The instruments tab just doesn't exist any more for me. I know it used to be there and now its not. Do you know how I can get it back?

Hi there. When you're in Musecsore try going to 'View' at the top of your computer ie not in Musescore but where it says 'Musescore/File/Edit/View etc. You may have accidently 'hid' it. Go to 'View' and select 'Instruments'. Hopefully that will bring it back 🤞

Thanks. How do I change from one instrument to another?

Hopefully you've found out how to do this now? I'm away from Musescore just now so I'm hoping you've found the answer 🤞

Is it possible to take out the rests of other instrument blank staves, so I can print out the score and put them in by hand?

Hi there, I am away from my Musescore at the moment but there should be a way of 'hiding' things. That will make it invisible and so in theory you should then be able to add it by hand. Maybe someone else knows for sure? Good luck!

MuseScore beginner here, using v3.6.2 on an ancient Mac. :) There are several ways to do this - here’s one:
In MuseScore, just about any element can be clicked and highlighted, and hitting V will make that element invisible. It’s shown as light blue on the screen, but exports to PDF, etc, as invisible. (Toggles invisible/visible with repeated pressings of V.)
This works for rests, and theoretically you could click on every rest ...
If you control-click any element, including rests, a dialogue box appears. (Right-click on a PC?) One of the options shows up as Rest > Select > All Similar Elements in Same Stave. All the rests in that stave are now highlighted, and can be made invisible with one V keystroke.
In Rest > Select > More, there are several other options. One enables you to select rests (say) of the same duration. That way, you could leave any short rests as they are, and just hide the semibreve rests.
(Similar options are available if you’d chosen a note, or a particular type of text, or a rehearsal letter, etc, instead of a rest.)
I’d taken a screenshot, then remembered I was on YT, not FB ~ lol.

@HilaryBurtMusic - thx for the video. Nice and clear! Lots of other goodies - subbed.

Have you tried the Musescore forums? Seems weird you can’t see your instruments? musescore.org/en/search/content?keys=Instruments
