known since like... the 4th episode of the show, Sasha. She's also extremely hateful towards all of the main characters because she's essentially been brainwashed by Marley, so I'm sure that doesn't help people like her either, even if she does come to change later on.

I feel like Rod Reiss and king Fritz are some of the few characters in aot that I can completely hate without much of a doubt. Some characters like Gabi and Annie make sense to hate at first, but once you learn more about them and the surroundings they were raised in, they really are just unfortunate people trying to save the world and their loved ones
