My 10 year old son and I are flying today because of your educational RC videos. We don’t have access to any clubs and we learned everything from flying techniques to building and battery management from watching your videos. We started on Carbon Cub and Habu about 6 months ago and now have 7 total planes. Thanks for everything you do!
You don't need a club and unless you are one of those rare humans that actually craves social engagement you won't miss anything either. It's pretty much ALL on the Internet now. I taught myself to fly on a large slow flying motor glider in the days when we only had magazines and the model shops were pushing me towards joining a club but I wasn't having any of it because I wanted to have the freedom to fly when I wanted and where I wanted. New flyers are blessed with channels like Brian's. Well done for teaching yourself, you have joined the ranks of the few!
I'm a VERY new pilot, I really love watching your videos your camera crew makes you look good! I learn something with every video that you all produce.Thank you for the time and effort that you both put into your videos.
Please pass my thanks on to camera crew always a great job , you two bring great joy to my life when I’m down , helping on more levels than you know , thanks guys 🙏
I have learned SOOOOOOO much from watching your channel for years now and I love your sense of humor and your format of videos. Can’t wait for the next review on a new gorgeous plane. Thanks Brian
I want to thank you for your educational rc videos. Sence getting back into this hobby after 25 years away. You and your videos have taught me so much. Stuff I didn't know. I have your video on when Im doing radio set up. Just so I don't miss something. Your one of the only channels that educate me. So thank you and keep the educational videos coming. Plus your wife does great camera work. ❤️🧑🎓🧑🏫

As you already know, I love it so much, but it's still not quite enough income to kill off the other "full time distraction" - LOL - I do really enjoy my day job, and I'm good at it. I've grown a lot in the 17 years I've invested in my day job, and it's been an invaluable part of my success, and our families hard fought prosperity, but it will hopefully be phased out, God willing, so I can follow my true passion. I often times answer "How are you doing" with the expression "Living the dream" - difference between when I say it and others, is I'm not being sarcastic. My hope is to make "Living the dream" true for not only me, but my family around me, and not JUST me... Megan is feeling overwhelmed, and the kids could probably use a bit more attention in the next few years, so we're working really hard to get to that spot where I can rid my life of the primary distraction, that has been such a lucrative, and positive place in my life, in exchange for this wonderful, terrible, amazing, time consuming, invigorating, fulfilling, most challenging thing we're doing here together. Hope this makes sense...might be a bit wordy, but it's accurate. Thank you for helping us make our dreams come true, and I hope you hear these explanations for what they are, and NOT for what they aren't - being arrogant, or bragging, etc - I try to be super transparent with our most sportive audience members, especially, since you have REALLY helped us to make this dream a reality (at least KEEP making this dream a reality), and I feel a strong obligation to serve you and share what and how when it's possible and appropriate. We appreciate you!
Thanks Brian. Been watching for years. Wouldn’t be where I am in the hobby without your videos. Learned many times more from you than all the other rc channels combined.
Yes very educational indeed. You guys are my number one show and the only one that I watch every flick of. Even my wife and son has grown to love your show.

Honestly a fantastic jet. Lightest 80mm 6s jet and has a huge 2.9kg thrust coming out it's exhaust. Better power to weight ratio than even the viper 90mm and futura. The only gripe I had was the main landing gear doors often stick or don't shut properly. Best value 80mm jet out there that has it all plus the best edf in its class. @@windscreenrepairmanrich5528 yeh id say this will launch no problem from your hand. Was just testing the thrust out my futura v2 against the Hawk with a 4000 lipo and it's +1:1 and pulls up out of my hand to the ceiling. Produced 2.8kg and 2.9kg for the Hawk. Both have the same motor. Hawk weighs 100g less than futura. Remove the retracts and ul probs save another 300g on top of that. So about 1.5kg jet plus a 580g lipo with 2.9kg of thrust. Id recommend an RX with safe or use the reflex gyro for stability during the launch tho as its heavier than the rafale 4s and u could do with that extra assistance keeping the jet straight.
@@M4rkmcc21 do you think the bae hawk is as fast or even faster as the futura or e flite havoc? i cant help myself but in the most videos at least to ME it looks like the bae hawk is slower than futura and havoc. or is it the camera angle or something? watch the video of pilot ryan flying and crashing the havoc. it looks stupid fast in that video. @@martindelrio1891 the vids are very deceiving. Some angles it looks super fast and some they don't. Brian Philips new video of the Futura v3 looks insanely fast but I've flown my v3 and the another v3 before this one and they dont look as fast as his do. Problem with a video of watching it fly past and away or vertical is there's nothing to reference the plane against. Its just getting smaller and smaller. The Havok also looks fast cos it is fast but it won't be as quick as the futura or hawk. Its got a smaller motor and less kv and the fuselage from what I remember wasn't super light. When I measured the top speed of the Hawk and futura v2&v3 they were all in the same region of 128mph. Id say from looking at them, the Hawk would be the least aerodynamic as its front is larger and also it has some fake scoops on the top creating drag. Also the futura doesn't have cheater holes so that makes it a bit more slippery. You really can't go wrong with any of these. (Don't get the Havok). I sent mine back as its quality was bad. Still moving with Apprentice toward non-SAFE flight with two balsa models (Bridi Trainer 40 and Zlin Akrobat) just waiting for the right moment. Megan & Brian, thanks for your dedication to RC flying.
Love your channel Brian, learning a lot. I live next to the airstrip where the Red Arrows practice. Your scale flying was spot on with the long verts and immelmanns. They also do 4 pts and knife-edge, would love to see you do that. The lights are scale, and the real aircraft looks exactly the same when flying towards you.
Before I buy a new plane I always come to your channel to see if you have reviewed it, so I can learn as much as possible about it. Your videos are always very detailed and I have learned so much from you since getting back into the hobby. I wish you would do a review of the fms P-51D 1400mm redtail. There are almost no reviews of this plane. Atleast not within the last 6 or 7 years
Hey Brian, I've been watching your videos for x number of years and I've learned tons from this, that, or the other thing and also I enjoyed it and it wasn't as boring as you claim it was. 😂 (I have learned more from you than any other channel.)
Thanks for the top level education. I actually thought this was part of a free online course or something. Remote control 101 I saw somewhere. And if I didn’t it should be called R/C 101 with Professors Brian Phillips and Professor Megan Phillips.
Thanks Brian another great video tutorial as always, I have the reviewed model, yet to fly it though. So it was very informative, still waiting to see camera crew fly a jet or something.🚴 (UK)
Nice looking plane. I maidened and almost lost a new balsa arf today. I put an ar630 in it. I was flying it trimming it and everything was fine when all of a sudden I lost all control on the sticks, the plane flipped itself upside down and started spiraling to the ground. I flipped safe and it saved it. You think it browned out or I have a glitchy reciever? I wont fly it or anything else again with that reciever. Brand new receiver never flew with it before.
There's a lot of things to test that can cause crazy stuff like that, and you need to get to the bottom of it. Brown outs are extremely uncommon, due to the fact that your Rx uses so little power (and lower voltage) compared to the voltage you've got available from the battery. I highly doubt that's what happened. Your ESC could be bad, or the BEC; you could have a bad servo, you could be dealing with radio interference. If you flipped SAFE on and it "fixed" your flight path, it was 100% NOT a brownout...unless the brownout ended, exactly as you flipped SAFE on. One of the huge advantages of filming most of your flights, like I do, I can go back and see my mistakes that cause strange circumstances, and then just really dig into how to avoid making them again...not saying this is what happened in your situation, but I can say I've been in that boat, then later realized I messed up - but usually after I review the footage. Start troubleshooting. You need to do it - you might have a bat TX - this could be dangerous to you or others around you :(
@@BrianPhillipsRC it did it twice in the same spot in the air. Only in that spot it flew fine everywhere else. I have alot of planes on my nx8 never had an issue like that. It had me thinking interference because it happen in the same spot twice ya know?
Would be VERY cool, but a huge pain to reset, which has been a large reason for my never having tried it. Some guys have done it on larger super-scale jets, and it's super neat!
Mine is still in the box, has been for 6 months.. But want to change the scheme and DJI FPV in the cockpit. Easily the most awesome Hawk out there in this size.
Did you ever set up a video for the V3 Futura? I have a box sitting in my hallway waiting for you to release the build and flight video And also Bae-Hawk 80mm or Futura comparison...
Just like always, if you watch the entire video from these two AND LISTEN, your questions will be answered eventually. My question involved skill level. "How many Cubs do I have to crash before taking on this Beast Hawk?" 3rd, 4th, 5th plane ✈🛫🛬🤣Thanks BPRC!
Okay, add “university” to your RUclips channel name, then incorporate and become an officially registered RC CBO, then file for your entire property to be a FRIA with the FAA. Booom, all your subscribers become students and your perpetually exempt from everything 😂. Also, you really are an educational channel, I can say without a doubt I wouldn’t be where I am today in this hobby without your thorough and exceptional instructional content, both in flying and assembly / programming.
Hey Brian, total noob question for you. When you use a smart battery tester and it says you have x% left on the battery is that to absolute zero or to lowest cell voltage recommend for the battery i.e. if you have 50% left and you've been flying for 5 minutes does that mean you have a theoretical flight time of 10min?
This BAE Hawk is a better plane, hands down, but it's also an 80mm...so kinda not a fair fight ;) bprc.me/FMS_BAE_Hawk vs bprc.me/FMS_Viper ...BUT, Both is always a good answer too ;) They are both good, but comparing a 70mm to an 80mm...the 70mm is gonna have to be HEAVENLY to stay caught up with an 80mm EDF.
@@BrianPhillipsRC hah man I love the response. My sense is that you don’t think the V70 hits that heavenly note to bridge the gap. By big issue with the v70 from your review of it (awesome, thanks - enjoyed the banter with camera crew) is that you can’t get a 6s 5000 in and have to use a 4000 which really is a pain and means batteries are way less transferable ! For the FMS BAE it says 4000, but think 5000 or bigger may be ok ???
I feel more educated with every video I watch! Since you are doing FMS planes now, could you review the Fox 2300? Its been a while since you've gotten a real glider. I'd like to see how you fly an aerobatic glider and I'd like to see how the V2 does.
This is one of the best planes ever made!! I flew one til it fell apart and then got a new one with the new 2100kv fan! Its a rocket ship!! And I have gotten up to 20min flights with mine!! Did you get the half throttle howl yet?
@@harald-ce9jj yes thats what they say but its old info. The new ones now come with the 2100kv 3280 motor. The other new 70mm also have the upgraded 30mm motor fans but specs dont mention it either.
@@martindelrio1891 it has about 95% of the futura speed but its scale. The futura is a sport jet. Having a fast scale plane is a much bigger plus! Almost no bad habits for the Hawk as well!! I own both and love both!
Brian why you took so long to get this review out?! Love the chat you have about it and agree with everything you say. Looking forward to your Futura V3 review. I love both these planes and looking forward to seeing if we share the same thoughts on it. Hope you get your hands on the new Xfly TA-7 80mm coming soon.
"Reflux" - LOVE IT :) (I have to assume that was just a typo, but if not, sounds like something a competitive brand would call it - LOL... it's a Reflex, and sure you already knew that...) Reflex V2 is just a stabilizer and provides for Auto Leveling as well, but you can can it pull right out. It's not hard, and you can definitely put in an AR630, AR631, AR637T and get even better flight performance. Here's the Rx list that might work for you're situation...pick what meets your criteria... AR630 bit.ly/3zpdgVR - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + INTERNAL Antenna AR631 bit.ly/3v0w3Fy - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + EXTERNAL Antenna AR637T bit.ly/3OlgIpB - AS3X & SAFE with FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas These would add support for CRAZY wing types, but they are unnecessary in my opinion... AR8360T bit.ly/3crfA6H - AS3X & SAFE with FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas OR you can just use one of these WITH the REFLEX V2... AR620 bit.ly/3z7WDO0 - Simple 6 Channel Air Rx with limited telemetry - No AS3X & SAFE AR6610T bit.ly/3z37ysk - More telemetry - No AS3X & SAFE AR8020T bit.ly/3vgCnbV - FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas
Hey guys !!! I recently got an aeroscout and crashed it like newbie😂. But now, when I test everything, everything seems to be running well. However when the plane goes straight, it no longer goes straight but steers to the left. How do I fix this problem? Thank You

G8 flight & as always best camerawork among all RC channels. Felt like u r watching airshow in person
That thing got power 💥 !!!😮
100% It does - you must see it in person!!!
That thing looks awesome and seems to have plenty of powa 🔥
Nice flying Brian 🔥👍🏻✌️
Before I buy a new plane I always come to your channel to see if you have reviewed it, so I can learn as much as possible about it. Your videos are always very detailed and I have learned so much from you since getting back into the hobby. I wish you would do a review of the fms P-51D 1400mm redtail. There are almost no reviews of this plane. Atleast not within the last 6 or 7 years
The central tank is for the coloured smoke the Red Arrows use in their air shows.
Hey Brian, I've been watching your videos for x number of years and I've learned tons from this, that, or the other thing and also I enjoyed it and it wasn't as boring as you claim it was. 😂 (I have learned more from you than any other channel.)
Goodness Brian watched you forever… I just feel so educated , I’m becoming so wise !? !😮
I have one of those and it's one of my favorite EDF's..
got this plane.. love your videos ajit chambers - england ( ghost station entrepreneur)
Great flying Brian. You seem to love this Hawk. I wish it had room for larger batteries.
It doesn't need more than a 5000mAh..
Love the channel and I've learned a lot from you while I've been subscribe. You've helped give me confidence to begin in the hobby.
Wow I learned so much very very educational 😂
Glad to see you lost the sun visor bud 🤙. Thanks again for the entertainment!
LOL - I didn't!!!
Very cool video! I’ve been checking this out for a long time! Great job explaining everything!
Love the videos brian.i like the set ups it helps me so much.im getting the T45 goshawk soon .hope to see you get one and build n fly.
A parachute system to slow these jets down would be cool 😎
Would be VERY cool, but a huge pain to reset, which has been a large reason for my never having tried it. Some guys have done it on larger super-scale jets, and it's super neat!
Mine is still in the box, has been for 6 months.. But want to change the scheme and DJI FPV in the cockpit. Easily the most awesome Hawk out there in this size.
I had V1 and I had a bad mishap (all my fault) .... I'm going to order this one using your link. Thanks for the video.
Brian have you ever tried soft dubro tires in a jet? Would you recommend it for less bounce and better ground handling?
awesome jet
don't remember seeing you program your ESC in the build video, do you recommend or not recommend?
I didn't need to program the ESC on this one.
I played the theme song to Maverik watching that flight.
NICE!!! This plane flies sooo dang good! Tons of UPS!!!
Ordered.
Did you ever set up a video for the V3 Futura?
I have a box sitting in my hallway waiting for you to release the build and flight video
And also Bae-Hawk 80mm or Futura comparison...
It is publishing this week. We had to wait for the container to show up. It is AMAZING
Futura V2 bit.ly/3PJqwLc | V3 >>>> bit.ly/3vMZDhS
BAE hawk VS Futura would be a GREAT comparison video. I need to do this.
@@BrianPhillipsRC used your link.. already waiting for assembly
LOL - hummmmmmm...a few ;) LOL!!!!! Cubs are still one of my favorite planes, BTW, and I still find myself crashing them today - LOL LOL LOL ;)
For a 1st edf (after some Habu stick time) would you say the Futura or the Hawk?
Oh year I fly off a short cut grass field.
It's based on USABLE part of the pack. GREAT question!
4.2 VDC - 3.3 VDC or so, if you ask me.
That was a guuuud flight I luuuuuv it
Awesome presentation as usual Brian and Camera crew. What has the edge, this or the viper 90? They both seem incredible! Thanks-Ant
Ist this recommended for beginners since it has a Gyro System?
I would never recommend this plane for a beginner.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I see. So, what first big plane bewegen 700mm-1400mm Would you recommend?
Hey Brian, another smashing review. There's a lot of great jets out there, how would you position this against the Viper 15th anniversary edn 70mm?
This BAE Hawk is a better plane, hands down, but it's also an 80mm...so kinda not a fair fight ;)
bprc.me/FMS_BAE_Hawk
vs
bprc.me/FMS_Viper
...BUT, Both is always a good answer too ;) They are both good, but comparing a 70mm to an 80mm...the 70mm is gonna have to be HEAVENLY to stay caught up with an 80mm EDF.
The ar8020t will this work for a flying wing
I feel more educated with every video I watch! Since you are doing FMS planes now, could you review the Fox 2300? Its been a while since you've gotten a real glider. I'd like to see how you fly an aerobatic glider and I'd like to see how the V2 does.
Good idea!!! We will look into this for you.
Ok I think im gonna get this plane next.
It is very good! I suspect you're gonna like it a LOT!
Bae hawk vs viper?
does better off road than some off roaders😅
Pretty sure the tank on the bottom is for aerobatic smoke
This is one of the best planes ever made!! I flew one til it fell apart and then got a new one with the new 2100kv fan! Its a rocket ship!! And I have gotten up to 20min flights with mine!! Did you get the half throttle howl yet?
but on the FMS homepage it says 3270-KV2000 inner running
@@harald-ce9jj yes thats what they say but its old info. The new ones now come with the 2100kv 3280 motor. The other new 70mm also have the upgraded 30mm motor fans but specs dont mention it either.
@@gooniac33 How fast is it in comparison to the futura?
@@martindelrio1891 it has about 95% of the futura speed but its scale. The futura is a sport jet. Having a fast scale plane is a much bigger plus! Almost no bad habits for the Hawk as well!! I own both and love both!
Brian why you took so long to get this review out?! Love the chat you have about it and agree with everything you say. Looking forward to your Futura V3 review. I love both these planes and looking forward to seeing if we share the same thoughts on it. Hope you get your hands on the new Xfly TA-7 80mm coming soon.
😀😀😀😀😀
Thanks!
👍
Thanks!
Hey brother I’m looking to purchase this bird but would like to install safe and As3x receiver how does that work with reflux?
"Reflux" - LOVE IT :) (I have to assume that was just a typo, but if not, sounds like something a competitive brand would call it - LOL... it's a Reflex, and sure you already knew that...)
Reflex V2 is just a stabilizer and provides for Auto Leveling as well, but you can can it pull right out. It's not hard, and you can definitely put in an AR630, AR631, AR637T and get even better flight performance.
Here's the Rx list that might work for you're situation...pick what meets your criteria...
AR630 bit.ly/3zpdgVR - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + INTERNAL Antenna
AR631 bit.ly/3v0w3Fy - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + EXTERNAL Antenna
AR637T bit.ly/3OlgIpB - AS3X & SAFE with FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas
These would add support for CRAZY wing types, but they are unnecessary in my opinion...
AR8360T bit.ly/3crfA6H - AS3X & SAFE with FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas
OR you can just use one of these WITH the REFLEX V2...
AR620 bit.ly/3z7WDO0 - Simple 6 Channel Air Rx with limited telemetry - No AS3X & SAFE
AR6610T bit.ly/3z37ysk - More telemetry - No AS3X & SAFE
AR8020T bit.ly/3vgCnbV - FULL RANGE telemetry + EXTERNAL Diversity Antennas
If you don't want Reflex, follow our link, then see what one says PNP without Reflex, if it exists.
Lol yes typo.
I thought I'd buy enough for a diamond formation.
WOW - that would be so cool!!!!!
Bad ass
Hey guys !!! I recently got an aeroscout and crashed it like newbie😂. But now, when I test everything, everything seems to be running well. However when the plane goes straight, it no longer goes straight but steers to the left. How do I fix this problem?
Thank You
Weather conditions when you fly like ?
Get her up check your trims id say , trim it best you can on the ground plan what you gonna do when up and take it steady , I’m a new flyer I tend to run the sim prior to going out helps me quite a bit , something i do mite help I kinda plan what I going to do before putting her up kinda like envision in my head then try and play it out , I think just sending it up can be a big problem as you have so much to think about its nice to have a plan , well helps me
@@Jay-zc7iq it’s more on take off. The plane won’t take off on a straight line and I’m afraid to take off since I’m not sure if I’ll have full control when elevated.
Air Wolf would have taken the Hawk down ...........................Keep on RC Flying in the Free World !!!!!
There is your like. I been watching you for a year and a half. I fly because of you a d camera crew. Now Ice Man was that a dig on me about the cutting my leg and bleeding out? 🤣 If not please click on my face to see the video that shows just that. Talk about uncanny man. 🤗
It was NOT about you, but I just watched...ouchie!!!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC it cut through geans without cutting the geans if that makes sense.
Hello dear Brian Boaz from I israel i the same plane EDF 80mm BAE Hawk
Hi from USA ;)
Requires 35C?, I get 30C for longer flights and preserve ESC 🤓 I’m a geek ok lol
First!!
BAS Hawk
*Cough*FuturaV3*Cough*
What?!?!?! I have no idea what you're talking about ;)
The model is called a Hawk not a Haark 🙄.
