More like, it isn’t the early 2000s anymore where if you were found out to be gay meant a widespread community outrage that would result in you being forced to find another job. I was in high school in the Late 90s, saw it happen on the news several times. It went from some poor actor to some poor high school counselor eventually losing their career. And it was pretty much like this until sometime after I graduated in 2000. Don’t get it twisted, certain things truly weren’t that long ago. TV shows being bold enough to risk cancellation by having quick scenes of same sex ppl kissing is what over time changed some people’s minds. So you can thank “wokeness” for that. It’s what allowed certain people to be treated somewhat like… people.
