Bergholter has created a toxic culture of mediocrity with the team. This is the third stupid red card this year .
The players are best friends with the coach rather than respecting the coach and at fear of being bench if they do not deliver. They will never be pushed to be better under this moron.
Moreover tonight, Bergholter deciding pulling the only creative play makers out and park the bus to get a draw was so disheartening.

Your in correct the last red card was November 2023 seven games ago. Sergino Dest lost his mental composure that cost USMNT a lose vs Trinidad and Tabago November 27, 2023. Max, your anger and frustration was justified. I, too, was shocked to hear Panama upset the U.S. I was equally shocked to see Tim Weah's moment of madness that resulted in a red card that would cost his team and country to go to the quarterfinal round.
In all honesty, I can't see the Americans getting past Uruguay, a traditional South American power. The Uruguayans look really strong both in offense and defense against both Panama and Bolivia. It's going to take a Herculean effort for the U.S. to beat them.
Canadians soccer fans like me want to see our boys make history tonight.. A win or draw against Chile would put Canada into the quarterfinals for the first time ever in this tournament where they would face Venezuela who upset Mexico. VAMOS CANADA!!! LET'S GO!!!

I agree in large part this is on Tim Weah but doesn't a good coach prepare players for situations like this? For this to happen twice so close together. Sergino Dest okay, isolated incident. But now, just a few months later?! Every team meeting since the last match should've been bookended by: "guys I can't stress this enough: They are going to attempt everything to get someone sent off. You will be letting the entire team down if you take the bait. DO NOT take the bait!"
I mean maaaaaaaybe that happened or, maybe Gregg was best-friend-manager and mentioned it once as a "hey guys you're all professionals, I trust you.". Or, maybe he didn't mention it at all. Maybe if Weah and Dest didn't feel so secure with their spot it doesn't happen.

BS. You can bunker without putting in extra defenders, especially if you have to play 1 down for 70 minutes. Yes you have to get players behind the ball, but you put players in that can defend and counter attack, which makes taking Balogun off inexplicable. As does taking off Gio for CCV. Gio should have stayed on, or brought in Musah so he could counter. Putting in Pepi when you have Haji and Sargent both better at counter attacking is inexplicable. So defending Berhalter by saying every coach would bunker doesn’t excuse Berhalter looking like he’s never managed a team down a player.

    4) Gregg’s lack of proper reactions to the goal following Weah’s red card was as bad as Weah’s card.

They took the lead with only 10 players. GGG's "play for the tie" tactics and horrible substitutions, and the players lack poor performances (except for Balogun) are just as much to blame. But again, nothing is guarantee, if the coach would have choose to attack having 1 players less all match and lose, all other coach and people would have criticize him A LOT.
The only learning that someone can take from this, is that coaches should teach their players to not commit this dumb mistakes, even when they should already knew! Because these mistakes usually ruins the whole game.

If that happens, there is a chance to win or draw, but Panama plays against Bolivia and that team is playing quite bad lately, so they may have more chances to win in my opinion. Anyway, USA needs to play to win the next match, it has no other way.
There are all type of mistakes that players can make.. some depend on luck or skills, those acts are forgivable..

Assuming we do not advance, the players on clubs in leagues that start in August can focus on their clubs, and the USSF can decide who should coach the Nations League Quarterfinals in November. While be eliminated in the group stage at home is rare (there are exceptions like when South Africa was one of the worst teams in the World Cup they hosted so their elimination was not surprising), we still played or will play Colombia, Brazil, and Uruguay, who are all in the top 14 of the FIFA Rankings. Assuming we do not get a shocking loss in a Nations League aggregate against an opponent who cannot be Mexico, Canada, or Panama, we will have the Nations League Semifinals and Final or Third Place Game in March, followed by the Gold Cup in June. I do not ask for coaches to be fired, but I know that Berhalter was unpopular before this month, and I think a majority of fans will want a coaching change if we get eliminated on Monday.
Having players on top clubs can be fun to watch and talk about, but here is a question I want fans including Max to answer. Which would be better, reaching the Quarterfinals of World Cup 2002 when players were on worse clubs (I did not look up what clubs those players were on, and MLS was worse then), or losing in the Round of 16 at home in 2026 when players were on better clubs?
Uruguay defeated Bolivia 5-0. Bolivia had more possession tonight than we did, but Bolivia got outshot 17 to 2. We could face double-digit shots on goal for the second time in four games.

Hi Max! I would like to extend an invitation to you to come join the Canadian bandwagon as Canada made history last night by becoming only the third CONCACAF side to make it to the quarterfinals as debutants in Copa America. The first was Mexico in 1993, and the second was Honduras in 2001. Canada drew Chile 0-0 which was enough since Argentina beat Peru (2-0) the same night. This is HUGE for Canadian soccer as a whole.
Man, wouldn't it be shocking if both the U.S. and Mexico not qualify for the quarterfinals while Canada remain the lone CONCACAF side whom nobody gave a chance? We shall see what will happen in the next couple of days. If that possibility do become a reality, you're always welcome to join the Canadian bandwagon as our boys hopefully will take us on an unforgettable ride as they make more history. We would love to have you aboard. VAMOS CANADA!!! LET'S GO!!!

Weah had a huge part, no doubt, but why do the players deel that they can act this way. They dont do it in their clubs. The in-game management by GGG was bad. Why start adams when you know he can only give you 45 min? Red cards are part if the gane, you muat be prepared for such possibilities. The fact that it's not 100% certain that GGG won't be fired if grouped is whats wronf withe the federation.

Hi, Max... first time that I happen to run into your channel. I'm a Panamanian football fan and I'm just drinking YouTubber tears after our win today. Your channel has provided plenty and I'm hardly thirsty after watching and listening to your analysis. I want to tell you right off the bat that I strongly disagreed with your decision to whack Tony Montana. I think it was worthy that you both had a sitdown and figured out a way to broaden the drug empire from Bolivia with Tony's assistance. Anyhow, I doubt that the best strategy for the U.S. was to bunker on their own side of the pitch, hoping to at least get a point. The U.S. is simply not used to having to play that way (like the Paraguay 1998 World Cup team, for example). Yeah, Weah chose the wrong time to act like an idiot but Concacaf's "stud" had to find a way to pick him up.

Let be real this team in last five years is not good enough. Yes, these players in Europe and play well with their clubs. Hell we have a Champion league winner on this squad. But when it comes to country, these is mid at best. It’s time to fire the coach and get break this group of players up. This is not good enough. How long do you fans to keep spend their hard earn money and value time watching this mess? If Greg still have a job on Monday night after Uruguay beat the mess out of us, I am done supporting USMNT.

I have no sympathy for the state of the US. In 2030 or 2034, when you get your wish and the core is back in MLS, the US will not qualify again for the World Cup and it'll be back to square 1. I'll be treated like a joke for that but in 6 or 10 years when people like you are still blaming players for results and not the coaching and the system itself, I'll be on here to tell you 4 words: I told you so.
