Where was this activist all this while when costs were increasing and Canada was suffering. Not saying climate change is not important but its time to focus on priorities - aka where it hurts people the most - Affordability!
@@andrewstokman3204 Affordability has multiple facets to it not just climate change alone. It also involves having a strategic plan when it comes to immigration and other aspects. Its obvious for anyone the major share of their paycheck is Rent/Mortgage which is a major part of affordability. All I was highlighting was focus on the major priorities so that they can put a roof over their heads and then focus on climate change. Just to highlight countries like US still have better affordability with lesser climate change action and higher median pay than Canada.
Climate change affects how much you pay for insurance or if you can get it at all if you live in a wildfire, hurricane, tornado or flood zone. Climate change affects our healthcare costs. A prolonged heat wave can put hundreds of people in the hospital. Climate change affects our food costs. Droughts, floods, heat waves, early frosts, insect pests -- all reduce yields for grains, vegetables, and fruits. And ask anyone with a backyard city garden if it still saves them money or has become an expense. Climate change affects infrastructure costs. A washed out highway isn't cheap. Neither is a flooded subway. Climate change is going to increase the number of refugees in the world by millions in the coming years, largely because of rising sea levels and stronger storm surges. It doesn't take much of a sea level rise if a large stretch of coastline is only a few feet above sea level. Higher tides are already polluting Florida's freshwater reservoirs. Now imagine artificial "trees" of solar panels in apartment, work or mall parking lots so that your car is shaded from the hot sun and refueled for free at the same time. Nice? They already do that in Saudi Arabia.
@@maryanneslater9675 I dnt recall standing against Climate Change. All I am saying is the government could have done things earlier like manage immigration better, ensure car thefts were managed by regulations, stopping foreign investors by buying properties, if they don't live here. @@NikhilJames-re6jm We need to focus on both, and we need to create very solid mitigation plans, because it's too late to stop climate change from having devastating consequences. The economic impacts of it will be insane in the next few decades. Politicians failed when it came to affordability. They failed when it came to prevent wealth inequality from soaring. They're somehow all linked, because they're all happening for similar reasons, and they're all hard to prevent for similar reasons as well: endless growth and the race to siphon all the wealth towards those who already have the means to siphon it. (Same for immigration, btw. Foreign students are used as cheap labour for the sake of unscrupulous employers. Make sure they have better protections, and you'll protect everyone else as well.)

They took more flights in the fist year of her life than they had in the previous 20 years. They never really cared about the environment. They just cared about telling people what to do & how to do it.

Plastics and polymers represent a tiny fraction of total petroleum usage. The world burns through some 100-million barrels of oil just in a single day. You could pave a plastic highway across Canada with a few days' worth of that. Without the energy portion of crude, the fossil fuel industry would collapse and be restructured into just a supplier of long chain hydrocarbons for creating polymers used in chemical and industrial uses.
Furthermore, plastics and petroleum-based fibers are dangerous as waste builds up in the environment and also microplastics in the body. We could do with much less of that too.

Where was this activist all this while when costs were increasing and Canada was suffering. Not saying climate change is not important but its time to focus on priorities - aka where it hurts people the most - Affordability!
The reason for the focus on "climate change" is specifically to reduce affordability. That is the purpose of "climate change"
You can't turn a blind eye to this and say Climate change is the reason alone. Again a better understanding of priorities.
They should be thrown in jail for harassment.

No but the money he stole from taxpayers paid for the Gas and oil used by the vehicles that got them there to terrorize Pierre's family...someone should find out where he lives and hold a counter protest in his driveway, seeing that he is the spokesman for the group.
Someone should tell this guy that people with children are some of the biggest polluters & oil users in Canada. I had friends who didn't have kids & they were soooooo environmentally conscious & sanctimonious. Then they had a kid, just one. Now their house is filled with plastic toys, books, clothes, crap, they drive everywhere, eat more food with plastic packaging. They just cared about telling people what to do & how to do it.
