Based purely on this video I ordered the unit from TravelinLite, and it took ... let's say 3 minutes to remove the old unit, install the new one, and get it working.

I've been eyeing up the TravelinLite RCD 360+ upgrade for my T5.1 but I've been reluctant because I anticipated a nightmare fitting it, problems with incompatible cables etc, but if it's as easy as you say it is, I might just take the plunge. The video is excellent for a clueless idiot like myself!!

the whole experience has been excellent. the only issue i have had has been an occasional loss of connection with the phone. As this has been fixed by unplugging and replugging the USB into the head unit, its most likely the quality of the cable. Or possibly a dirty connection in the head unit socket.
everything else has been great. highly recommended.

Yes it does Rich. Its just a higher resolution version of the graphic used on the original head unit.
Hi found this video really useful. Can you help please. I have a 2011 T5 and I am replacing the radio to a Chinese android. I have an antenna connector with the radio. It has the standard push in male aerial connector into the radio and a single clip the other end. I need a double for my VW connector. The supplied lead also has a blue wire on it. Any idea where the blue wire connects to or if I even need it. The only difference to the lead is it has the standard male plug connector. Not the one you have in the video.

Evening John, I’m doing this same change in my mk5 polo, I have the head unit but for the life of me I cannot find the harness that changes the power from the rcd310 to the rcd360 would possibly know where I could source one?

Thank you for the information it helps a lot, but the travelinlite radio is very expensive and looks better.
Did you upgrade your heating controls also or did they come standard?
Did it have a speaker for the use of a phone?

Unfortunately not. The T5.1 (later T5) has rounded corners on its din aperture and the earlier T5.0 has sharp corners. This link my be of interest to you though.
