My favorite case for the15 pro max. I’m simplistic when it comes to cases and want something that doesn’t show fingerprints but also will protect my phone. The texture and grip is perfect.
Great case, however Caudabe support has been slipping lately. Emailed them regarding the promised replacement case, and even tweeted their support on twitter and they haven’t acknowledged anything
Hey Pat thanks for the review. I’m trying to decide between the sheath and synthesis. They both seem to offer 6 ft 6 inch drop protection. If that’s true then you would think they are similar in bulk, right? But Caudabe says the synthesis is their thickest case. So I’m confused. Ok the sheath as that grippy texture all over. The synthesis has the matrix grip on the sides. First question. Which one offers more protection in your opinion? What case is more grippy? That’s important to me. Does having the air buttons the way they are cause a lot of dust and debris to enter?
Really good questions. I would say this year the Synthesis offers more grip although the sheath isn’t slippery by any means. As far as protection that might go to the synthesis too. The slits in the buttons haven’t caused me any issues personally. I like the sheath the best bc of the texture & the way it’s made but the synthesis might suit you better. Maybe grab both & see which you prefer
Just ordered a week ago, it may take close to 1 month to be delivered here in the Philippines. I ordered the gray one because all of my cases are in black.
Great review bro…I always likes the rugged snug fit cases and the reason I like Synthesis compared to Sheath earlier but looks like sheath as well have a snug fit now i mean the older sheath cases use to be more like a flexible rubber all the edges use to feel loose…seeing your fit test feels like to use Sheath this time for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I liked the Gray color in Sheath but it’s not available in Synthesis. I will order Sheath Gray Action button version. Thank you for the review.
Thanks man! Yeah they definitely refined their cases this year & made them almost perfect. I’ll be doing a synthesis review as well which is also changed from last year. Caudabe makes some of the best products imo.

This or that Pitaka MagEz Pro, Pat? Which adds less bulk do you think? And would you give either the edge in fit? I’ve owned many Caudabes and it’s usually my go-to, but intrigued by Pitaka.
Ahhh man, that’s a difficult one! Less bulky, maybe pitaka but it’s really close. Neither one of them really add much to your phone. As far as fit I’d say it’s equal. They both have an amazing fit. It’ll come down to personal preference bc they’re both great cases. The pitaka is slim with flat sides & floating buttons with decent MagSafe. The sheath has a grippier feel, tactile built in buttons, & incredible MagSafe strength. Also, the price difference ($70+ vs $42)
I currently using the Sheath in Gray on my Natural Titanium iPhone 15 PM. I do own the Synthesis in Black as well but I like the texture on the Sheath more but I do like the grips on the Synthesis but I dislike how easily dust/particles get stuck on the grips. Just waiting for Caudabe to email me back on the action button cover for the case.
Did you receive the Sheath (and Synthesis) with the action button button? If so, what are your thoughts? Does your Sheath have the known MagSafe indentation ring issue on the back?
I did receive both & the updated ones that came out recently do not have the MagSafe imprint. Caudabe fixed that issue! The new ones are perfect. Great buttons, MagSafe, fit, etc.
What about the camera area? If I put the case on a table, will it touch the camera or the camera cutout line thing [excuse my bad English, I’m still learning :)]
Mine were a little stiff at first but they broke in fairly quick. I have a few colors of the case & all the buttons I have are fine now. Since you just received it, hopefully they’ll break in for you as well after a little bit. A little trick I have is, without the phone in the case I push the buttons in and out a bit to loosen them up & that normally does it.

It’s similar but a bit more solid. A little more material & the texture is a bit better.

How’s the drop protections compared to a mous case? And or Rokform case?
I would say Rockform & Mous will have a bit higher drop protection but the sheath can definitely take a drop, no doubt.
Keep in mind. You have to pay for shipping for the replacement cases.

Not at all. There’s definitely enough clearance to protect the lenses!

You get a small lip around the screen. It’s not the most amount of clearance but the case is all around pretty durable with drops.

No the 14pro max is bigger than the 15pro max
Unfortunately it won’t fit in the 15PM case but they do still sell 14PM cases!

It’s more of a protective minimal case. It only adds a little bit to the phone. Still fairly thin imo.

There’s 2 updated versions pretty much. There’s updated with action button & updated with the MagSafe imprint fixed that just came out recently.
