Most DDR players go for the technicality, Freestylers are in it for the showmanship. In other words, Even 7 years after uploading this, these guys are still pretty dope.
15 years. Still awesome. They are legends. Wished there were freestyle DDR/Stepmania streamers but no, they just want to use those 🍗 🍗 😅 They're still amazing for the accuracy, nonetheless.
This reminds me of many great times playing DDR at local arcades. Back in the mid to late 2000's, it was so popular that there was always a line for it and tons of people would stand around to watch the best local players. Now every arcade in my city has been closed for several years and there isn't a DDR machine within 200 miles. Sigh...
japanese DDR players/dancers/freestylers are always so damn good.. they freestyle/dance good,. & so much fun also to watch..! ..always reminds me *WHY* i love DDR.. . :')
This is such a solid routine, sure they could have made their dance look better, but they're probably the coolest looking DDR players I've ever seen lol.

Damn u guys were awesome, this is one of my fav song from the ddr collection. It's been a long time since i don't play it, i was about to buy ddr for wii and i checked the play list and it was all american crapy music. The reason i loved ddr was all those frckng amazing techno beat songs (eurodance) whatever u wanna call it. Hope u know what I'm saying. Latest ddr are not the same for me :(
That's the problem with localization. Especially for Rythm Games. I, for example, like the gameplay of Taiko No Tatsujin and DDR a lot, but I only really like about 15 songs of it. I'm not really into J-Pop. And that would be even worse with a Western audience as soon as they aren't hardcore weebs. And you can't really be successful with a fking small playerbase which is known for pirating most of it's content. However I played DDR X2 (AC) about 1.5 years ago and it featured a lot of titles, as well as the titles from the ealier games, afaik. And I'm pretty sure they didn't change the song list too much (it still had "Only my Railgun" on it and tons of other things I personally hadn't expected for an American release, although the machine itself was in Italy, I think it was the NA version)
This is more impressive than someone beating a song on Heavy. They can put in additional movies on top of learning the song backward. These guys are true DDR enthusiasts
I think DDR should be played this way. The Maniac modes makes people look like they are just scrambling their feet while they hang on to the bar for dear life. (They call that dancing?) The game needs some choreography.
@megadan429 What I meant was that the player would have to start out by pressing all 4 arrows, then releasing and pressing other arrows at different times. Sorry for the misunderstading.
HOLY CRAP, THOSE GUYS ARE GOOD AT DANCING!! Even though the vid is blurring, the guy in the white, looks like the actor who played Eiji Kikumaru in Dream live 3rd for the Prince of tennis- LOLZ XD XD WOOT!!
@visuzevo, I agree. People may say that I'm a good dancer, but my dancing is far too random to be effectively choreographed into a dance like this. That being said, I've tried DDR before, and my skill at the game was absolutely abysmal.
duz anyone know which ddr this song is from?? thx nd u guys rock!!!!u shood do a step by step video you wood get hundreds of responses!!! luv ya peace out

This is such a solid routine, sure they could have made their dance look better, but they're probably the coolest looking DDR players I've ever seen lol.

I just looked it up, it seems the machine had a EU release as well. That might explain it.
東京ドーム全国大会とかあったのが懐かしいな・・・。
A new level

2 more years and 20 years. Look at how time flies. You know the whole video is great to watch when the whole video is the most repeated part.

couldn't help but smile. then, couldn't help laugh. awesomeness!
@zaelie:
It's called Challenge (or Oni). Some songs require you to press all 4 arrows at the same time, in different combinations.
Thats the time when i was 12 jeez so many memories
The nostalgia is strong with this one😓
Damn 10 years ago
7*

This is cool.
no. more than 15 years ago
Thats what it used to be, now its all about holding on to the bar for dear life and moving your feet as fast as possible, I miss the good old days.
I think DDR should be played this way. The Maniac modes makes people look like they are just scrambling their feet while they hang on to the bar for dear life. (They call that dancing?) The game needs some choreography.

Benia Abramek me too 🦋
This was shortly before DDR blew up in the west in 2000 when 4th Mix (or I think 3rd) was the first to be imported.

All the freestylers went to dancerush
