The legend , one of my favorites all the time! TSAR is one the most refined woody / barbershop 💈 scents ever ! It makes me think where the hell is the current perfumery going to … the green marble Tsar one is the best !
I have the 3rd formulation and yes I love the bottle. Bought it on a whim, no clue it was going to become a collectors item. Yes! Beautiful green fragrance. I like your description of it as well and Jaguar has nuances of Tsar. I am a fan of the old school and barbershop fragrances. It's a shame, before covid I had access to a fragrance shop (don't know if it survived) that sold old school and overstock colognes--if you're interested it was located in N.Y.C. on 42nd street between 5th and Madison (it's near the N.Y Public library), it was a small shop that a nice lady ran. This place had a lot of hard to find and overstock fragrances for fair prices (for the city). I know I saw Rive Gauche there (which I did not pick up, dammit!). You never know what you have till it's gone. Just a heads up, I picked up 4 bottles of Armani eau pour homme (online) because I think that's getting discontinued (even if it isn't, it's one of my favorites, although it's a lighter scent). Great job! Thanks again!
It’s great when you find a store that has the discontinued rare stuff, one small hole in the wall store at a flee market by me has all the rare discontinued classics but his prices are sky high
I still maintain that the greenness of Tsar is all in the colour of the bottle 😊 If the bottle weren't green, we'd say it's a spicy-woody like YSL Jazz and Cartier Pasha ...but mossier.
I like the Jade looking bottle . I remember it being coniferous , earthy , and natural . It just exudes an aura of success . Another steller review Kelan . You always come correct with that grown man proper shhh . You rock that Wall Street old money shhh . These days grown men wearing that diabetic sweet shhh .
I just saw this right now and I happen to be wearing Tsar. I love it. Btw , if you like tsar and loewe esencia try English leather black. It’s discontinued but no one knows about it so you can get it for like 13$ online. And it’s not cheap smelling. It’s so criminally underrated.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I really only heard any negative reviews from people that don’t like older stuff. I think you’ll dig it. Oh, and you need to try Oscar fir men too. It’s amazing. Not one drop of sweetness in it.
The third formulation I owned but sold it as it doesn't come close to the original in performance I found. I own midnight at Paris also but hands down the best van cleefs and arpels is van cleef arpels pour homme is my favourite and best one from the house. 🙏
Ahh god pour Homme lol I hatedddd that it smelled like a dusty waiting room with dead roses in it that have sat for years. I don’t think there is that much difference between either formulation personally
Hey bro! I’m from Willingboro, been a fan of your channel for a while and I love the focus on the older style fragrances. I wanted to see if you would do a review on Boucheron Pour Homme and Caron Le3 Homme. I’d be interested in your thoughts on those two fragrances.
Hey thanks so much for watching and commenting dude!, I unfortunately do not have either of those fragrance’s at the moment. I have tried the Caron Le’3 Homme though and it was pretty good from what I remember
i have a first formula splash bottle, but i wear emperors elixir by dua because its a pretty spot on clone and its much cheaper than using the vintage lol
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey the dua clone is really strong, the scent isn't different besides that it's an extrait and thus heavier. it's literally like they just concentrated tsar edt, people around you that know tsar right away will call it
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey @SeanHH1986 Would love for you to review the Emperor's Elixir. I love the Dua version. Hard for me to say how "exactly close" it is because I haven't smelled the real stuff since about 1998 after which I criminally lost my bottle. Suffice it to say though that it's close enough to bring back all the feels. Aiming to buy a backup dua bc I'm not willing to drug someone and remove their kidney to trade it for a vintage :-0. Actual Tzars though would not hesitate methinks.
This perfume blew my mind When it was still available i didnt get it now i regret😢 I have a 10 ml left in my bottle and a full bottle of tsar active deodorant witch i think it can be called edt easely because it lasts 5 hours but a bit fresher and lighter than the original edt
Some years back I had a chance to get a ton of Tsar at a discount chemist on the Gold Coast. Still regret to this day that I didn’t. Now just have one small bottle with a little bit left.
Great review, subscribed .Got a bottle of the deodrant not as potent at all . What fragrance do you think is as close to Tsar these days in your opinion?
Thanks so much for watching, some fragrances that are similar are : Eau Fresh by Jacques Bogart. Jaguar for men, Lacoste original and the clone of tsar called the emperors elixir by dua fragrances
Tsar, Jazz, Safari, and Pasha is where it all started for me! Ironically in 2014! Haven’t checked your database yet, but are you familiar with Milano Cento? Gave me those vibes, but quite a bit more powdered to my recollection. Reasonably priced.
Have you tried the tsar clone by Dua Brand, Emperor’s Elixir? It’s a Extrait de Parfum, supposedly you get better performance than the original. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on the original vs this clone, especially on performance. The dupe price is only like 45 bucks with a coupon. Cheapest Tsar bottle is going for 150.00 for. 1.6 oz that I can find right now.
Sorry mate, I disagree with you. When you wear it, you don't smell it, but it lasts much longer. Even the next day when you take a shover. It is 10/10. Nothing ever comes close to it. Where can I get it?
So with Mercari they don’t let you search usernames for whatever reason. However if you search a fragrance I have listed it will come up and you can follow my page and view all the other listings. A scent I think I’m the only one selling on Mercari is “Wall street cologne” so search that and my page will pop up
I've always been curious about Tsar but that note breakdown is a near 1:1 to One Man Show and to me that fragrance was 🤮. Drydown to OMS smelled like an old lady's purse. Bogart Signature was better.
@Scents Of South Jersey I love green fragrances. I'm partial to the green powerhouses of the late 70s. Polo, Bogart Signature, Paco Rabanne PH, and Quorum (1981) stay in my rotation. Also Brut (1968). I also layer Guerlain Vetiver and Pino Silvestre in the summer. Smells very Italian even though Guerlain is French house. Lol. It's a shame I'll probably never get to try Tsar because of the availability and price. Anyway great review as always. 👏🏽😃
@@Somnus88 I agree with @ScentsOfSouthJersey even if they share some notes, one could never smell them side by side and think they came from the same planet. Nothing off-putting or weird about it. There's a regal, stately element to tsar that's unmatched. What Polo Green does for the "wealth" vibe, Tsar does for the "power" vibe. I love all the fragrances you mentioned. As much as I love it I wouldn't spring the kind of dough needed for the vintage, either. I recommend you pick up the Dua version of Tsar- Emperor's Elixir. I went in skeptical but I have to admit it's extremely well executed. Happy trails

Yeah it’s definitely one of the best classic “green classics” polo definitely has it on performance though lol

Better break out the bankbook to get this one. It's like $500 for a bottle of this Tsar. That's insane.
Yeah some sellers are ridiculous same deal with Gucci nobile. Tsar for 150 I’d say is worth it. I found those 50ml ribbed bottles for under 40 each
