Love that you went thrifting, Chloe! Back to your origins! Ihope you keep on doing it, especially after pregnancy, when you will be in between sizes. I think it’s the way to go so that you don’t have to get rid of new clothes when they don’t fin anymore.
When you said thrifting I was so happy 😊 I know you may feel overwhelmed and feel like you’re running out of time to get everything organized but it will come together. Take a moment to record your thoughts and feelings if you journal they will be so precious to pass on to your sweet girl once she’s grown. Hey Chloe! I am a Nashville local with a little girl myself. I highly recommend checking out our Once Upon A Childs in the area. The best two locations are in Franklin and Murfreesboro. They both have a great selection of second hand baby clothes! Just beware the lighting in the Franklin location, all colors seem a little duller in store. I have gone home with far too many neon color things by accident. Remember, you will always find baby clothes super cute and you can always get more clothes if you need them, take your time and learn what you need first before buying too much! Good luck! You are going to be a great Mama!
ohh my friend told me about Once Upon A Child! I wanna go there in the next couple of weeks once I finally sort through everything! Hopefully it's sorted by age and is easier to find specific sizes cause Goodwill is more of a scattered search haha! Thanks for the tip on the lighting, that would have been tragic 😂
@@byCHLOEWEN I also recommend checking out kid to kid in brentwood-- we're in west nashville but I take the drive because it's worth it--- it's been my go to for clothes and shoes!
Just an FYI for baby/child thrifting, you should go to once Apon a child. I looked it up and there is one in Franklin, TN. I got my girls Burberry rain boots there when they were little and so many adorable clothes at the one by me. It’s worth a look. 😊

Your feelings of overwhelm with all the things to do is COMPLETELY NORMAL! I’m 36 weeks today with my first little girl and had the exact same feelings you are having right around the same timeframe. I made seperate piles to start. One pile was clothing which I further separated by size, one pile for feeding/bottles, one pile of toys, one pile for hygiene, one pile of linens etc. and then I worked on storing and organizing each pile and it definitely helped with the overall feeling of OMG what do I do with all this stuff!! You’re doing great mama and the time will fly! I’ve got 26 days left 😮🩷🩷🩷

I read somewhere that sometimes when baby clothes have 6 months on it they can actually wear it from 3-6 months. Same with 9 months etc. Don’t wait too long to try to have her wear some of them! I’m finding out the hard way with my 4 month old! 😀

I feel so old when you started talking about the side parts. Yes, us millennials like our side parts but some of us have followed back to the middle part trend. Our parents forced middle parts on us as children so that’s probably why the side part was such a big deal when we were younger. Lol

If you ever want to get a dress and you think it'll be too short, just wear exercise shorts or cropped leggings! I always wear shorts or leggings under my dresses, especially when it's cold but in the summer time having a pair shorts to go under dresses can make or break an outfit, Free People has my favorite and they come in a bunch of different colors
I've worn leggings under longer dresses before but hadn't thought to do it for shorter dresses!
When the baby comes, she'll need reg undershirts due to her belly button rubbing. Once it falls off, then u can wear onsies. Zip-up sleepers will be your best friend, one, and done. U got this. 😊

Haha yes we have 2 more bedrooms upstairs we just wanted the nursery downstairs near our bedroom!
So, something that completely took me by surprise with my first baby, because I'd ALSO never shopped for baby clothes before:
Every brand has different I guess I assumed kids clothes would be regulated some how, but it absolutely is NOT. 6 months in gap, vs 6 months in Gerber vs 6 months carter's are WILDLY DIFFERENT. So literally worth your time to measure the length of one piece outfits with a measuring tape and grouping them by size that way. He missed out on multiple outfits as a baby I loved and was excited about, but I went by the tag size and he'd already physically outgrown it because some brands run really freaking small.
next thing the size of the head hole. Also varies wildly. We had several onsies he never wore because the head hole was too small, snd he was not a huge baby.
The next thing that helped us was figuring out which brands fit his body well and shopping those first. I'm not sure why, but gap and Gerber and garanimals are all short and wide baby cuts. They never ever fit him. He's a long, lean, tall kid. Burts bees, jumping bean and Carter's almost always fit him great. Everything else was a surprise. But once we had a list of brands we knew never worked and brands that always worked, we made way fewer mistakes when shopping.
Footed jammies. If your kid has big feet for their relative size, footed anything ends up being a risk. Long torsos too. He never wore a single piece outfit after 6 months because either his torso was too long or his feet were too big, unless we sized up 3 times. Also a reality I never thought about before wasting money on the learning curve! 😅
The things that have the built in hand mittens are worth their weight in gold.
Expect to change her clothes multiple times a day. It takes practice to get the diapers on just right so things don't leak. And that's just stuff on the lower region. Spit up or reflux can be really intense those first 6 months too while their digestive tracts finishing learning how to work (literally was told by multiple Dr's babies digestive systems are immature at birth and that's why spit up and reflux are so common) we went through 3-5 outfits a day in the first 4 months while we were learning what we were doing. NOT just clothes, burp cloths and bibs and anything fabric. You don't need a ton of clothes in each size because they grow quick, but you do need to expect to do laundry frequently in the beginning 😅😅
Our favorite kid used clothing store in called kidtokid. It's a chain and there's one in Murfreesboro. I don't know if there's one closer to Nashville than that, but it's at least 50% cheaper than the once upon a child location in Murfreesboro.

Mother of an 8 month old. You're not going to need that much clothes the first 6 months. Well,mine preferred to be naked most of the time.
