I have always used frozen blueberries or frozen fruit and it turns out perfectly. It's actually sometimes even better than the fresh as they stay together better. @@emmaunderbluesky7511
I add a bit of lemon juice to the blueberries then sprinkle with flour before adding to mixture. The lemon juice makes the blueberry flavour pop. Love the recipe it is so simple!

Just made this and popped it in the oven. So far so good other than the minute I put the blueberries (frozen) in the batter the whole thing turned purple! So we shall see what the final product looks like! Should taste good no matter what.
This recipe is amazing! I've got a double batch with lemon and yuzu zest , cranberries and blueberries AND some amazing Ceylon cinnamon in the oven now. I cannot wait for it to come out. We're going to freeze it and slice it so we can pop it in the toaster. ❤❤

I’m conflicted haha I made blueberry bread from your strawberry bread recipe only because my strawberries went bad. I made a blueberry icing with it and it turned out amazing! This recipe the bread looks lighter and maybe more on the sweet side.

I cooked this last night John at 12o clock at night, tried it today enjoyed it ,but sad to say it can’t beat a lemon drizzle cake or the classic Victoria sponge cake both yummy👍🥳🥰
I've been following your channel for quite some time but never tried your recipes. I just love watching how you do your recipes and how simple you explain things, but this time I tried making this bread and I really love it. It's so moist and tender. Next time I do this I'll try to use soured milk ( buttermilk is not readily available in our country). 😊

Please make an Italian rum cake. We used to get them for every special occasion but the bakery where we got them has closed down. Id love to learn how to make them myself. There are others online showing how to do it but no one can do it like you can.
I've made other blueberry bread recipes, and my frozen berries always sink to the bottom, even after coating with the flour mixture. I hope this works better. Also, given that an acid has been added (egg), might a 1/4-1/2 tsp of baking soda be added to increase the rise? Finally, frozen berries are notorious for dying the batter blue. To prevent this, a quick dip to rinse in ice cold water will wash away that nasty staining juice. Then coat with flour mixture, as John does. The quick rinse does NOT cause the berries to sink.

Wouldn’t recommend them frozen. They release the moisture and ruin the cake.
