@@Mario-RUclipsOnly 100%, the purchase price is totally a reflection of that condo fee. The buyer of this home is someone who wants to basically pay the same monthly expense as rent, but own instead. @@Amateurguru-mg1nl seems like the average is about 500$/month. You could maintain your own single detached home much cheaper than that after your initial Cost for repairs after you but it. You are absolutely correct.
@@kraken21990 Not really. Condo fees in Edmonton typically cover everything except hydro. And taxes are cheaper than a house. With a house you have to factor in water, heat, hydro, home insurance, and garbage disposal expenses. And higher taxes. Still think it will be much cheaper? I'm currently looking into one of these cheap condos that have a lower condo fee.

I see a lot of units like this not only in the downtown areas but also some near whyte avenue. I still don't know what the catch or the potential drawbacks in the future are because this seems too good to be true.
Here’s my take and opinion on the matter. You’re right, filter Edmonton condos for under $100,000 and you have an enormous selection to chose from. And that’s entirely one of the big reasons the Edmonton condo market is so soft, there is a glut of inventory. Purchasing in this price range is typically older buildings, so condos fees have risen a lot over the years in order to cover all of the repairs and maintenance to the aging buildings. My advice is to choose carefully, select a great area (which is always a good idea) but really do your due diligence on the building, the management and the condo corp/condo docs. Try to find something with a relatively “low” condo fee but don’t let that be a trap, it could be low because there is deferred maintenance (bad management) and a special assessment/major condo rate hike lurking in the shadows. Hope that helps!
I can't believe how cheap condos are in Edmonton! I live in Victoria, BC, and prices are absolutely nutty. I was looking on one site and the second cheapest place was $315k and it was 238 sq ft. I previously lived in Edmonton yrs ago and am now seriously considering a move back so I can actually buy a place because I know that will never happen out here.
We’d love to have you back. 🙂 Edmonton has 134 listings under $100,000 right now. The largest is a 1,743 square foot 3 bed/2.5 bath. Not a great area, but it’s listed at $63,500. 🤯
What about a family living in Calgary and wanting out of the city? Are there ever any acreages outside the city for rent or are they only for sale? Would love to have your take on this, perhaps in a video sometime because we are considering either renting an acreage (if we can find one affordable) or maybe it's better to buy land and build? I notice you can buy some land for cheaper than a house.

Hi
Hi
I want apartment...in this budget
Where is it
The catch is the condo fees are ASTRONOMICAL.
What are the condo fees?
They’re higher but it’s because they include everything, even utilities. They are $785.88/month.
800
Yikes, any condo fees between 350 and 500? That over $700 outrageous. You might as well rent at that price.
Even with utilities that is still quite high.
I almost bought one of the units in that building but I got turned off bcz of the strata fees 😅😂 but I did ended up buying one in Laskin court, Balwin.
They are pretty high, especially in the South tower. Congrats on your purchase!
it is available ? Total Cost of $66,000 or other charges & Maintenance charges of the property
pretty much all the cheap apartments will have around 700-1000 in monthly condo fees
Hey , what exactly are you choices available for international students.
There’s a lot for both owning and renting. Although, owning is more difficult now for non-residents because of Canada’s 2 year ban on foreign buyers.

@@AllThingsRealEstate, thats close to 130k buying power worth, thats why is adjusted down on price

They are $785/month but include all utilities so really it’s no different than the $400-$500 units that don’t include utilities in their condo fee.

It is still available? We are looking for 2 bedroom. Is the property tax included in the maintenance?

Can I get 3+1 apartment and how much
