    Chad, thank you so much for helping me understand chemistry. I thought I'd never be good at chemistry. I failed 1046 retook it and passed with an A. I passed organic chemistry 1 and 2 with an A thanks to your videos. I love to see professors wanting to help students understand the material. I'm using your DAT prep and love it!

    Hi Chad, for the equation you introduced at 16:50, or the shortcut equation for the ICE box method, would a polyprotic acid or base change this equation? Thank you so much for these videos btw. Passing and enjoying chemistry this semester thanks to the easy understanding of the concepts. 😁

    I am a little confused with your [H+] and [OH-] shortcuts. What if it was a weak acid or base where the molar coefficients were not 1, as in the change column of the table would have 2x, or 3x, etc... That would mean that the top of the Ka could be [2x]^2[x] for example. I am assuming for thus the shortcut doesn't work, since you would have to take the cube route. Was the shortcut simply for 1:1 coefficients? Thank you!

    The 6.8 x 10^-4 vs 1.8 x 1-^-4 threw me off. Can you please explain why 6.8 is bigger?

    • @ChadsPrep
      @ChadsPrep  4 года назад +3

      It's easier to see if you write them without scientific notation. They are both 10^-4 which means they'll both begin with 3 zeroes. So you're really comparing: 0.00068 vs 0.00014
      And 0.00068 is definitely larger just as 68 is larger than 14.
      Hope this helps!

      Hello Ankita! My original plan was to be able to respond to your comment hear with a link to a new video showing how to approximate logs and anti logs (and pH calculations in general) without a calculator. But it's been a busy week, but I hope to get to it right after Christmas!👍
