Its just like doing one more attack. You can't convince me that facet is good until it recieves a significant change. (crits every 6th attack or attacking doesn't dispell blur)
I think you are greatly undervaluing the power of Blur; being untargetable and hard to see for an entire second after you blink into a fight is crucial. With enough attack speed, you'll crit them before they even know you're there. The movespeed buff is also important when trying to chase down fleeing enemies or getting into position for a fight.
The thing that Purge leaves out when he says Methodical is good is what you are giving up for it. In a vacuum, yes, Methodical is good. The 6 attacks suck (4 if you count Dagger), it also sucks switching targets because it works like MK's Jingu. That being said, it is a lot of damage. HOWEVER, you are giving up a lot for it. 1) The most important, you lose your normally safe farming mechanism of Blur. Not being shown on creep waves makes it a lot harder to find PA, which is great since she can farm much more safely than a lot of other carries can. You can just pay attention to the waves ("just"), but it's still hard to find her. Blur is also what allows her to take stacks of large camps/ancients way before other carries could, which greatly accelerates her timings and farming ability, and thus impact. 2) You lose the burst damage of normal crit. Sometimes, as PA, you really just need to blow someone up the second you jump on them. You can't do this with Methodical because of its restrictive hit count mechanic. But with normal crit, you can jump on someone and get a crit on the 2nd or 3rd hit. Often times, that's enough to kill a support which is very important. 3) You lose crit fishing. Because you can no longer crit with your dagger, you don't get that sometimes nice damage when you're in a stalemate. But you also can't prime a crit. Being able to dagger literally anything and then jump a hero for a guaranteed crit is massive. That's why Methodical just isn't good. It's possible to win with it, but it's often in spite of it, not because of it. You give up way too much to use it (whereas you give up nothing to use Veiled One) and it has inherent flaws like lack of burst, large attack counter and the Jingu target sticking.
This game in particular I think was case in point for how Blur would've been the better facet. He kept getting caught on the wave. With blur he could've hit his timings earlier and wasted lc's time, preventing her from snowballing as much
@@nimpichu3711 you cant/shouldn't account for players who have perfect recall / assumption on where a core will farm therefore making blur pretty moot removed from facets anyway. at that point of course guaranteed damage will be preferred. generalized dotabuff stats have veiled one at 48.04% vs methodical at 42.73%

battlefury straight to bkb most games imo. bf gives you way more mana regen than echo which lets you spam phantom strike to farm, and you don't really need the double hit. bkb gives you the hp and security in fights you are looking for, especially when caught
Surprised he went for a 2nd wraith band instead of a value stick or wand, LC and Omni always spam their spells in lane to win it. Also I think if you're going Methodical facet and get more early burst, then battlefury just dampens this early power spike. Your lane was good, if you got Orb of corrosion you could rotate to offlane and kill sky. Its easy to say and hard to do, but i think you could have gotten deso at a good timing and be a real threat mid game. Educational as always purge 👍
What I hate about Methodical is that it makes it so your ultimate does nothing for farming once you get Desolator. You just kill creeps before you ever get stacks up and end up never criting. Being able to oneshot waves and jungle stacks with crits feels like an important part of PAs kit.
Sorry but this was difficult to watch. PA goes and kills heroes, not endlessly farm waves and neutrals. Way too much time spent letting yourself getting obviously duelled over and over and not hunting for kills. Purge's game style is too focussed on farming creeps.
Removes Omni Ult and inmunity to debufs, LC press the charge, stops most kind of help attempts. Very good for focusing a hero which is what the build tries to do.
Omni ult prevents him from dealing damage + He can't kill the skywrath on his own bc of force/euls, nulli fixes that. It also makes qop have to be more careful about blinking in because she can't just expect to euls and blink away.
