    Great podcast mate - I can tell you are actually in tune with the experience of the actual online professionals. I was just thinking of GG's influence on poker and hoping it doesn't come to the USA last week - a few days before they bought WSOP brand.
    As a 500NL grinder who makes 5bb/100, my income would be cut in half if GG poker's model was to be implemented here. I suppose if that happens I would just become a live poker player (sigh).

    It will be interesting to see how successful GG’s model will be when they are forced to run a ring fenced site. From what I can tell GG is much more willing to open operations to legal grey area markets. Fish from those markets along with high rake squeezing out bad regs creates a better reg to fish ratio than other sites. Games play in ways more familiar to fish and the game quality becomes an upward spiral as more and more fish move their play to GG. I’m not sure that model works as well when GG doesn’t have the initial market access advantage.

    The PVI RB system makes me laugh. There's way less incentive to study and improve your play vs regs when you can just lose to them and get more RB! Every hour you study cuts into your playing hourly.

  • @ltsjack
    @ltsjack 3 месяца назад +2

    I really dislike GG structure as well but think you’re underestimating the rakeback. I played few 100k hands of 200nl RnC and estimated long term avg rb to be around 5bb (with 0.2PVI so for more losing regs might be higher even), and rake taken around 8-9, which made it not all that different from what I would be paying on stars playing 200z for instance with almost no rakeback. It’s just that a lot of the rakeback comes from BBJ and you need to optimize playtime for leaderboards a bit. You can also get way more volume in on GG (especially the nit regs just BBJ hunting and taking presents from fish) which makes it more lucrative than stars.
    That said still dislike GG but it’s not really a huge difference in effective rake to other sites for low-mid stakes at least

    • @abstract1603

      @@abstract1603 I get a whopping 0% in Sweden so that's true lol
      Anyway point is you need to be comparing effective rake post-rakeback to make any real comparisons. Like jackpot fee is 2-3 bb/100 in rake but obviously it's more like 0EV (with lots of variance) in the long term with "rakeback" from winning BBJ

    • @mobiuspoker
      @mobiuspoker  3 месяца назад +1

      I don't think that's feasible for many players, since GG has by far the most traffic of any site. I just recommend diversifying as much as possible. Play on all major sites and test out newer/smaller ones so you can shift your volume quickly if a better opportunity arises.

    Shouldn’t net profit be more important a cost of doing business.
    There’s lower rake games on other sites with less fish and lower net winrates

    • @mobiuspoker
      @mobiuspoker  3 месяца назад +1

      My opinion is when a site takes the majority of traffic online, and then takes a larger cut of winnings from pros (esp. through nontransparent rakeback systems), that's bad for us.
      It lowers the ceiling on how much players at each stake can make, and makes it harder for players to move up through stakes.

    Curious to hear, say there's one rec at the table, what %difference would being in/out of position be against the rec?
    My guess is an absolutely astronomical difference, such that for many regs, simply being on the table with the rec isn't enough.

    • @enijize1234

    The main issue is the GG Ceo doesn't believe Poker should be beatable. I think they will wipe out the competition then up the rake making it unbeatable. Then poker will be dead. With that being said Pokerstars was once the market leader, the removed rakeback and the games became very tough to beat, the site has been dying ever since.

      Lol y have no idea dude ..pokerstars has the most fair rake / rakeback system by far . The thing is that has the poorest and toughest player pool at the same time . The reason? Complicated European poker tax schemes . Ggpkekr doesn't care about that cause you can play here via vpn/agents etc this is the main reason gg take the lead. Everyone can play there !
