Hey Alan how does the 4WD fuel efficiency compare to the 2WD? Obviously going to be worse but if like it’s only say 5% then it’s maybe worthwhile for the extra off-road practicality.
I don't know Mark - and obviously it also depends on where and how it is being used - but I think it will be much more than five percent! I agree that if it is not much, it would be worth it, even for just driving in the snow!
@ No problem. Just for interest I checked the WLTP figures from the Ford website for the tall Transit with 165hp diesel engine. The figures were 30.4mpg (awd) and 27.2mpg (rwd), so approx 12% difference. I’m assuming those figures are for an unloaded van so campervan figures will be a good bit worse?
That's a nice van. The new bailey endeavour is also built on the transit van/chassis. That ( IMO ) has the best heating system as the heating and hot water is diesel electric powered with a small gas bottle for cooking. Every time I check online as regarding the forecourt supply of LPG pumps I see that the MFG group is doing away with supply LPG in favour of much more profitable EV charging points and why wouldn't they. When was the last time anyone had to queue for LPG They are a huge supplier ( shell bp jet murco Morrisons etc ( personally I wouldn't be buying a van with refillable underslung tanks now.
The van alone would be $70k in the US. How much does 4 wheel drive add to the price? You didn't demonstrate the blinds on the windshield and cab doors.
In this case, the 4x4 set up is not adding a great deal to the price although usually it is up to around 20%. I have demonstrated the blinds many times and cannot do it on every single video but I take your point that not everyone watches many of my videos!
Hello from Sweden. 4WD would suggest winter driving. What's the insulation like? Is this van similar to the Sunlight Cliff 4WD?

@@VanlifewithAlan So it would be 58k without 4WD, that's great. I watch a lot of your vids. Cheers!
