- The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals Presented by RUclips TV to win the 2024 NBA Finals, 4-1.
Jaylen Brown was voted as series MVP and awarded The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award. He averaged 20.8 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 5.0 APG across the series.
With the series win, the Celtics now have 18 NBA Championships, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Lakers and giving them the most in NBA history.

If they keep playing like they played this series and elevating their game to adjust to their opponents they will definitely won the Trophy championship this year. And it definitely starts with winning the second round of this series Amazing and good job by the whole Celtics on the defense end and the offense end of the floor.This is what the Celtics is supposed to do if they want to keep advancing to the third and fourth when the NBA championship which they won this year including beating who is awaiting them in the later rounds. This was a great night for the following players and the whole team. Jayson Tatum who scored 31 points and 9 rebounds and 11 assists Derrick White with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Jaylen Brown 21 points with eight rebounds. Derrick White with 14 points. Holiday with 15 points and 11 rebounds . Al Holford with nine points in and nine assists They deserved the win on both ends of the floor tonight .

I am a Korean fan of the Celtics for decades since the Larry Bird era. Above all, this is not a team that was gathered by trophy collectors for money (I hate these types of teams), and the general manager has grown the franchise step by step and filled in the necessary parts through trades to create a solid team. I am truly happy that we won as a team. Congratulations Celtics!

Bill Walton, Bill Russell and the other Celtics players in the past who have passed away are all smiling at this from heaven. After the 2008 championship it took them 16 years to win again like how it took my lakers 10 years to win again after the 2010 championship. Coincidence both the Lakers and the Celtics both won their latest championships after the deaths of their former players and dedicated to them, we lost Kobe Bryant the year we won in and the Celtics lost Bill Walton this year. Depends on the owner, IMO. Wyc Grousebeck seems pretty chill as owners go. Also important to remember that they're the ones footing the bill for the franchise, including these multi-million dollar salary caps for team rosters.

Lisa: Steve, expectations for this team were so high all season long and how were they able to every time rise to the moment?
Steve Ballmer: Lisa, the brilliance of Tyronn Lue is that he would not let expectations get in the way. Tyronn Lue said that there is no expectations. You have to win or die trying. Tyronn set a plan and he kept everybody focused and these guys played great team basketball and team basketball and it is not about expectations, but it is about getting it done. 1st banner!
Lisa: You have been close for the last few years, but decided this off-season to make some major changes. How did you and Trent Redden know that staying the course wasn't going to be good enough?
Steve: Well, we all watched team in the last few years and great, great teams, but not quite there. And Trent was brilliant. He knew that we needed to make changes and we knew that we wanted to make change and Trent got it done. He brought in Empress Barrett. He brought in P.J. Tucker and here we are.
Lisa: Congratulations and we will talk to your Head Coach. Tyronn, what makes this group so special?
Tyronn Lue: First of all, obviously, for us, for me, our faith is the most important thing. And number one, we have the best fans in the world. The best fans. There's nothing better than representing the Clippers and being part of history and taking on the ownership and responsibility and these guys right here. They are the most important people and the players and the families and everything they do and we are nothing without them.
Lisa: And again, the high expectations all season long and how did you tell them that the expectations could be a strength and not anything else?
Tyronn: Well, you have few chances to carry on the ownership and the responsibility of what this banner is and all of the great people and the great players who came here and when you have few chances in life, you have to take the bull by the horn and own it. And our players owned it.
Lisa: Congratulations, Tyronn. And now, the presentation of the 2024 Bill Russell MVP and Curse Breaker MVP awards, again, Commissioner Silver.
Adam: Bill Russell would be so proud that the 2024 Bill Russell Finals MVP is going to Kawhi Leonard. (gives him the Finals MVP.) Now, for the Curse Breaker MVP. Alright. Quite frankly, I don't know too many individuals that can say they've won 9 consecutive NBA Championships in 9 straight NBA Finals appearances. Kawhi Leonard: It was a full team effort and I share it with my brothers and my partner in crime, Empress Barrett who was with me the whole way.
Lisa: You said that what has been different about your game this season is that you liked all of the anxieties and all of the doubts and first of all, you are a superstar and so, nobody knew that you had anxieties or doubts, but how were you able to do that to unlock your game as you put it?
Kawhi: My faith in the most high and my teammates abd the coaching staff and I have been grateful for every opportunity and I have never hung my head and I have... and excuse my language, I am sorry.

I've never been a celtic fan and there's times I'd say I hated the green and white but my goodness tatum and brown with Kp Jrue and whoever else they get for the next few years are going to be a PROBLEM. Al Horford's first playoff series was in 2008 as a rookie vs the Big 3 Celtics. After that, the Atlanta Hawks tried to force a rivalry with the Big 3 Celtics when it was never a rivalry. There was 1 season when the Hawks won the regular season series, but when it came playoff time, the Big 3 Celtics beat the Hawks again. On the day of Kevin Garnett's jersey retirement, KG came to the Celtics locker room to spread some love to the current Celtics. When KG said "what's up" to Al, Al looked like he was still traumatized from all the L's he took from the Big 3 Celtics. A few years later and now Al is a champion on Boston. You can't make this up. This is hilarious.
