Great video!thanks 👍 we're going to Bolsa chica with our travel trailer for the 1st time to camp there., we're SoCal residents so we've been to HB many times, but never camped, due to reservation difficulties, but we got lucky!, can't wait to see how it is to be that close camping at the beach! 😀
I wasn't so sure I would enjoy camping in a busy city area, but I loved it! So much to do and see. Great weather, sunsets, beach and the people were so friendly. Definitely will do it again!
I used to surf fish at Bolsa Chica. Too many people. I can't imagine taking my RV anywhere along that stretch. It's noisy, traffic is crazy and the people are weird. It could just be me though.
Good video.. I was born in paramount. But live in montana now but my family will be headed to Cali this may and I want to camp on the beach with my family..
WoW! $100 for a night is insane. You are the one bringing the place to stay. It just a spot to park. Ive stayed in Airbnbs for much less. I wonder if they charge that even for a Van Camper. Much smaller footprint. Is this the city that owns this parking. Ripping people off!
I get the shock - but It’s all supply and demand, You should check out the prices at some other places in So. Cal. that are Beach close and not State operated ( Malibu or San Diego), $150-$200 or more a night is somewhat common. Even the state beaches here are $65 with hookups. Considering the hotel rooms right across the street from our location are all $500 a night hotels, and we were right on the sand, in comparison to that $100 is a deal, and it’s REALLY difficult even finding an open reservation there. Hey - Thanks for watching and commenting, it’s appreciated ! and happy camping !
Me and my big sis just left waterfront...we met soooooOOO many nice and very helpful WHITE folks ..me and my sis didn't know how to unhitch her new air stream and there out of no whee came 3 white men to assist us ! we were the ONLY black folks there but I swear being out in the OC as a black woman and my big sister who's BTW a stud boi Lesbian, lol taught me that the only color that matter is GREEN 💚 . It's not to say money is everything but it does allow you to expand your options IF you allow it ! I also learned that once you raise your vibrations , your environment and desire for new experiences will change !! I mentioned race because , as for me I had just been dating and dealing with people who had never left their neighborhoods..and even if they left physicallly the mindset stayed in fear ! but I come all the way down out of the hood to the coast and VOILA!! I find my tribe no matter the skin color I find like minded and spirited folks ! surely I'm not naive to believe racist don't exist , but when you are flying high on a love journey you don't notice the bad people you only notice the good ones 😁🎉💗 light and love Jae !
Glad you had a good time and some good folks there were able to help you out. It’s what is great about the RV lifestyle and the people who enjoy it, they are most often pretty good people who will say hello, offer you some food or a drink, and love to start up a conversation about RV’ing. As a guy who grew up and still lives in the LBC, diversity is what makes us all better, glad to hear a nice story about some good unity out in the campground in the OC.
Yep, lots of pull behinds there for day use. Most of the time even in peak season - if you are there by 8 am you are fine to get a pretty nice spot, off season, you can pretty much show up anytime. day use Lots are like 6 am to 10 pm daily at both Bolsa Chica and Huntington State beaches. Happy camping !! Thanks for watching.
You're a great source of inspiration, so much so that I just purchased an Entegra myself, Flying over to Kentucky to get it and drive it back to California! Hopefully we can meet up one day and buddy travel! Greetings and stay safe! 👍🏻😎🍺
Lots of Sand yes, grass - no - unfortunately these 3 camping spots are all asphalt with a sand beach. Grassy areas in California near the beach camping locations is pretty uncommon. It rains here almost never - so desert style landscaping is more common - watch my video on Refugio State beach camping, it has a very nice grass area there. Thanks for watching and commenting ! It is appreciated.
Maybe Bolsa Chica allows it, it is a Ca. state beach so you should be able to go onto the State parks website and see the rules for the campground and see if roof top campers are OK. The other two places are pretty much RV’s only I think. Thanks for watching and commenting !
I hate these RV spaces.. you're rving right on eachother. If you sit outside of your RV underneath the awning the people next door can listen on your conversation and watch your every move. I stop goin to this so-called RV camp grounds spots. That sucks. I rather go rving on the lake and or up in the mtns where your next door RV is 30-60 ft away..
For sure - it’s not ideal, but most beach camping in California is similar tight spacing between rigs. At Bolsa Chica, the front row of spots have really nice open areas of concrete behind the rigs facing the beach - and most hang out there where you aren’t so “elbow to elbow” like between the rigs.
Awesome video!!
I've camped there a few times. Beautifully shot, nicely done...
Thanks for watching !
Thanks for the great info

Ya, it is definitely a well used section of beach, so if a more secluded campground is one’s preference, Bolsa isn’t a very good option.
@@TheBlockPartyRV I just returned from my second two day outing along Hwy 395 today in about a month. Even the desert is getting crazy.

Do day use parking lots allow trailer rvs? How early should I arrive?

Can I camp there with my roof top tent? It's open wide so I might need two parking space.
