The first tanks designed for combat we're the Mark 1 tanks developed by the British. An armored "landship" built to halt the stalemate of trench warfare, deployed on September 15 1916 at Flers-Courcelette, the Germans saw the beginning of a hundred years of a new weapon, a weapon to change war as they knew it. Confusion on distraught behind their faces, their guns and hand grenades useless against the lumbering metal box, in the end of the battle, the Germans lost.
If you're wondering why I have not posted in a while it's because of this video, I put more effort, time and resources into this video, after all, my channel description is; "Quality over quantity"

Ok, I just found you randomly and the title dragged me in and this was possibly one of the best *animations* I’ve ever seen.
This is actually really cool!
Btw just a fun fact, but not really fun for the crewmen but when this tank was rolling the crewmen were actually in pain! Not because of gunshots but rather because of the engine, as I know the mark 1 or 4 tank has their engine in the middle and it isn't covered so the crewmen inside the tank were basically being cooked but was still a pretty effective way of surviving in ww1 where gunners lurked everywhere in the ground, potholes, trenches
i always played melon playground and considering it was the mobile version of people playground, i never expected it to turn out this good

In my opinion, the most "tank-like" tanks are those made in the 1st World War. They really feel like machines of war, both in how terrible they were to operate, and the terror they inflicted. True monsters of fire and steel.

Fun fact: The Germans were so scared at the first tanks they saw, That they surrendered to literally 4 immobilized tanks a no they’d were 400 men.
Cant imagine how scary it would have been. You've been stuck in this trench for months seeing every horror known. Then these huge steel boxes with guns come crawling over no mans land
@@BrassFocks and the worst part? you could hardly do much about it. you could shoot many times at the hunk of steel and it wouldn't bother. grenades bounced off of it, requiring skills to aim, and the only way to reliable kill them was artillery.
