Nice to see this,I was one of the writers, got three line too - an I didn't get shot...
best Dave T
well done Dave this would have been a much better ending for the show itself
This is the only continuation of the series post Gauda Prime that is worthy IMO.
Paul has such a beautiful voice.
Great to see these available , I'm a bit late getting here ...
Me too.
Thank you very much for uploading these!
This is so good, Big Finish should buy it and sell it.
It's great to hear this. Thanks.
thanks for posting the audio, funnily enough this is the first time I have ever heard it..
I still have my copies of the audio cassette :-) Great stuff.
I really love hearing Paul Darrow in action. To all the bitches who didn't like "Afterlife", I just read it and loved it, so I reckon all the critics should get a life. I like the plot of "Afterlife" much more than this plot, but like I say, anything Blakes 7 with Paul Darrow in it is gold. Back to the bitches for a moment, you do realise that Terry Nation said the logical outcome of a rebellion such as Blake's would be failure, don't you?
Dead On Arrival reasons why people hate after life is it is 1 book writing by Kerr Avon himself that very much finishes Blakes' 7 as a whole! Villa survives somehow and we remember he was shot in the side by a Federation shock trooper with extreme prejudice. Servelan is finally taken out for good. And it also leaves another cliff hanger. Fans wanted and would accept a actual ending by the BBC! There where talks between Darrow and Vere Lorrimer to produce a 6 part special which would account Avon's final days as a free man until his final fate. It would be a better end of one chapter then the shoot out and cliffhanger in Blake.
Sadly Michael Grade don't believe in spending money on science fiction.
excellent adult drama, a pity a few more of the episodes weren't like this..
@sagittaep No, I think this and the Mark Of Kane were only available on limited edition unofficial cassettes. There's more info about them on the wikipedia article about Blake's 7
thanks good to hear this finally
It was a download from a torrent, and was an mp3, bit rate was 128kbps. The following is an extract from a text file that came with the download:
This torrent is a rework of another torrent that is floating around on several sites ...
I have no idea about the original source(s)
Some were far too loud and one was album-wrapped (why do people do that?)
Anyway they are now all in redbook mp3 format:-
44Khz, 128Kbps, Stereo, CBR and no clever flags set.
Normalised to 80%
was this broadcast? Thanks for posting this!
Hi Astrid, I was wondering - what quality was the source you used, please? I've been making a slideshow and am seeking the highest bitrate available. (I really wish they'd re-release the originals)
Avons voice is handsome and I'm a male, i feel gay but its not about actually being gay its admiration...Paul Darrow projecting his character ,suits up the voice charmingly..
I'm gay too and always thought he was the sexiest character..
They reused an improved version the same theme tune in Kaldor City - www.kaldorcity.com/
