“I hear your heartbeat in my soul” moves me. It’s my favorite part of the song and the way it is sung gets me emotional. It perfectly encapsulates having a bond with someone. Thank you for your beautiful voice.
It is Tav's theme. Originally dark urge was meant to be Tav, before being split into two entities. Just because theres a line " your blood like wine" , everything else makes more sense for Durge.
They may claim it’s Tav but it will literally stop what ever tune is playing in favour of this song the second you go on the rock behind Astarion’s tent. It’s a bit like people trying to say this emoji 💩 is chocolate ice cream. They can call it that all they want but we all know what it is 😂
I started hearing the singing for the first time that I never heard before and I thought one of my mods added singing to the music 😂 it's pretty though
Every time I hear this song in the game I need to stop what I'm doing and listen to it, I stop everything and listen, it's so beautiful. thank you for this beautiful song! Greetings from Chile
I jumped onto that rock while my dearest bard and I were doing multiplayer. The sheer urgency I had to get him to come up and hear it too... I think that was one of my favorite moments so far..
I discovered this music by pure chance during my adventure in the Sword Coast. I was walking around my camp, just before arriving at Baldur's Gate. I wanted to see this coastal town And then this music started. I was speechless. I just put down my controller, and listened to this music until the end. This moment remained engraved in my memory and in time. Playing a game doing nothing, just listening to the music, and enjoying this landscape that is offered to us, this adventure is just incredible. Thanks are not enough to give us this magical moment. You are the best
Thank you so much... This comment is very special and heart touching 🌹💜 Knowing that somehow we made you feel something special and dive deeply means a lot!
It’s not either of them, it’s actually Karlach’s. “I want to live” is the whole point of her story and she says it many times throughout the game. This plays at her ending also
All of the companions have something hanging over them outside the tadpole that makes them feel like their future is bleak, and yet also want to do more. It is the thing that thematically links the entire cast, and relationships with an acute awareness of one's own mortality and a desire to live despite the fact you seem doomed it is pretty clearly a major theme of the entire game across the cast Wyll has his pact, and his desire to make a good difference in the world. He thinks its a good thing to some degree but has clearly mixed feelings about it and despite keeping his spirits high its very likely to get worse over time. Gale has the magic bomb, and a desire to do right by his god once more, or to find closure at least. His entire arc is literally about seeking a way to keep living and undo what he has done. Asterion's primary motivation is survival and living once more rather than being stuck as an undead vampire spawn, and his questline involves a choice between guaranteed survival or actual, true living. Shadowheart has this overbearing presence of her own god, and a need to find a true place for herself. Her paradoxical faith in a god of hopelessness despite being a clearly hopeful person also ties into this. Karlach has the engine, and is the character who enjoys life on the material plane for its own sake the most, and her ending involves deciding how much she wants to live vs wants to not be in hell. Lae'sel truly fears fading away into irrelevance, from a society that essentially has no future. She has the weakest link to this element but her arc has her evolve past a stagnant, dying mindset to find that she wants things in life outside her screwed up society. Finally, Durge has their relationship to Bhaal, which threatens their very sense of self and breaking free almost certainly involves death. A durge who wants to be good especially is clearly constantly grappling with the thought that they maybe don't deserve to live, but they WANT to live. While I think Tav existing is smart, Durge definitely feels like the 'canon' protagonist due to sharing this thematic link to 'being terminal' the rest of the cast has.
I don't think it's "Tav" the character's theme, but it's "for" the player. So like, it's for the person playing the game to enjoy and relate it to what they wish. At least that's how I interpreted what Borislav said. Tav doesn't have an established personality or story, and the lyrics get pretty specific. I think Borislav came out and said it was for the player because people were arguing about what companion the song was about, and kept asking him if it was about their favorite. The line "Your blood like wine, I wanted in" can only be about Astarion, and the lyrics were said to be about his story during early access, by Neil. But the instrumental version is played throughout the game often and I understand why people relate it to Karlach. Since all of the companions didn't get a song with lyrics about them, I think this one is fitting to share, since they all "want to live" freely even though they're running out of time and are held back by one narrative reason or another.
I am in tears after hearing this theme in the camp before get in act 3. I have like 700+ in the game, and I heard a lot of times this theme in camp, but never heard this beautyfull version with vocals untill now. One of the best moments of my life.
I feel hesitant to beat baldurs gate 3 because I want to do more. It is similar to watching lord of the rings. You just want more. But we can just play it again just like watching lord of the rings again.
I am the only one that ca' also hear karlach story in this music, she don't wa't to die she just want someone to hold her, she cant go yet she wants to live
I feel your breath upon my neck A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death) I didn't know you well back then I blame it all on luck and vain (luck and vain) Your blood like wine, I wanted in Oh darling, get me drunk and make me feel It's not my fault I'm not to blame These ain't my sins I broke my chains There's more to do And I still want to live (live) I feel your breath upon my neck A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death) I feel your heartbeat in my soul Our futures bound, our bodies know (bodies know) Your blood like wine, I wanted in Oh darling get me drunk, invite me in It's not my fault I'm not to blame Thesе ain't my sins I broke my chains There's morе to do If I can only live (live) I can't go yet Don't let me die I'll never stop Until I'm done But just tonight Maybe I'll rest in peace I feel your breath upon my neck A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death) I hear your heartbeat in my soul Our endings bound, our bodies know I can't go yet Don't let me die I want to live My only one There's more to do, if we can only live The clock won't stop and this is what we get

Two serial murderer with sociopathic mind, yeah of course it’s so cool!

One of my fav parts about this song is how it opens the same way as the classical piece 'Danse Macabre'
So many great songs but this ones my favorite! Love your voice
🕊️💕
This is Tav's song, and many people keep saying it fits Astarion best, but honestly different parts fit each companion imo
I would've thought karlach
Honestly to me it's just the whole party theme "our ending's bound..." Kinda gives me the feel.
I was doing a bad guy run until I finished astarion's quest and couldn't let him repeat the cycle...now I'm good for him
Heh, he fixed *you*. 🙂
“I feel your bread upon my neck.”
Supposed to be Tavs theme, but this is 100% Astarion's

@@iLona.ivanova наистина е прекрасна тази песен и разбира се Down by the River. Усеща се че е от сърце!
Does anyone else recognize this melody? Like it's a sample of another song or at least really similar?
Search for O' Death, Until Dawn version if possible, not the same mellody but full of similarities
Neil Newbon said it himself this was Astarion's theme song
I wonder how many people missed the lyrics by not overlooking the city on that ledge.
❤
I am the only one that ca' also hear karlach story in this music, she don't wa't to die she just want someone to hold her, she cant go yet she wants to live
I feel your breath upon my neck
A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death)
I didn't know you well back then
I blame it all on luck and vain (luck and vain)
Your blood like wine, I wanted in
Oh darling, get me drunk and make me feel
It's not my fault
I'm not to blame
These ain't my sins
I broke my chains
There's more to do
And I still want to live (live)
I feel your breath upon my neck
A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death)
I feel your heartbeat in my soul
Our futures bound, our bodies know (bodies know)
Your blood like wine, I wanted in
Oh darling get me drunk, invite me in
It's not my fault
I'm not to blame
Thesе ain't my sins
I broke my chains
There's morе to do
If I can only live (live)
I can't go yet
Don't let me die
I'll never stop
Until I'm done
But just tonight
Maybe I'll rest in peace
I feel your breath upon my neck
A soft caress as cold as death (cold as death)
I hear your heartbeat in my soul
Our endings bound, our bodies know
I can't go yet
Don't let me die
I want to live
My only one
There's more to do, if we can only live
