@@jamiemcateer1086 My partner and I moved from Toronto-ish to Vancouver Island for the summer and fall of 2020 (scary pandemic times) and it was a life changing experience. I quit my miserable job and started working on a new music project in a little basement apartment- one of those early songs "Moss" made an alexrainbird playlist for the first time in early 2021! This one has my wife and I's song Flow (1:31:40) and we're grateful to be here! I truly believe being surrounded by such beautiful nature and getting outside of my comfort zone was a catalyst for creativity + major personal growth and I hope the same for you my friend! If you're heading through Nanaimo, we loved restaurants Asteras and La Stella- both pricey but a real treat. Piper's Lagoon was our little nature utopia. Another hidden gem is a smaller town called Cumberland just a bit north from there. If you head to Tofino, Pluvio in Ucluelet is an unforgettable boutique hotel + restaurant. Hope this helps.
