If you find an issue where a dehydrated Lois Lane is marrying the owner of the only water fountain around for miles while Supes stands by I will absolutely not be surprised.
"Everytime a Lois Lane gets a wedding ring, a Superman in that world ends up internally dying" At this point, Superman does the wedding planning, flower man duties, best man duties, ordains it, escorts them to the Honeymoon, then watches, because Superman has a new kink at this point.

I thought this would be a story about Lois and Jimmy getting married because they thought they'd never be good enough for Superman. I should have known that it would be a lot more contrived than that.
I missread the title and thought we were getting a twist with "Superman Marries his Best Friend" and thought we were getting a Clark/Jimmy Olsen comic for some reason.
Jimmy “Super Friendzone” Olsen secretly being in love with Superman makes sense and also seems plausible for reciprocity given how determined Superman seems to let Lois get married off to anyone but him. But they weren’t ready for the natural conclusion to these plot points at that time period... though a fun little nod happens when Superman briefly gets turned gay by pink kryptonite in Supergirl: Many Happy Returns (he totally flirts with Jimmy there).
This reminded me how the was a cereal commercial in the 50s or 60s? Starring superman. They thought it'd be too scandalous to have Superman enjoy his breakfast with Lois so instead switched her out for... Jimmy.
@@Rozdlc LOL isn’t interesting how times have changed. Nowadays it would be more scandalous to have Jimmy on the cereal box with Superman. I can almost hear the screams of the Million Moms.
that is hard to say, especily since his "friendship" with batman is so complecated. I would say that Jimmy is argubly more his friend now then he was in the silver age. Superman was certaintly a better friend to Bruce than he was to olson back then, what with all of the cruel mindgames and magic tricks he would pull on poor James. The only reason that it might not seem that way is because after the silver and late bronze age, Jimmy got significantly less popular, only occasionally getting his own miniseries that were usaully references to his silver age glory days. He had a series last year in fact.
🤔Let’s see... add a crisis... subtract a Robin... carry the Martha.... plus Joker to the third power .... then factor in the injustice of the paradox... I’m guessing somewhere around the early 80’s...
@@deadfred821 No, earlier than that. I'd say the Supes/Jimmy friendship started to fall apart around the time Jack Kirby brought his magic to DC. Consider: three new titles that marked that revolution (Forever People, New Gods, Mister Miracle) plus the fourth title, the continuation of "Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen".
Well since adults don't have the ranked friends thing as seriously as kids (remember the target age for these comics was 7-13 I think) they're very different relationships. Jimmy's a kid who Clark enjoys having around, sort of his professional protégé, and one of his closest work friends. Batman is his age contemporary, a hero he knows is every bit as dangerous/powerful as him, and they see each other maybe every couple of weeks for crossovers or League stuff. So Jimmy's the guy he takes his lunch break with at work and maybe get a drink with if you have a free afternoon, but is always a Kid in his eyes, and Bruce is the friend he sees on the weekends but respects very deeply.
In the 1950's people didn't talk about silly things like "feelings". They would take all those emotions and bury them down deep. Until it exploded and you sent your wife to the moon 😂
Ah when I first saw that cover I thought Jimmy was doing a please don't kill me Superman. It was a please stop the wedding. Are you kidding? With Superman's speed he can be the flower girl, best man, all the ushers, and orgainist. Heck the only thing he can't do is actually perform the ceremony. I'm with you on cad. I even use it as a supervillian name. But what no love for rotter or scallawag? And yes and yes. We should see more of Jimmy olsen and I want the Quen of the Universe to propse to me.

Rather than assume some dark arts of transposing different wigs are involved, I like to think that you have mood hair which changes according to your assessment of the comic discussed. Still trying to work out the color wheel on it though.
I'm definitely here for a Jimmy Olsen playlist. Honestly, non-superheroes are under-utilized. You could make some fantastic stories that explore what it's like for a regular person to live in a world with superheroes and exploring how society reacts to it. Sometimes it's just a vanilla slice of life and other times super-powers come into play for a change of pace. A concept like this would be fun for anthology-esque collection.
"He also likes living," my favorite lines in this video. Lois Lane marrying anyone other than Superman videos it's got to be one of my favorite sets of videos from this channel. Awesome video as always 👍👍
It's incredible on how Lois can get any men to propose to her with so little effort. I'm really enjoying these "Lois Marries" stories as they're silly and over the top.
There was a Lois Lane where she married 'the Devil', whom I think was actually an alien. I think I recall that Lois had cloven hooves for a little bit.
Yes, please do more Jimmy olsen. If Superman in supposed to be ideal, then his companions should be what we think of as normal, the way the audience has access to the hero.. How far have we come Since these Societal expectations? Thank you comics for helping us be better people through counterexample.

I remember reading these classic comics as a kid (yeah I'm that old) and it's amazing hearing a 21st century take on the actions, morals and ethics of the DC world.
